Not Feeling Anything At 6 Weeks

I’ve been on TRT for about 6 weeks, taking 0.25ML 3 times a week, coming out to 150mg a week, I know you’re supposed to wait at least 8 weeks, but should I feel at least some kind of benefits? i’m still tired and irritable all the time, and low moods. I’m also taking an A.I. 3 times a week, 0.125mg, and HCG 3 times a week, 0.35mL.

What were your labs before starting? Follow-up labs?

Most people get a first month boost, before pulling back for a couple weeks and then leveling out around 6-8 weeks. If you are feeling nothing then my guess is the AI is zapping some of your benefits by crashing your E2. I’m not as against AI’s as most around here, but I don’t think they should be taken without symptoms. If I were you, I would cut them out and see how you feel in a couple weeks. Then if still no improvement, up your dose.

Of course, this is all just guesswork without labs. I’m fairly new, 5 months in, so others will have more to offer, I’m sure.

That would depend on if your dosing is correct for you. 150mg should be a decent starting point though, that you should feel some improvement.

I would say the AI could very well be part of your problem, especially at 3 times a week.

Have you tested your thyroid?
TSH
Free T3
Free T4
Reverse T3

my E2 was really high, I aromatize alot so they recommend I stick with the A.I., follow labs are in a few weeks but I just think I should feel better. I was on 100mg for like 6 months before that, also no change. I did feel amazing for the first 3 weeks, it was like being on a high, but then it fell off and hasn’t improved since then. E2 was 40, Total T was 650, Free T was 25 I think? my Free T was ok, and my Total T wasn’t bad either, but Defy recommended my Trough level be closer to 800 for my age.

those lab results were on 100mg a week, which is why they bumped me to 150mg

If you’re working with Defy they’ll probably get you straightened out. It may take a couple of adjestments though.

A lot of things lead to fatigue though.

No, they recommended that this time around when I go in for my follow up blood work. i think they did test my TSH and T3 those we’re normal, but didn’t test T4 and Revers T3

I just want to get back to that amazing high i had those first few weeks, it was great. After falling off from that, I feel worse than before, because I experienced how I should feel. Hopefully in a few weeks i get better, and if not defy will straighten me out.

That’s fair, once they get your T levels where they want them and if you’re still feeling tired, they can revisit it.

Be careful a lot of guys try to chase the honeymoon and for what ever reason can’t find it again. It’s probably multifactorial not just a matter of bumping up test levels.

Peraonally, I never had a honeymoon phase. My T levels were so low and the doc started so conservatively that I just never felt well even after starting. Had been adjusting dosing schedule but not the dose for about a year before I switched to Defy in Dec. I feel bit better, I suspect I’ll need another dose adjustment at my followup, but we’ll see.

How about your body composition? Have you leaned out? Getting a tapered V shape? Clothes look better? Focus? Confidence?

Just as wolf359 just stated, a lot chase that honeymoon phase and are constantly chasing and on a roller coaster.

You could also try injecting even more frequent to see if there is any improvement. Which is a way to also manipulate e2 without actually using an AI. Saying that, again be careful that you are not chasing the dragon and just get feeling normal/good.

I am going to daily injections next time I order my supplies from Defy, don’t have enough syringes to do daily, and you need a prescription for syringes in my state.

i’m overweight, and i’m dieting currently, I want to work out but I don’t have the drive or energy, I’m also hoping that once I get my weight under control, my E2 will drop more, and my T will rise. I’m 6’0, and weight 235 pounds, which is the “obese” range, although i’m sort of fit, I can run a mile without stopping, which seems pretty good for someone who is “obese” but nowhere near where i’d like to be.

Also i’m 23 now, I started TRT when I was 16, and was on it til I was 19, but due to me being dumb and immature, losing insurance, and really busy with work (60 hours a week) I put it on the back burner, so i’m trying to get started back on it. When I was 19 and had been on for 3 years, I felt incredible, and was much happier with my life, but I don’t know how long it took to kick in. I started my junior year of highschool, and didn’t change mentally til after i graduated, so it took me over a year to the point where I was felt good all the time.

High estrogen can take away benefits of testosterone if estrogen dominant, anastrozole blocks aromatase which can have symptoms as well. The anastrozole has worse side effect than high estrogen in my experience.

If your thyroid or other hormones are out of whack, the benefits of TRT will not be noticed.

Provide evidence for this as this is false. His E2 was 40 pg/mL. You call this “high”? All the good stuff from TRT comes from aromatase itself.

When is someone going to provide evidence for this kinds of statements? I keep asking but am yet to receive any yet the statements continue to be made.

High T and High E2 = perfectly fine
Low T and High E2 = androgen deficiency. We don’t call that estrogen dominant. Why? Raise androgens, E2 raises even more, and suddenly E2 is no longer an issue.

Provide the evidence for these false statements.

How did you feel on A.I.s? what symptoms

If I’m understanding correctly and they put you on Adex for the “really high” E2 of 40, I’d guess you may have crashed your estrogen which is causing the issues.
Not to take anything away from your current position, the honeymoon phase was real to me and I chased it for awhile. Just bear in mind you should be feeling normal and optimized, not superhuman. But I understand what you’re saying about wanting to feel good. Only bloods will tell. Good luck.
