Hey guys I’m currently bulking and my diet is generally haphazard I eat smart most of the time but I know there are days I’m not getting enough protein…
So here are my questions…
How do I plan out my diet I know I should get roughly a gram of protein per pound of body weight per day so around 135grams a day maybe 140 for good measure.
I have some electronic scales, I’ve never used them but I wanted to know how to work out how much protein there is in the food I am eating and how I work this out from the weight of my food?
Also I would like to ask about carb cycling - I’m really bad with carbs so I was thinking of a modified anabolic diet with a few days with extra carbs so any advice in general for carb cycling?
Also I’m on a budget of about $60 a week for all my food so any advice on good cheap foods I could buy in?
Thanks a lot!
Screw the gram per lb of bodyweight. Heck, some people suggest up to 2g/lb. If you have about 30 grams per meal and six meals…180 grams right there. And that’s just the minimium…
You’re only 135-140 so you need to forget about eating only 6 times. More like 8. You are bulking and can gain a bunch more calories from healthy fats if you don’t want the carbs.
If you’re intent on using a scale, use a calorie counting site that calculates the calories in portions.
I can’t really comment on the AD because I’ve never done it. Many find it works. Others swear by carbs for gaining. I’m the latter.
Cheap food has been beaten to death. Canned tuna and beans are key, as are eggs. Buy in bulk.
