Nose Bleeding from Mucinex DM?

Anybody have any experience with this problem. I have been getting frequent nose bleeds and have blood in the bowl almost every time I shit. This problem started about 2-3 weeks ago with nose bleeds and the last week the bloody shits. I saw my doctor and she suggested stopping the Mucinex which I have done. It has been about 2 weeks now since stopping and I’m still having problems and maybe its even worse. No other symptoms.

Any help here would be greatly apprciated. Obviously, I plan on seeing another doctor as soon as I can but that may be at least another week. I also was wondering if the fish oil I was taking could be the source since I just started taking it 2 months ago. The product was recommended by my eye doctor and suppose to be a very high quality.

Its the guaifinesin (sp? off the top of my head) thats causing your nosebleeds. The bloody shits… no idea what the hell that would cause but blood in stool is never a good thing. Fish oil might lube-up your poopchute (or is that only EVOO?) but I don’t think its your issue. Sounds like something is going wrong in your intestines, brah.

i got nosebleeds a lot when taking sudafed. it really dries out your nostrils making you more prone to nosebleeds. Are you letting the blood drain out your nose? If you’re having frequent enough nosebleeds and swallowing the blood, I would think this could lead to bloody shit. How’s your blood pressure?

I’m hoping the stuff has just dried out my mucus membrains and the blood in the toilet is like the blood in the since from the bloody nose. I really don’t want to do a colonoscopy.

Could be internal hemorrhoids. The rear end thing, not the nosebleed.
