Probably ground contact it’s going for $70 + now.
Solid work on that last session. Nice volume at those weights. That’s unbelievable about plywood being that expensive. I feel like that is about double what it used to be? I’m a lumber hoarder. I guess it finally paid off…
May be too real for some. May not even be appropriate for this forum. After several Jameson’s, very little sleep stupid of me to be on social media. 5 days ago got a call from a friend’s wife. He was in a bad way. Demons keep coming back and he couldn’t shake them. I was a young NCO when he first came out of pipeline training in 1979 and was assigned to my team. We did Grenada, Nicaragua, Columbia, Angola, Zaire (Congo), Rawanda (100,000 +s bodies), most of the Balkin conflict (mass graves), Desert Storm, Haiti, Just Cause, Somolia, and many other actions together over the course of our careers. Both of us eventually retired. Kept in touch. I come from a military family with vets from wars since WWII who understand when the hoodoo comes round and are there for you. He only has himself and his wife. They say 22 vets a day kill themselves. Anyway, his wife called so I took off to South Georgia. Skipping the details but finally get him into a VA facility, again. Maybe this time it’ll help him. Got back home earlier today. Might try sleeping in a day or two. Sorry for the dose of life here. May sober up and try to erase it.
Good on you harry for being a good friend and there for your comrade in arms. I really hope it work out for him. Much respect.
A beautiful day. Temp hit 32c/90f. Early morning did a 1000m in the river. Late afternoon did a 2 mile run.
Thank you for your service. Very sorry to hear about your friend, but glad he is receiving medical care. He is lucky to have a friend like you who is there to help. Solid work on that swim and run. It reached 90 this weekend here too. The crippling humidity hasn’t set in yet though…

Good day at the gym. Started off having coffee with Cousin Mike the owner. Lot of the regulars came in and were hitting it hard, good music playing, beautiful weather.
Grilled up a nice ribeye for lunch, wife sliced up some cucumbers w/vinegar and baked some halved brussel sprouts with olive oil and seasoning. Kicked back in the lounge chair for an afternoon nap. Life was good today.
Nothing beats an outdoor nap!
Hope ya washed the steak down with a few beers ![]()
Or a good scotch
Was given a bottle of Dalmore 15 Year Old Single Highland Malt as a present a while back. Still haven’t opened it. More of an Irish Whiskey guy or Jack Daniels when I’m slumming. Of course in the Philippines I get some top shelf at $1.25 a litre.
Morning at the dojo/dojang. Lot of kata and then poomse work. got in some bag and stick (escrima) work. Gotta look good when i get back to the Philippines.
You sure that isnt the petrol they put in their scooters!!
Naw, the petrol cost more and tastes better.

Swim-1500m had some rain yesterday so the river was running a little fast. Easy out, harder back in. Followed w/a 1.5 mile overland run. Spend the rest of the day collecting supplies for our cook out at the “Tut” Fann State Veterans home Monday. Saturday night so sipping some Maker’s Mark bourbon and getting ready to light up a Gran Habano # 3. Getting ready to push play on "Gojira 2000, subbed, never watch dubbed.
Spend all of Monday at the Veterans home. We cooked up hamburgers, Hot Dogs, and ribs. Various salads, typical picnic food. The Honor Guard from the Redstone Arsenal came out and performed a great missing man ceremony. Sat most of the time and listened to stories of lost comrades and past battles. Couple who were at the Bulge, One from D-Day invasion, one of the last of the “Frozen Chosen” and a lot from the Korean War, several from Vietnam Era. Big brothers Remi and Jean-Luc sat with them and swapped lies. Got busted for smuggling in cigars and booze but the director turned his head like always. Today hit the gym hard. Cousin Mike actually reached into his real deep pockets and got some new stuff. Seated delt machine, hammer incline press, a few others. I just went around playing on the new stuff.
Sounds like a good day. It is amazing that we still have veterans from WWII among us.
According to the VA there are around 300,000 American vets who served in WWll left but many pass each day. They, as all of us will, will pass into history. How the future generation will remember them/us remains to be seen.
Really crappy day weather wise so spend 3 hours at the dojo. Kata, bag and stick work. Always feel good after a workout at the dojo.
