OK, I’m writing this before I actually work out (don’t like it? tough) because I won’t have time to post tonight and I already know what I’m gonna do. Hopefully I can get some semi-scandalous pics up from my halloween party next week… and OH YEAH next week is heavy single time! Vids of me being crazy strong on tues/thurs/fri.

Party Update: Party was off the hizzy! I was a little worried about turnout but we got about 30 or 40 people crammed in here when it was peaking. I went as Lt Dangle from Reno 911 (and went commando, fuck that was weird). I might throw up some more pics in future log posts… basically this post was an excuse to post my buddy tebowing.
I had multiple girls tell me I should not be wearing short shorts… not quite the action I was looking for.

5/3/1 Meet Prep - 6 weeks out, Day 2 (Squat)
Squatted with VTBalla again. You can see his purty face in the video as he spots me. Thinkin about joining up in Fitness First, they have prowlers and oly platforms and it’s only $30/mo. Plus VT and I can be besties and work out together!!!

300 was way too easy for 95% of my meet goal. I honestly felt like I could’ve slapped on another 50lbs and gotten it no problem. Fixing my form has had a huge impact on how strong I feel - particularly in the hole but throughout the entire movement as well. I could kiss VT for the coaching… but, um, I won’t.
2 weeks from now when I work up to my opener again, I’m going to treat 290 as my opener instead of 270.
Feeling a lot better about hitting 1150 without needing a 500 deadlift.

Off day today, permit me to ramble/update a bit:
First off, my bodyweight is completely stuck at 226-228. I will be the lightest 242 in history. I am throwing caution to the wind and upping my cals to 5000/day till the meet, I want every ounce of strength possible! A couple extra protein shakes will get me back to 2g/lb and add a couple hundred calories, that should be enough.
Secondly, I used my belt for the first time last night and it was COMICALLY loose. Sooo I gotta send it back and I might have like a week to break the new one in… sigh. Tried on the singlet, it was a bit loose too but I think it’ll be fine.

I wish I could tell you why I’m stronger at OHP than my other lifts, but I really have no idea. As far as form, I really didn’t think I could stand that wide and hit parallel, but I think the stretching has helped, plus I had never really tried with “working set” weight. I need at least 200+lbs on my back to get down fully when I’m that wide, maybe more. 160 kills my IT bands but I didn’t feel any flexibility issues on the 300.

Kickball ended tonight. Awesome season, met a bunch of people, but frankly I’m stoked to have my wednesdays back. Tomorrow is a shitty ass work day but I will try a bench PR at some point. Kinda wish I didn’t have those last 3 beers though.
