New regime plus better offensive playcalling abilities here + same crazy-eyed bastard at Huntington Community College = bad day for MooU.
Week 2 Day 1
Paused bench press 295x3,320x3
Bench press (touch and go) 300x6
CG bench press 240x3,270x3,295x3
WG paused bench press 275x2x6
Pull-ups BWx4x10
Face pulls 4x12
DB triceps extensions 55x6x8
Zottman curls 45x4x8
Abs
Notes: Since I’m on vacation, I had to train in an unfamiliar environment, in every sense of the word: a Cross-fit gym. For bench, I had to use an Olympic training bar and it screwed me up a bit because the sleeves would spin. Still, the top set with 320x3 paused was solid but since I don’t have any video evidence none of this really happened, lol. I also was forced to improvise on a couple of the exercises because they didn’t have some of the things I needed. Not a bad session overall.

Week 2 Day 2
Squat (w/ belt) 360x5x3
Deadlift (w/ belt) 425x6x2
Pause squat (no belt) 315x1,330x1,350x1
Side bends 75x2x10
Plate twists somexsome
Notes: More training at the Crossfit gym and good grief it was hot in there today. Squats felt decent, but I was getting on my toes a bit on a couple of occasions. Deadlifts were good, although the oly bar whip screwed me up at first. Good pop on pause squat singles. I’ll try and get some video up later, but for now I have to pack.
so good you did day 2 twice, eh? ![]()

Double sessions, doing the same thing in both, are always the best!
novaeer, I want to know the password.

LOL. Hey, working twice as hard will get you get 2x the results.
Week 3 Day 1
Paused bench press 305x3,330x3
Bench press (touch and go) 300x7
CG bench press 240x3,275x3,300x3
WG paused bench press 280x2x6
Lat pulldowns 5x15
Scap retractions 4x15
EZ-bar triceps extensions 95x6x10
Abs
Notes: Wrists were still sore from a mishap while front squatting this past weekend. Paused benches felt a little sluggish and I had to wrap the wrists pretty damn tight to the point that my fingers almost went numb, lol. The third rep with 330 was pretty friggin’ slow and is the first time in a long time I was able to grind through a rep. I’ll post video of it in a bit. I had to use the EZ-curl bar for the triceps extensions instead of the dumbbells because it put a lot less stress on my wrists. Good session and I just hope this wrist soreness dissipates soon.
Week 3 Day 2
Squats (w/ belt) 375x5x3
Deadlifts 440x6x2
Pause squats 300x1,340x1,360x1
Side bends 75x2x8
Notes: Warm-ups felt great on squats and first was pretty good, too, but then every set after that felt like absolute crap. On just about every set the third rep downright sucked. Just basically blah. Deadlifts weren’t too shabby, but going on 1-minute rest between each set with that kind of weight was a killer. Didn’t have much speed to speak of by the last set. Pause squats were solid as well. Thank goodness it’s a deload week next week because my knees, hips and back are feeling a bit beat up. I’ll post some videos later when I get the chance.
I was sure I posted something in this thread the other day, but it doesn’t appear to have shown up. Bizarre. Anyway - I asked whether you have spent time doing speed work before, and (assuming yes) did you find that you were able to generate pretty rapid bar speed with relatively heavier loads than most people would use for DE work? I only ask because the video above is probably the only time I’ve seen you have to grind through the lockout on bench, and you had good speed off your chest. Strong stuff hitting a triple at 330 anyway!

I told the mods to delete it because you use kilos, lol. As far as speed work is concerned, I usually try to work in the 75-85% range, but I think that is around the %age where you produce maximal force anyway.
Week 3 Day 3
Olympic SSB pause squats 275x2x3
CG 2-board bench press 270x2,315x2,340x2 (PR)
Barbell rows 275x3x6
Barbell hip thrusts 245x3x12
Pistol squats BWx3x6
Pull-ups BW+65x3x3
Triceps pushdowns (monster mini) 4x40
Leg raises (knees to chest) 3x12
Leg raises (straight leg) 2x10
Notes: Ditched the front squats due to last week’s wrist tweak. I haven’t used the SSB for a really long time so I was pleased how relatively easy these were. Top weight with the CG board presses were pretty heavy, but I didn’t have any problem with it. My form was getting sloppy with the rows, but I was still feeling the tension in my upper back so they’re still achieving their purpose. I’ve never even come close to using that much extra weight on pullups and all I can say is these were heavy. I did a double take when I saw what Josh wanted me to do for pushdowns and boy did I ever get the biggest triceps pump from these. Reps 30-40 on each set I was nearly in tears, lol. Good session.
Here are a few videos from the past couple of sessions
5th set of 375x3
6th set of 440x2
Pause squat 360x1
CG 2-board press 340x2
There is some strong lifting going on in here. Reading through your sessions is making me really excited to start training with Josh in October. They look fun, difficult, and different from anything I have ever done.
Is that your home setup? If so, it is a damn good one.

Thanks. Some days are tough to make it through when you first start out with him, but eventually you turn into a machine thanks to the volume. Recovery and nutrition are paramount, and it took me a couple of weeks to realize that. Josh also makes himself very available for questions, advice, etc, and provides a lot of encouragement along the way so that definitely makes the process work much better than others I’ve worked with. When do you start exactly? How have you liked TJM thus far?
Thanks for the compliment on my home gym. I’ve got a lot packed into a 1-car garage and spent a decent amount of $$$ over the past few years to get it, much to my wife’s chagrin, lol.
I start at the end of October, no specific date set. I made a down payment and he just said to email him in October when I am ready, that way I can finish the Juggernaut method and then retest my maxes before starting.
I really like TJM, some people complain that it is too volume focused and not enough intensity, but in my experience my max strength responds well to volume. I know I am going to end up benching and squatting PRs in a few weeks, deadlift and overhead remain to be seen but I believe I will have PRs there too, just a bit more modest than what I expect on bench and squat.
