Nutrition: Raw vs Cooked Ground Beef

For example, I buy ground beef that is 87% lean. So raw, every 100 grams has 13 grams of fat.

How do I know or find out how much of the fat is lost after cooking it?

Do I even lose fat or is all the liquid that’s left in the pan water?

this is a little program and the food database. there are over 700 beef cuts to choose from, unfortunately, only 85 and 90%.

no matter, i calculated that if you are making a pan of ground beef, about 3-4g fat per 100g beef would be left behind in the pan. adding oil would of course skew those numbers.

to get a super accurate picture of what you actually eat, you could take the pan you cooked it in and put it in the fridge till the fat solidifies, pour off any water, and weigh the pan. then wash it and weight it again.
