I read in the newspaper today that Yzerman is having back pain and may not be able to play tonight. Say it ain’t so!
I still think the Wings can win though. ![]()
I’ve gotta say: I’m surprised Colorado is up 3-0. They kinda went under the radar for most of they year and never impressed me much. I hadn’t really followed their series against Dallas much either and then suddenly they’re up 3-0.
Game 4 tonight in Mtl.
For those who don’t know, playoff time in Mtl is nuts. Actually playoff time in any Canadian NHL town is a frenzy. The Bell Centre is rocking. Mtl should have walked away with a 3-0 lead over Carolina, but Ward won them the game.
You know Ward was living a dream the other night: first playoff start as a rookie, plays the game of his life and wins it. Congrats to him.
Go Habs Go.
MAAAAAAA-RRRRRRTTTTYYYYYYYY’S better!!! Thats for you biltrite, I could have sworn you said LAMEquist was much better. I think I put it best when I compared him to that other swedish playoof bust 1/2 a hit wonder Johan Hedberg. Nice showing though, the rangers managed 4 goals in 4 games. 15 in a row and counting!!!
Finally, the NJ/NY series is over and this pissing contest (after a few parting shots) will finally be over. Sorry if I couldn’t care less about either team – I’m a Western Conference guy and I didn’t come here to read nineteen pages of NJ/NY yammering.
As for the prospective Edmonton-Calgary series, I don’t know. Of the teams in the playoffs, the main one we have struggled against has been Calgary.
The series would be great to reignite the rivalry, though, so I’m all for it, even if it means that one of my two favourite teams to watch has to leave. Both arenas have been absolutely nuts – Rexall Place reached 108 decibels the other night.
Actually, I’ve been a closet Calgary supporter for a while – they have a style that I enjoy watching (and I live in Calgary). But, now that the playoffs are on, it seems like all the Flames fans came out of the closet and started talking shit, so it’s hard to cheer for the Flames anymore. It’s easy to shut most shit-talking Flames fans down, though, by reminding them that 95% of Flames fans are bandwagon jumpers – they couldn’t have given a shit about the Flames before last season’s cup run. It shuts them up because it’s true – all of the shit-talkers I’ve talked to weren’t there for their team when they missed the playoffs eight years in a row. If you are one of the 5% of true Calgary fans, then I will give you respect… but I don’t give a shit about turncoats or bandwagon jumpers.
Of course, we’ll first have to finish off Detroit. If they play like they did in the second period today, they will. I thought it was kind of amusing how tons of people always jump behind the Wings, but Wings fans were booing own their team and the arena was half empty with a minute or two left in the game. I guess that’s what you get when your team is a bunch of dirty, pick-running divers. (I’m not even referring to the Stoll ‘pick’)
screwed up my post. oops

I hate to admit it, but Calgary is full of them. I wore a Team Canada sweat shirt to a workout after Canada got smoked at the Olympics, and many questioned my fashion choice. I explained that I was not one of many (as in cowtown) limping around in a cast from jumping off the bandwagon.
Calgary and Edmonton are much more similar than they are different, maybe that is the reason for the rivalry. As a Calgarian this is very hard to write, but historically Edmonton is the much better sport town. Shit, that hurts.
I used to work with Pat Laforge, the Oiler pres. I would love to have a beer with him if Calgary and Edmonton play each other. Too bad I’m not in the country.
Calgary played well tonight, I hope they finish the Ducks off in the pond. Go Oilers - an Alberta showdown would be great.
Iginla is playing the way he can - scary for opponents.

And it’s about time.
Scary for Teemu Selanne!
Monday night is going to be the big night for all us Albertan’s. Be a good night to sit down for 6 hours or so and watch hockey. I’m thinking both the Flames and Oilers are going to close the series’ on monday. With the Flames and Ducks it will likely either be a 3-2 win or its going to be a blow out. And for the Oilers and Wings I think that one is going to go into OT, though if the Wings come out and play like they did for the regular seaon I dont even think with Rollie playing as well as he is that he can keep them in the game. But I dont think Detriot has it in them to come out like that. Either way its going to be good to watch.

I’m just going to be pissed if they cut out to the Calgary game partway through the Oilers game. It looks like I’ll miss the third period at least, damnit…
I was ready to start a revolution when they cut out of OT in the Oilers game to go to the scoreless first period of the Flames game. Apparently, they did that provincewide (not just in Calgary) and Oilers fans were PISSED.
Living in Calgary sucks, if only for that one reason. I really hate the CBC.
Fck. Fcking Habs. F*cking heads up their asses.
I’m gonna lose it if they let Carolina win 4 straight games.

Agent Orange, you are probably too young to remember this, but Dave Hodge got fired by CBC (mid 80’s) when they cut away from a playoff game in OVERTIME. He threw a pencil on live TV and said, “Typical CBC!”
Who expected Colorado to win in 5? Wow.
I wonder if there is some sort of curse on Quebec hockey. The Nordiques were sold and move to Denver, and win the Stanley Cup the next season.
Theodore plays brutal this season, gets traded, and is very impressive in the series win over Dallas. Turco get his butt kicked by Theodore.
Well Agent, unless the oilers goto OT tonight, we should get to see both games, seeing CBC was able to get the flames game pushed back for a 9 pm start. Going to be good watching the 6 hours of hockey.
What a beautiful goal for the Oilers to win that game. Great game is the only way to say it. Wish I was up there for the party, but Calgary is going to have its own party hopefully tonight. Always love it when the grinders take out the skill teams.
The wings game tonight was fucking horrible… we were pwning all the way to the third period and just died… sad.

I’m very sad about my Red Wings. ![]()
At least we still have the Pistons, and the Tigers have had their best April in years.

I hear that. Had all the family around the TV and in the first and second we were so happy thinking the wings were heading back here to Detroit, but we just got to sloppy in the third. Oh well, like you said, Pistons and Tigers are doing damn good. at least theres that =D.
