NHL Playoffs 2006

knocked the FUCK out. That hurt just watching it.

According to Pierre Mcguire, the book is out on Huet.

I guess no one has a copy yet.

PS: Thank god the Hurricanes are having goalie issues and Cole is out! We now might actually make it to round two.

Does anyone believe Jagar is really hurt. I think he realized that they don’t have a chance of beating the Devils so he quit.

Oh yes, the Playoffs are back and I am so happy, except for the amount of penalties that have to be called nowadays. Playoff hockey is best at 5 on 5, it is so much more intense, and fun to watch. Im hoping im not the only one to think so…

So anyway, the Sabres are looking good. They are so damn fast, and you gotta love Afinogenov! Im saying either Sabres or Senators from the east, if Emery keeps his composure.
How about that Dion Phaneuf and Kipprasoff from the Flames, anybody? I def think they could make it again, but I do like the Sharks lately. Joe Thornton needs to help out a little with some scoring, eh?

GO AVALANCHE!!!

I personally don’t think they’ll make it very deep though. Losing Peter Forsberg hurt way too much and now they have problems putting together back to back games of good offense with good defense. But even with that being said I still think RED WINGS SUCK!!!
I strongly agree, bc i am a Swede and definitely bow down to Peter. But, I think Patrick Roy’s retirement hurt them the most. Since then the Avs havent had a goalie that they can truly rely on and trust. Roy was the deciding factor, Forsberg was the deal killer.

And now we have Aebischer and the AVs got our goddamn Theodore.

I hope he start being good again (Theo), he’s still a good player in my book.

All the Montreal Goalies always had problems with the fans. Especially if they are french canadian (ex: Patrick Roy).
We the fans ask too much out of them and every goddamn piece of french canadian media are always trying to find the smallest problem of their out-of-hockey life.

Anyway, Huet and Aebischer are going to help us get pretty far in these play-offs.

I agree. The crackdown on obstruction in the regular season helped speed up the game a lot.
Prior to this, there had been a big problem with clutching and grabbing slowing down the game.

However, the playoffs are a different season. There was NEVER a problem with playoff intensiy or flow in my opinion. The number of penalties being called is ridiculous and is slowing down the game more than helping.

I say they should ease up on the calls in the playoffs.

There were two calls out of the twenty two in the game that were legit penalties, the bording against jags and the high stick from poti…everything else was ticky tack bullshit that even under the new rules werent penatlies…they called an elbowing call when the guys elbow was around the guys waste for fucks sake

and lundquist played well, theres is not a single one of those that I think were saves he should have made…maybe the rafalski shot from the point, the rest, he was hung out to dry by a tired penalty kill. THe fact that the devils couldnt do jack shit even strength and got out worked and out shot 5-5 gives me great hope. Those refs wont be refing another game so the rangers have a chance as long as JAgs isnt tooo badly injured
So far you’re out playing us 5-5 in this game too. Unfortunately you can’t beat us 5-4/3 WITH the one and two man advantage. This should be mylast post to you, the real unfortunate thing is that this series HAS to go 4 games.

Anybody notice how the Flyers have been goin after Brian Campbell all night tonight after Sunday’s hit?

I love it. Even Robert Esche flew over the handle after letting in 5 fuckin goals in one period.

Mtl over Carolina in 2nd OT. Great game.

Still that excited for it?

The rangers have the better goalie, the better defensemen, and the better superstar, and an ex devil with a chip on his shoulder. If the rangers play as well as they should they pull this out in 6 games.

LETS GO RANGERS
Just to be clear. Is their better goalie the one who started the first game and sat the 2nd game? Or is it the one they didn’t want to have to rely on, but started tonight because of the poor play of the 1st one? Just want to be clear on which one is better than Brodeur.

I disagree that too many (legit) penalties are being called.

Clutching and holding is not really a part of hockey. If we can get rid of it, then the very good players will be able to outperform the not as great players.

Simply hooking the body with the stick was a great equalizer. I’m really enjoying seeing the faster players who can stick handle – that’s hockey!

the only bad thing about the sabre game was that since they were kicking the shit out of philly so bad, I had to miss most of the 2nd and third periods because the center ice package that i paid for , switched to the ranger game , because it was more competitive. - sucks being out of market and not being able to see my hometown boys- go sabres!!!

Hey, where’s that Rangers fuck now?

Looks like this year will be no '94 for you fellas.

Rock on New Jersey.

are you as dumb as you are bad at sarcasm? Survey Says: YES

Henrik is injured, he missed what was it 13 straight games to end the season, played in one, then a playoff game, of the goals he let in, not a single one was a savable shot other than maybe the rafalski point shot. Hes a bit rusty, clearly looked a little bit in pain when making one of the saves in the second period. What are you going to do. The rangers have arquably 4 of their most important players injured in Henrik, Jags (by his own stupidity), Rucinsky, Kasparitis (by far their best defenseman) all injured.

Is sucks, Im bitter but eh, circumstances arent favoring the rangers as evidence by the goals tonight, any break that hte devils could have gotten they did and the rangers didnt. Product of hard work? maybe, but the fact is the refs are continually taking the game out of the players hands. They called slashing penalties on sticks, elbowing penalties on solid checks, boarding penalties on any legit hit, and interference for tieing up peoples sticks…its a shame that they have taken the toughness out of playoff hockey.

Nobody gives a shit about New York or New Jersey – start a new thread and be gone!

See now the problem I have with your complaints is that you said that the DEVILS form of obstruction ruined the game. Now you are hwining because your rangers are to slow for the DEVS and they are getting whistled for interference and the likes. Pick an argument and stick with it. And much like Johann Hedberg(the other swedish one hit wonder) in 2001, Lundqvist will fizzle out.

first of all i never said anything about the current devils team being obstructionist. second there is a huge difference between clean hockey with hitting and stick checking and clutch and grab…the devils of old were definitely the latter, the refs thus far have tried to eliminate the former.

You talked all that shit going into the playoffs and knew exactly what condition Lundqvist was in. Am I going to make you choke on your own words and eat shit for it? Survey Says: YES

The refs have been calling a close game, but don’t blame them for the horribly undisciplined penalties that the Rangers took. Malik must know by know that he’s 6’8" or however tall he is, and that if he gets his elbows up they are going to be in someones face. That guy Hallweg … is he mentally disabled or something? Why the hell do they even play him? He has gotten so many stupid penalties its getting rediculous.

And not that it matters much, but I’m a Devils fan because my Father’s cousin played on the team for 10 years and I grew up watching him, and the Devils, win Stanley cups.

Lastly, AgentOrange: I think we have more of a right to be in here than you do. When was the last time any team in Canada won the cup? 13 years ago? Okay then. Even Mr. Rangers fan over here has a more recent cup than all the teams left in your country.
