I liked the finale even though some of the questions were never answered. I watched all the seasons on netflix since a couple of months ago. This whole season has been disapointing compared to the others except for the Richard Albert episode.
Does anybody have any good links/sites where they have read good summaries or interpretations? I would love to see what has been written about the final episode.
I would also love to see some naked pictures of Kate.

There are some excellent recaps here: http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20313460_20387946,00.html
I still haven’t found any naked pictures of Kate.

The bomb didn’t kill them. Jack really did die from the knife wound. Those who got off the island died from whatever causes through the course of their off island lives. Or, they might have creashed in the ocean, who knows. Hurley and Ben could’ve died 1000 years later, once they’d have found their own replacements as protectors. Basically, the island was real. The deaths and the escapes were real.
Sideways was simply them moving to come together once each one had died. A purgatory like existence that allowed each one to find some closure, make ammends, whatever. And it wouldn’t have mattered if one had died in 2008 in the real world, and the other in 3008. Their purgatory existed outside of time.
This makes no sense for the following reasons:
First of all, they spend half of the season showing them how they spend their afterlife?
What is the reason for the show besides telling us they find “happiness”? Sounds like a superretard-happyend deluxe. Half of the show wasted- which could have been used to tell us what the fuck is going on.
Then, why ignoring what happened since the crash? This parallel universe had the distinct feature of being crashless only to confuse the viewers? Sounds great, mysteries for it’s own sake.
Desmond’s mission was a crucial plot in the season. Turns out his mission had no impact on the whole “save the island”, instead all he did was manipulating lives to bring them “happiness” in an alternative dimension where memories were erased and he had superpowers. And what did he do, for instance, to bring Kate or Sayid happiness? He reunited them with the group and selected a blonde lover for Sayid- sounds like a perfect afterlife?
It makes no sense.
And we could go on and one here, not even touching the fucked up and abandoned main plots…
You know, when I finished watching the episode, I loved it. Ever since that moment, the shitness of it is settling in. I feel more and more cheated, the more I think about it. SO many plot points with greater impact could have been tackled but weren’t.
And they threw two million red herrings in there, just for good measure. I did enjoy Quinn and Fox’s acting - the nostalgia scenes were quite poignant but this can never take away from the fact that they basically lied to us over a good 6 seasons.
It could’ve been wrapped up in 2-3 seasons. Oh well.
I liked the ending, I didn’t like the rest of the finale. I wish they would’ve wrapped up the purgatory/sideways reunions in the second-to-last episode, and then devoted the majority of the finale to Jack and MIB. I agree with many that MIB’s death was lame, as was Desmond’s ultimate role. I also would have liked to see Sayid reunited with Nadia instead of Shannon.
I definitely agree that the writers went a little overboard with the “leave it open to interpretation” and could’ve done a better job tying up loose ends.

Fuck Lost.
I watched the first few seasons, and then it started getting weird and retarded during Season 3 and I stopped watching.
Yesterday I watched the finale a bit with my mom as she explained things to me. Apparently, Locke is now the Smokemonster… wtf?
Yeah, fuck Lost. Sounds like the creators of the show didn’t have an end-game plan that would make any sense, so they had to come up with some stupid shit to end the show.
I’m with you. During Season 2 I spent a couple weeks getting brought up to speed on the show. Season 3 came around with some horrible ass episodes and I called it quits. Haven’t seen shit since then.

The second question? Can’t help you there.

spoiler
I hated lost since it went retarded at the end of season 1,with a passion. In Ireland,we didn’t get the episode till Monday night GMT time,so I took the liberty of finding out the ending on wikipedia and posting it as my status on facebook.I took great enjoyment in ruining the buzz of the people that hogged the tv every week in school.Ha.
I loved the whole lost saga, what bothered me most about the ending was that they never explained the tangable questions like:
Who was dogan in the temple.
who built the temple and whats its purpose.
Same for the statue.
Whats the story with jacobs cabin.
How come mib cant cross the ash.
What were the dharma folk really at.
How come the dharma had a station in LA.
Just to name a few.

It made sense to me and apparently others here. Maybe you’re just mentally retarded. You don’t get it so you don’t like it. You are simply “slow”. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
And where the fuck was Mr. Eko?
Perhaps the smoke monster finally dying WAS his escape from the island.
I’m disappointed that my six seasons of loyalty didn’t amount to anything. Anyone who says that all the unexplained plot holes “preserve the mystique of the show” has been drowning in the Kool Aid.
That’s your opinion. I’m not drowning in any kool aid and I loved the ending. It focused on the most important aspect of the show, the relationships between the characters. I thought it was well done. There were some things left unexplained but nothing to me that was egregious that leaves me frustrated.

This is probably what killed the series for me haha. Mr Eko was cool. He was a decently big guy and I liked his approach. When they killed him off I was sad…

It wasn’t just a dream.
I didn’t say that.
There is a technique in storytelling that goes like this, and it’s been mostly lame for some decades now:
various shit happens but in the end, it’s not a big deal, cause it was a dream/ a big misunderstanding/ the afterlife etc. Everything is restored and thus, a very quick “happy end” can occur…
Do you realize that they were only dead in the “sideways timeline” that began in season 6? Even in season 6, everything happening in the island timeline involved living people, it was not an afterlife.
Ignore my post.
Though I wish that man in black had a more meaningfully treated end.

Yea, those ones.
The finale was very well acted (the remembrance scenes in the “Purgatory” world especially) and did the characters justice I thought, but I was expecting a little bit more out of the story.

Alternate ending for lost.
