Ninja Assassin

I thought it was great. Awesome fight scenes, tons of blood and limbs getting cut off. I didn’t think the story was that bad either. But, I do go into these movies with somewhat lower expectations.

Ong Bak is a kick ass movie as well.

Mindless blood, people being chopped in half, CGI heaven. It looked like a video game… I’d say wait for the DVD. I got to see it at a pre-screening on a Monday. I wouldn’t pay to see it only because I’m cheap.

If “Kill Bill” and “Enter the Dragon” mated and had a baby, you’d have NA.

All I have to say is NNNNNNNNIIIIIINNNNNNNNNJJJJJJJJJAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

If you thought Black Mask didn’t have enough blood, and Machine Girl didn’t have enough action, you’ll like Ninja Assassin.

I make no promises for people who haven’t seen both movies previously.

I was surprised at the amount of smoking. At first, because it was there at all (Hollywood seems to be taking an intentional step away from that sort of thing these days), and then, because there wasn’t more of it (I mean… Rizome, or whatever his name is, is Korean. Smoking is their national sport)

My wife and I both enjoyed the movie. The acting (I can’t believe no one has mentioned it yet) was atrocious by the cop (forensic researcher) and her boss. Thankfully, the lead wasn’t asked to do too much acting, and what he did do, he did well, in a simple way.

The story is decent enough. Not meant for surprises, just enough bones for the meat of the action to hang on.

The action in the first scene, I thought, was the best in the movie. The decapitation was the most realistic I’ve ever seen in film. But then the later action scenes had a comical amount of blood spurting in massive quantities.

My measure of a good action movie is whether I am entertained and whether I walk out wishing I could do the stuff depicted. This movie did both.

Whoever said the acting sucked can go watch The Notebook.

This movie was a pleasant surprise. A lot of ass kicking and the hero actually took damage.

If you’re a man, go see it. Support it with your money. And punch the people who walk out of New Moon.

See it! It’s MORE violent than I thought it would be. And only 1 kiss in the whole movie! It’s a bad ass flick.

Whoever said the acting sucked? It was me, just one post above you. Sheesh. And if you disagree you’re wrong. The acting in the Notebook was far superior, sadly. Unless you actually think the two actors I referenced acted well (and god help you if you do), read the rest of my post and agree with me. Agree with me!!

I guess you think the kids in New Moon deserve an Oscar for acting as well. Jesus christ.

Ninja Assassin: GO SEE IT. Twice.

Oh yes…she taught me secret techniques after the movies that night. She’s been holding back on me all of this time. Especially loved the Octopus tentacle ninpo…felt like 1000 tongues all over my bawls.

Neat.

What did you use to practice on, though?

This movie was like anime made flesh. Ultimately I thought the action scenes were a mixed bag and some of them could’ve been done better (the slow mo bits in 300 still stand out in my mind as some of the best choreographed action scenes to come out in the recent past. Jackie Chan style stuff is also good, but I don’t know if it’s really suitable for the vast amounts of CGI that were used here) but some of it was really, really cool. I’m excited for the progression of this genre.

I wouldn’t know anything about the acting in New Moon. Nor do I know what the hell it has to do with the acting in Ninja Assassin. Are you serious?

By the way, I love your avatar right now. Awesomely ironic.
