Happy Birthday indeed. Great benching. Nobody’ll give you a set of pink weights for birthday present.

3 years ago when they replaced my sholder that they put in in1995 they said this new one’s good for 35 years. That’ll only take me to 99 so gotta find a year somewhere.

Thanks. Just tryin to hang in there.

Thank you. Hope I’m still as active as you in a few yers.

Thank you and you are very welcome.

Swimming for a full hour. Natatorium was almost empty. Follwed by a 2 mile run. Came home and
mowed mine and the neighbors lawn. Thanks to all for the Happy Birthdays. Good birthday. Over indulged with both food and drink. Woke up feeling surprisingly good. Spent a good part of last night on messenger talking to family all over the world. My son in Africa with Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders), even mangaed to get through. He’s headed for, you guessed it, Ukraine. C’est la Vie. Family in the Philippines is excited about our coming arrival. A nice 35c/95f but only 80% humidity today. Shirtless will be the uniform of the day.

Not wishing you any bad luck but, glad thay weather moving on. It slawned numerous tornadoes in the Austin area. I was ay my 91 yo house and had some kind of wind shear or small dry tornado there. Blew up a dust cloud so thick I couldn’t see my car from her patio ( maybe 20 yards) it was crazy! Broke small limbs out of oaks and knocked down a couple of telephone poles.

We just had lots of wind, hardly any rain. We’re about 70 miles north of Arabi.

Yesterday spend a full 3 hours at the dojo. Only about 1.5 hours doing kata and bag. Rest of the time was baby sitting the dojo. Owner had to take care of some business and all his staff members couldn’t make it. A favor. No instruction which I refuse to do with the way things are now days. Open dojo time so an assortment of mainly middle age beginners and one green belt working on their poomse for the next promotion. Not too painful a time. Good deed of the week.
Went for my semi-annual blood work and will have my “Wellness” appointment in a week. Came home and did a lot of stuff arounf the house and yard getting it ready for when we’re gone. Getting bids from young great nephews on mowing my lawn while I’m gone. 'But I’m you’re Uncle" doesn’t get you free labor anymore. Hope to hit the gym tomorrow.

It’s the older ones in High School offering to do it cheap. I’m sure they’re envisioning a nice place to party on the weekends.

Great day at the gym. Story time. A kid we call Pope comes up to me. 11th grader, 6’4", around 225, doing sets of 10 on the bench with 275 squat sets with 375. Placed second in the State Wrestling Championship. “Uncle” (all the young ones call me that.) “I only got 2nd in the shot and 3rd in the discus yesterday”. “How far’d you threw?” He told me. Being the kind, nurturing type I responded with, “You suck”. (hey, 30 years military, I need some sensitivity training) Ended up behind the gym, he had a shot and discus in his truck. Worse form I’ve ever seen, and that’s saying alot. That he hadn’t torn out his shoulder was a mystery. Typicial “I’m strong and I can muscle it”. His coach, assistant Football coach who got tagged to be the T&F coach cause he ran the 5000m in high school or something. So, “will you do what I tell you”? “Yes Sir!” Took his 12 lb shot, did a standing power throw 4 feet farther than his throw the day before. (Yep, bragging.) “see what I did?”“No it was to fast”.“Exactly” Stories getting long I know. Went through the whole F=MA,taught him the politically incorrect “elbow the midget, slug the giant”, taught him the difference in putting and just throwing, had him “bowl the discus”. Bottom line. He beat his shot throw from the day before by 2’ and the discus by 7’ Good pupil. Told him to come by the house after school for a few days. Has the potential to be really good. I felt good went I left the gym.

Awesome story, Harry.

This made me laugh. I think I’m a’ gonna try shot putting something, anything, tomorrow just so I can put that “coaching” into action
