Thanks man. I’m still getting the feel for pendlays… so many people speak well of them that I’m going to hammer them for at least another month or two and see what it does for me. Lats IMO are a weak point of mine (not that someone of my size should care too much about weak points yet).

Yeah, they aren’t kicking me out, but I can kinda see the writing on the wall. It just confuses me that I’ve done virtually the same amount of deadlifting, 1-2 times per week, for well over a year, and no one’s said anything.
At the moment, I’m just doing a Push/Pull/Legs split I made myself. I experiment with the assistance exercises somewhat, but I make sure every push day has an OHP and bench, every pull day has t-bars or Pendlays, and every legs day has deadlift (and also now that my knee is healed up, has a squat). I try to do a lot of submaximal volume (sorta like CT’s HP Mass and Wendler 5/3/1) so I recover quickly enough to train frequently.
2 days off is good for me to hit a muscle group so I just work out every day I have time, which 99% of the time means 5 or 6 days in a week.
Test maxes every 6 weeks or so. In three weeks before I head off to Vegas, I’m going for something like 290x3 bench, 435x3 deadlift, and 190x3 OHP. No idea what I’ll shoot for in squats since I just started doing them consistently again. 275x3 might be a start.

Yeah that’s exactly what he had me doing.
I thought about doing that with the mats, but I can’t imagine deadlifting off a soft surface. I’m thinking I’ll use 45lb plates next time. I wonder if they’d let me deadlift if I bought a couple bumper plates and kept em there.

almost all my workout shorts have underwear built in… and when I wear one of the 3 pairs that dont I wear compression shorts underneath. Im engaged to a girl… I said it was ok for girls to wear undies… Only if they’re hot ones though lol

Worked out in a different golds tonight, the bench I laid on for bench press was horrid… so soft and fluffy I didn’t feel stable at all. I’m thinking I’ll use this gym for deadlift days, and use the one that yelled at me for push and pull workouts. At least for now, I’ll play it by ear though.

-here I started doing Pullups until I got 25 reps (total 6 sets / 27 reps), started supersetting with triangle-grip pulls but it took me into the first 2 sets of the rear delt flyes. From there I supersetted the whole time, but it got messy in terms of logging it because each new exercise started halfway through one being done. I’ll log them as straight sets but I was always alternating exercises.

WHAT A FUCKING NIGHT!!!
First off, speed dating was an epic fail. Let’s just say that I did it as a “fun thing, something to do on a wednesday, meet new people” and the girls all did it as a “I desperately need a guy who will pay attention to me”
Every girl there had like one tragic flaw. Hot girl with a huge ass mole right on her lip, cute girl who stood up and faced you and you realized she was as wide as a trailer home, and the only perfectly attractive girl who was just WAY too excited to talk to a real live male (she lives in WVA). I mean, DC has plenty of attractive women - there was ONE out of TWENTY who I would go on a date with. The sheer odds of that poor of a turnout are preposterous.
Then, I went to my favorite bar down the street, and the talent was horrid except for one really hot girl. So I asked her if she came there often and she said “um yeah I work here, I see you like all the time. But you’re always really drunk and it’s hilarious”. DAGGER!
Went to a different bar, and we ran into my roommate’s ex-gf’s best friend. His ex who pretends he doesn’t exist, and lives in New Orleans (met in Amsterdam), has a best friend in a freaking random bar in northwest DC.
Also, the bar scene on Wednesday nights is henceforth referred to as “Ugly Wednesdays”
So, I’m going to a different golds to deadlift tonight. The power rack area is isolated from the rest of the gym pretty well. Only problem is it’s more crowded because I’ll have to go after work.
Really hope the squat racks aren’t taken when I get there. We’ll see.
It’ll be time to test maxes soon. My goals are 290x3 bench, 190x3 standing OHP (no leg drive), 435x3 deadlift, 275x3 squat (I could be off by 40lbs in either direction… have no idea what my squat max is right now)
