I had to go look. That was a nice deep squat for all that weight. You look like a pretty big dude too. I hit the same PR last year but my squat depth was meh… a trainer at my gym said it was good but I watch the video from time to time and it wasn’t that good. Nicely done sir!
I also just joined the 500 lb squat club (507 in wraps). Was deep enough to be passing in the USPA.

Very nice! You compete often though correct? I don’t think I’m ever going to strive to hit or break that PR again. I just don’t compete and those heavy lifts take a toll on me.
Lately about once a year. It was a rough meet prep TBH. Squats and bench really beat up my shoulders, bicep tendons and elbows (I think it is tendonitis). I only straight bar squatted for 5-6 weeks so I could bench too. I used the camber bar and buffalo bar after to get some relief. Got the flu the weekend before and dropped weight during that. Still went 507 on squat, 353 on bench and 523 on deadlifts. Deadlifts were rough on meet day. Dropped 2/3 of them. I locked all of them out too (just dropped before getting a down command). Would have gotten 563 if I could have held on just another second (I think I have an issue with my hook grip).
I feel much better on high and moderate volume (with low and moderate intensity) than low volume high intensity. My sleep goes to shit when I lift heavy, and my body does too.
Since this thread is dead how is the Datsun project?
