I just got a prescription for Adderall from my doctor to help with my ADD/anxiety problems. However I just came across something that said not to take it if you are taking L-glutamine. Does anyone know about this? Cuz I take a lot of BCAA's and add L-glutamine to my shakes.
i read over that on pubmed awhile back i think, but i used to take L-gult with adderall all the time with no ill effects. although it is my personal opinion that glutamine is not worth the money in the first place.
i have used it in the past in large and small amounts with no results, it is beginning to surface that glut is not really an effective supp. at least that is what i feel, as well as the majority over on a different board. anyways i never had any problems taking them both together in high doses.

Your doctor prescribed you Adderall, a combination of amphetamines, for anxiety? Personally I think the whole ADD thing is blown way out of proportion IMO. I don’t think its a good idea to take a drug to make yourself do things that you don’t find interesting. By reading your previous posts it seems to me that you have a no problem paying attention.
Now threw my own experience I got a prescription for adderal about 6 years ago thinking it would help me work better. It didn’t work. In fact I think it made me worse somedays but stacked with an ECA combo and it makes a good fat burner (true but I’m kidding around). With that aside I took l-glutamine and BACC’s with it sometimes and had no problems, plus I still made great gains in the gym. After a few months on I stopped taking it and realized it made no improvement to my life.
Adderall will ruin your heart.

this may be true for you, and u are entitled to your own opinion. adderall may not be the healthiest thing in the long run, but for some people it may be beneficial or other medds if need be. now i will agree, i would not recommend it for anxiety, but it is not uncommon for that.
everyone is different, some people really do need adderall or something to help with ADD, but not everyone dose. i wish i was like u and did not have to take drugs like that, but to be honest it has turned my life around in the right direction.

Although I think there might be a use for amphetamine prescription drugs, I think it is WAY OVER prescribed especially with children. Why give it out? Because some kid in the 5th grade was getting bad grades in english class or he gets into fights? This is what kids are supposed to do.
Once the early signs of masculinity start to rear its ugly head, then there’s some doctor that wants to dope him up with with ritalin or adderal. They tried to put me on that shit in the 3rd grade because I was trouble maker, got in fights, and goofed around in class.
Thank God my parents didn’t let em. I’d probable would of ended up a miserable SOB in a cubical.
IMO these fu…'n drug companies are making profit at the expense of our youth, and doctors are becoming dope peddlers.
Tell me what is so wrong with you that need adderal? What you forget where you park you car? You just don’t find fun to do the dishes anymore?
Honestly I think you’d do better with some omega 3 fatty acids. Serious, They really help brain activity (You can buy some on this sight).
I take ritalin for narcolepsy, which is very similar to adderall. I havent had any bad effects from an interaction. the only thing is that you have to be careful of ur blood pressure if you are taking prohormones or steroids. the adderall can make ur blood pressure go up, as will prohormones and AAS, so together that may lead to prehypertension or even hypertension 1

Hagar, I have to say that I completely agree with you.
Which came first, the condition or the medication? It’s like the drug companies invented a whole new range of conditions just so they could peddle more drugs - to children of all people.
“Hey look, the guys in the lab just invented this amphetamine-like substance that makes you concentrate a bit more, on mundane shit. Who can we target this drug at?”
Personally, I think that 99% of so called ADD/ADHD, etc is nothing more than bad parenting, combined with bad teaching, and a lack of social support and interaction.
Also, the fact that nobody seems willing or able to take responsibility for a badly-behaved child has to play a part.
“It’s not our fault that little Jonny keeps disrupting class, oh no. He has ADD you see. The doctor said so.”
So it has nothing to do with the fact that you both work, and that neither of you have shown precious little Jonny the meaning of discipline and respect then no?
Sorry, ranting.

I’m not sure when the ADD ADHD disability was invented, but I bet some PHD figured he’d come up with it to get himself in the text books. He might of thought "Why is it that some people just don’t pay attention to me, Why the other day I was telling Fred about planting tulips in my garden and he did not seem like he was interested.
Well it can’t be me, because I find myself fascinating, after all who doesn’t like tulips? Therefor something has to be wrong with Fred. Yes thats it$. Thats what’s wrong with everybody$$. They have an attention deficiency disorder$$$$"
Now you kids better behave or else its off to see the Doc. He’ll cure all symptoms associated with childhood. You’ll finally be able to sit and listen and take proper notes in class without goofing off. Then when you come home, you can watch TV for the rest of the day and not bother your parents.
I don’t know if any of you ever tried this stuff but for about an hour after it kicks in I could pay attention to paint drying. Then after that I felt withdrawn and antisocial (in an Anthrax sort of way lol) It felt as if my creativity was getting sucked out me along with all the true passion that I have in life. IMO The stuff works great at making functional drones for society. Someone’s got to do it though, just not me.

Very good!
I like this, and shall steal it, lol.

No problem with you taking that for the cause. Hope you save some kids with it.
I used to take adderall before training. I’m not sure about it reacting with glutamine, but be careful with it for sure. It seems to interact with everything. Limit all other stimulants and take it easy as you lift.
I quit after using it before a heavy leg and back day. After an intense bout of dead lifts, i got dizzy, saw spots, had tunnel vision, felt nauseous and felt like my heart was going to explode.
People were asking, with genuine sounding concern in their voices, if i was ok as i sat on a bench.
I’m not sure what the deal was but haven’t used adderall for training sense and have not experienced the feeling.
Just take it easy as you get used to it and add a few supplements at a time to gauge how each one may interact.
Adderall will totally make you a work horse (I owe my college degree to it) but I don’t know why your doctor would give it to you for anxiety. I have anxiety and that stuff makes me go insane. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great time, but I wouldn’t advise it unless you’re the type who’s into painfull fun.

Gee, that’s funny. I have taken adderall for 9 years and my EKG said that I have a athletic heart. If you don’t take care of your health, it might effect your heart due to the unhealthy crap you ate all your life.

Keep telling yourself that. Good luck.
For some people with ADD/ADHD, Adderall/amphetamines are a life saver. I agree that it may be over prescribed for children in some respects. There’s a number of theories of why/if ADD/ADHD is increasing.
Peanut allergies used to not be very common. Look at the prevalence now. Peanuts seem to be banned everywhere these days it seems. The same with a lot of other ailments these days… autism, juvenile diabetes, etc… People’s shitty diets I believe are a big cause.
People that suffer with ADD/ADHD have the same stigma as people with hypogonadism, depression, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, etc… If you don’t have it, it’s hard to understand it.

The EKG told the doctor that, then he told me. Where did you here that it will ruin your heart?
i took adderall for 3 years went off for 3 years and now am back on it unfortunately. I hate it, but i need it for math, when i was on it, it was the only time i ever made a C in math, and i plan on getting out of school next year, ain’t gonna do a 5th year of high school, so i don’t care, i’m taking it. It works great, but makes you feel horrible.

Could you back up this claim please? I am interested in the benefits, negatives aspects of this drug.
