Phones drain everything of value

The only notifications that I get are text and here. Those I don’t even hear because I keep my phone on silent. I just check it too much. I check the news probably once a day just so I’m not completely ignorant of the world around me. Honestly the only thing I really over do is T-Nation.:rofl:

my wife downloaded a Bible app that reads it aloud to her . . she uses it when she’s working around the house or driving

To stop noodling on my guitar instead of continuing to learn.
I find myself not progressing because I have limited time to play so I use that time to play instead of learn.

Going for that elevated view. If anything even if you don’t view it as inspired,I’m sure it improves Ur IQ

Would alternating what you do in each session help? Or assigning certain days for specific types of practice?

My situation is different insofar as I’ve got plenty of time, just occasional lack of focus/what to practice. Working on that for 2026, but also giving myself the freedom to just run scales or improv with backing tracks if that’s all I’ve got in me for the day.

Yes, ideally this would be good and where i’m at now is learn/practice skills on weekend mornings with the intention to practice throughout the week what i have learned over the weekend so I am ready to progress the following weekend. I am hit or miss with this. I’ll get it figured out though. Time has just been getting away from me these last couple months. I’m hoping things calm down a little for the first part of the year.
I also work on guitars/amp so that also cuts into my playing time unfortunately. I love doing that just as much so sometimes it’s a hard decision if I have to choose.

Maybe I should just retire so I have more time for hobbies!!! :joy:

One of my main motivations for being fianancially successful is so I can retire early and start a dinner club

Same. Specifically wanting to get more fluid with blues style expressive playing. Gifted myself a looper for Christmas.

I have this too. It actually keeps me from wanting to be around anyone except my immediate family. Not sure where it came from but it didn’t used to be there.

Acoustic or electric?

Electric… built for metal

Nice! I like those. Dimebag Darrel played Ibanez

Dime played Dean, Washburns… Got to see him live 4 times before his death. But Ibanez are very popular amongst metal guitarists. Easy playing guitars and great body styles. Morbid Angel is my favorite DM band… Trey and Erik both played Ibanez at times
