To answer his own question about finding the quotes proving his “distrust” of police in general.

JeffR

Why should anyone trust the police?

They are armed, they have special rights under the law and there has not been one police department in the history of mankind where a healthy part of said department did not use their privileges to enrich themselves or gain other advantages.

At best they are politicians in uniform which would be kind of institutionalized corruption.

If you have some power, you are not to be trusted, period.

Now there’s a nice, balanced statement from someone who knows next-to-nothing about life in the US.

But thanks for the info on the Austrian police.
Well in the light of the ongoing scandals regarding the Austrian police that describes them pretty well.

What makes them different from the US police though that they have not started to turn on the citizens.

Some ties to the red light district, the drug smuggling community and political corruption may be inevitable, but tasering people because they demand to know why they were stopped, or to drag them from a microphone, lethal no-knock raids because of weed (!!!), a militarization of the police or a woman stripped of her clothing by male officers though she made the 9-11 call would be enough to bring down a government or at least the responsible minister.

In your country that seems to be becoming the norm and quite a lot of people seem to be perfectly ok with it.

Combined with all the surveillance and agents writing their own warrants the US has a lot of the ground work for a police state already done, so yes I´d fear the police if I were you.

bota,

Is this some sort of cheap ploy to make yourself seem important? Is this a the “meek shall inherit” scenario?

Since you have no power and are weak, you are trustworthy?

What a crock of bota crap.

I have no power over you, but if I had and it was based on a gun I can put to your head you should definitely not trust me.

The same is true for politicians, military personel, police, judges, district attorneys and intelligence agencies.

Just out of curiosity, does your perspective include any experience living in the US, or do you make your pronouncements based solely on what you read in the media?
Would you like to come over to Austria to see how much you do not feel threatened by the Austrian police no matter how you misbehave?

Quit hiding and answer my question: does your perspective include any experience living in the US, or do you make your pronouncements based solely on what you read in the media?

C’mon, Orion. I’m waiting.

Show us all if you have the stones to admit something “inconvenient” to you.

Or does that sharp, “superior,” incisive mind of yours shut down when you are faced with something that makes you look like the arrogant know-it-all that you are?

Just how much experience do you have living in the good ole US of A, Mr. Expert?

Man up… if you can.
Well, Chushin, it looks like you tree’d this squirrel.

I already answered in another thread.

It is mind numbingly stupid, since I am arguing most of the time against American ideas that are forced on a very unwilling world at gunpoint.

Since any of you know far less about Iraq, Iran and the ME in general than me about the US and yet know what is best for them and continue to lecture Lixy on Arabs, their culture, the ME and Muslim religion though he undoubtedly knows much more about it than you do,that I would have preferred you not going there, so I would not have to point out your idiotic hubris and hypocrisy.

Since you insist on it, you non Arab speaking, mostly proud to speak only one language, moral absolutist, yet Middle Eastern bombing, themselves to Nazis comparing to look better, hypocritical mofos can kiss my nuts.

If you can find out where I buried them.

Honestly, if we are going to begin telling others that they can’t speak on other countries unless they have lived there, this entire forum needs to shut down for the most part.

I missed this little gem. My apologies.

First of all, my writing style is tailored to the audience. Many of my opponents do not have the ability to think beyond tag-lines. I provide better tag-lines. I’ve come to the conclusion that there are some people who cannot think for themselves. I’ve decided I’d rather hear truthful and accurate tag-lines. It’s a public service I provide, free of charge.

Second, are you going to contend that my methods aren’t effective? Are you telling me I don’t “accomplish” what I set out to do?

If you’d like, I can point out recent, clear-cut victories as examples. However, I’d rather you re-read recent threads. For example, the Berkley thread.

Thanks,

JeffR

Yes, friend Professor, it is a matter of honesty.
Some posters have none, and are called on it.
