I didn’t want to revive an old thread, I found a periodization scheme you wrote about in the past,
I assume straight sets? If yes to the latter, would you use the same number of work sets for all phases? Would it be feasible to ramp instead and then do a small number of back-off sets?
In that case ramp to one RM set (most weight you can use in good form for the prescribed number of reps) and 1-2 back-off sets with 10-15% less (same number of reps).
Thank you Coach. With your clients that use straight sets do you use a fixed number through all phases or is it four work sets for the first three phases and five for the final phase?
