Nordic Blood: Climbing And Lifting / Lifting And Climbing

Swooning over 2 & 3. Imagine you just got unlucky with the lighting on 1 and that it was tasty all the same

Generally I cook for several days at once so if I fuck it up, that’s several days worth of food ruined. Kinda puts a bit of pressure on to make it good.

But yeah, I put no effort into making stuff pretty, as I’m sure you can tell.

I would like to hire you or @Voxel as my cook. I can pay in overhead press advice and beer (although I think Voxel doesn’t drink, so soda would also be an option).

Alright guys now I really feel I don’t put enough effort in my meals

@Koestrizer @aldebaran Thank you, I’m certainly not a gourmet cook or anything, I just like my food, and i get a lot of enjoyment out of it. If i just ate plain food, I’d be robbing myself of some of my favourite things.

@aldebaran @Koestrizer For people that don’t have cooking as a hobby I think Robert Rodriguez (filmmaker) advice from The Chef Show applies very well (Season 1 - Volume 1: Episode 5) [00:01:39]

ā€œDon’t go making one or two dishes that are really difficult that you’ll make once and never try it again because they’re too difficult. Learn the food that you really love the most. What’s the food that’s your go-to meal, you’ve always loved in your life and perfect those. Those three meals.ā€

Well I have pretty much 3 meals that are the same everyday ahahah but I never bother to do them for looks, and I don’t have fancy plates anymore

I think the idea isn’t about aesthetics but taste rather

Committed Week 4, Day 25 committed2020

Weight: 76.3 kg

A1. Seated DB shoulder press
A2. Rope face pull

3 sets, last one to failure

B1. DB lateral raise
B2. Lying face-down on the ground holding dumbbells in the air

3 sets all to failure more or less

C. Plate overhead raises

100 reps, started with 5kg, dropped to 2.5 after I’d hit contractile failure more than once and dropped again later, ending with 1kg.

D. Prone trap raises

Some sets and reps

Fun fun, got a pump pump

Maybe, maybe not. Perhaps some of your photos aren’t there because you didn’t post them though

I post lifting videos even though I don’t think I’m ā€œgood enough.ā€ I share photography with people even if I’m critical of it. I practice other hobbies with people even if I don’t think I’m great. I don’t avoid sharing or participating in things out of fear of not being good enough.

Dude, your food looks great! I’m jealous. I’ve been cooking 6lbs (2.7kg) chicken and about a kg of veggies at the start of the week and that’s the basis for most of my snacks/lunches. It’s way less beautiful and probably less delicious but it does the trick. I’ll post some shots in my thread sunday when i’ve finished cooking the next round, just to show how boring it can look.

Do you have a slow-cooker? A Dutch oven?

Birthday check-in!

Morning pics

Treating friends for dinner later

Gonna go and get a nice leg pump now with a friend.

Won’t log today, will fill in another day.

@dagill2 I was on a great and fun date yesterday! Was worried I couldn’t have that part of the emotional spectrum anymore so very happy to find out that’s not true.

That’s awesome to hear man. Lifting heavy stuff is cool and all, but being happy is a million times better.

And happy birthday old man, you’re catching me up

Both, I also recently came into a grill which is what I’m doing most of my cooking while the weather is not terrible.

Happy birthday fella, hope you have a great one.

LEGOS

A. Smith machine back squats 3x8-12

Hate that all the smiths are angled. Top set at 80? 100? Went one rep shy of failure. Not trying to die. Bodybuilding deload week. Had a friend along. Focused on ensuring she had fun (first time in the gym in a long time)

B. Glute kickbacks? 3x8-12

These were good. Need to do these. More sets to failure. Really highlighted a unilateral issue. No surprise but. Do more of these somehow

C1. Leg extensions
C2. Leg press

Get a nice quad burn.

D. Darden Abdominal Stack A

This is still a favourite. Can’t ever do the situps at the end though. I insist it’s because I’m awesome at burning out my abs and not rely on other muscles!

Didn’t sleep much

Weight: something north of 76. Forgot to log

AM Climbing

5b (set for top/climbed on lead)
6a (lead/lead), semi-pumpy because of a weird flow. Rather lack of flow between holds. Climber’s elbow irritant, despite decent clipping
6a (top/lead), super lovely flowy easy. Should be 5b.
7a (top/lead). Couldn’t finish, took the wrong path in the bolts - continuing risked banging head into a gnarly corner and reclipping wasn’t an option. Got a good pump and some nice falls and epic Ondra-screams though. Totally fried after tho. Just wanted a nap.

Need to become more proactive with my climber’s elbow.

PM Lifting

Deviating from my comitted plan to something inbetween my first commitment and my second commitment. I’ll write about it later.

Some push pressing, not too heavy but above ohp weight

A. The Press 5x3 with AMRAP set
50
50
45
45
45 (6+1, some breath at the top)

B. RDLs 3x10@100

120 in the cards but not post-climbing. Had to use straps after climbing LOL

C. Triceps overhead extensions 3x10-15
D. Another triceps cable exercise taken to true failure. Managed to hold the point I failed concentrically for like a minute. Insane.

Explored some stance widths between sets today. Both of these feel great and on the narrow one ATG is a possibility but I really have to allow myself to twist my feet these way and pull actively with my hamstrings while allowing a lot of knee travel
