No Promises This Time

As much as you exercise I can’t imagine you being unable to use a regular squat bar. Life is unfair.

Always had a had time getting under the bar. Never could do the back stroke either. With the injuries/surgeries to the left shoulder arm just won’t rotate back. With the old adjustable racks I could put my hands all the way out on the collars but not with squat racks. Old pix I’ve shown before. I was 27

I’d a fish bowl / tank of water in ice form, cause hydration is key…and that ice was surrounded by by about a litre of gin. Pink Floyd was put on and then the good, the bad and the ugly. Happy man

A man after my own heart. Have a bottle of Brighton Gin a friend gifted me a couple of years back. Think I’ll finally opened it up this weekend. May mix in a little tonic to keep off the Maleria and to claim it was only for medicinal purpose only . And just to show how old I am, Ii still have the vinyl LP soundtrack record of the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly I bought after first seeing the movie when I was around 12.

yer ground looked pretty soft, how was the ground for the rotations ?

I have a 3/4" thick, 4’ x 8’ semi smooth piece of plywood I throw down so the ground doen’t effect me. Not as smooth as the concrete circle but right now good enough. Arms just getting where I can go all out.

River was down and the current not too bad. Broke my swim into sections to be safe.
250m with, 250m against, 5 minute rest, 250m against, 250 with, 5 minute rest, 250m with, 250 against. Dried off, changed and did a 2 mile run. Lunch was a baked chicken and an assorted tomato, red onion, sliced mozzarella cheese with a balsamic glaze dressing salad. Delicious. Wife got the recipe from a magazine while getting her hair done.

Putting the weights down from the shoulders is starting to yank on the traps. No bumper plates. Cousin Mike said take some of the old weights out in the back and just drop the bar on the grass. Outside lifting in the fresh, hot air. Just like a redneck Venice Beach.

Hit the gym at 0600. Set up the bar for zercher’s when my state of the art cell phone, one step above a pager, rings. Big brother Remi, “Petit frère, my house, now”. Warning/disclaimer for those not use to my posts. I does, on occasion, ramble on and diviate from posting on working out or training (see, I’m modern). So for the Joe Friday purists, “just the facts” this got nothing to do with working out/training, or what ever it’s being called now. Continuing on. So all 6 brothers are gathered at Frère aîné house for what turns out to be a “come to Jesus meeting”. Into all families there’s that one, or more, relatives makes you ask yourself, “this sperm won the race?” Bottom line, Frère numéro deux’s grandson has a “landscaping business” (he mows friggin lawns). He does my mother’s, his great grandmothers yard. Usually eats lunch with her after doing the yard. His Father, my nephew, finds out he hasn’t been vaccinated. Seems he’s got himself some “freedoms, rights, and liberties” and doesn’t have to. He, stupidly as hell, explains his “freedoms, rights, and liberties” to his Grandfather, Vietnam to Desert Storm vet, and his Father, Desert Strom to Iraq and Afganistan vet. His bruises will heal eventualy. Frère Remi then laid down the law. Any one who hasn’t been vaxed, been around someone hasn’t been vaxed, thinks they got some reason to not get vaxed, will not, under any conditions come near mutter who is 95. If they need it explained to them they can come see him. A sister in law and 2 nieces, nurses all, will stay with Mutter for a few days to make sure she’s okay. I think her nightly glass of Spätburgunder protects her though. Brothers no. 4 & 5 and I decided to discuss the situation at the VFW, and then at the American Legion, then at home. Copious quanities of alcohol helped the discussion. Oh, never did finish my leg day.
