No Promises This Time

Last couple of days did some quick lifting, a good swim and a run. Apparently relatives who are at my house all the time and will be checking on it while we’re gone will be doing white glove inspections. I know the wife has cleaned everything at least twice. All the suit cases are packed and brother number 4 is taking us to the airport tomorrow. So I’ll be talking to you all once I we get settled in. Keep up the good work.

Outstanding trip. Everything went exactly as schedule and arrived safe and sound. We always try to fly ANA (All Nippon Airlines). Never fail to give the best service. Going through the jetlag stage now. Quickest way I’ve found to get over it is get up at the normal time you would and don’t sleep in. Weather permitting heading down to the beach first thing in the morning. Welcome back fais do-do/magpiyesta (party) Saturday. Be in touch.

Routine so far:

  1. Lift - all free weights but do have one overhead pulley attachment for tri exercises. Not really much of an adjustment as I didn’t use that many machines before. The standard thickness bars (1"?) do take getting use to especially when doing cleans and deadlifts.
  2. Run/swim flat or run/swim hill. The hill run after a heavy rain is just too slippery. Longest estimated swim so far has been 2k. Still getting re-adjusted to the wave swimming. No jelly fish so far and only one very small shark sighting.
  3. Escrima. All my relatives are sadists. But I cheat a lot so it’s okay. Me, 98k, my nephew sparring partner the other day, 61k. Yea, it’s fair.
  4. Partying. Since it’s the “Ber” months Christmas decorations and music is everywhere. So are festas. Latest Kamayon Feast more commomly call “Boddle Fight” at the beach.
Will try to post more soon.

Looks like you are enjoying yourself. Good to have you back around.

No wonder you go there. How long is that thing?

Fish: Tambukal (yellow fin tuna), bangus (milk-fish), maya-maya (red snapper) and squid, shrimp, eel, roasted pork and chicken, veggies (ocra, yams, eggplant, red onions) assorted fruits (kiwi, Papaya, Jackfruit, tomatoes) bowls of soy sauce with spiced vinegar, chiles and garlic in it (hot). Bed of rice and laid out on banana leaves. Lots of Red Horse (high alcohol beer) and Emperador (brandy). Buckets of water to rinse your hands cause that’s what you’re eating with.

I say it was probably near 14bmetres. My nephew made Police Commander for Zambales, the province we live in, so it was a really big fais do-do.

Wow! That’s quite an assortment. Not sure about the eel but everything else sounds delicious :yum:

Oct 13 - Very long, but very good session of escrima. Worked in sai and tonfa work from my karate. Sai vs knife was interesting.

Clean/Press (floor up) - to 85k x 1,1,1
slight incline db presses - to 25k x 12
rear delt raises - to 17.5k x 10
ez curl - to 40k x 8
reverse curls (ez bar) to 37.5k x 12

16 Oct (this morning) - Torrential downpour all day so far. Tried something different. Elevated feet pushups. Feet on chair, maybe 45cm. 25 x 3. Liked the feeling.
Gonna get some padding and improvise some fat grips. Just can’t get comfortable with the smaller diameter bars.
