So how close to your current physique were you before TRT?
@NH_Watts
Congrats on quitting the booze man. I quit for 5 years after another āhobbyā finally caught up with me. I started back a couple years ago but I get crazy with it (still not good though). Not sure your story with it but sounds like you are in the right place mentally to do it. One thing that really helped me was club soda. Drink club soda when you normally drink and it does something mentally that helps. Good luck and congrats!
Yeah the sparkling water has been my go too. Or water with lemon TBH. Im not too picky. I really donāt need to substitute though. Its not even on my mind.
Nice watts!
Actually when at a party and offered drinks it feels pretty manly saying No.
who the hell needs all those extra calories in addition to the liver poisoning affect.
Yeah I will have no problem saying no. I see it differently nowā¦more like a poison like you mentioned. It was a mental shift, I just have no need.
And thank you. I feel like I have been given a gift.
So many high level athletes have parents that were high level. One was taylor phinney. he rides for EF Education a team that competes at the Tour de france. Then you have tennis players, Football and Basketball players with kids who are coming up. its not only lifestyle, you have to be genetically gifted ā¦
Then you have the anomalies. Weird monstrosities. Genetic defects, because they should be short, fat / skinny dorks.
I for example . my parents totally nonathletic as F⦠and never lifted a weight in their life. My father jogs with his head down. hes scared of tripping lol. My mother or father never drank, smoked, touched drugs or got high ever. Yet i cant stop drinking, snorting cocaine and pain pills if i start. I also am much more athletic and have a nice build for certain sports.
I think parents and forefathers pass down genetics. they are sometimes hidden and need to be unlocked. I dont care how hard a parent trains a child from when they are younger. They will not be pro material without the genetics. just does not happen.
They always talk about a nobody, couch potato who never trained, and picked up a sport and killed it. Several in the cycling and running arena. The sleeper.
Got my mind thinking and damn its a a 12 day old post.
Bro tell me something. Does a big increase in Test dose make a considerable difference in muscle gain and strength?
I am so happy for you. A true alcoholic would be shouting from the rooftops āI havenāt drank in X daysā. You arenāt an alcoholic. Someone who is would never be able to stop on their own. They always return to the drug and until they are either miraculously saved or are facing a horrible situation.I personally donāt drink anymore because i just cant have one F drink. i hate it. i love that buzz. But i cant accomplish moderation. Neither with heroin or cocaine or marijuana⦠I am officially fugged.
Its always impressive when i see someone stop and not obsess. Then i think how they are normal and i am not.
Hmmm⦠Interesting question. Strength wise= pre trt 225 bench for 3 reps. Post trt 225 bench for 17. Iām much much stronger. To me aesthetically I havent changed much but my wife says itās dramatic.
@alldayeveryday
How long have you been on TRT?
January will make 2 years on trt for me
Well I have to thank Allen Carr and his quitting method. This is a zero willpower method so I dont feel like I have actually given up anything. On the contrary I have gained so much. I am very happy to have quit but I will not virtue signal in regard to it.
You dont have pics pre TRT that you can compare and see? BUT suffice it to say you were in remarkable physical shape before TRT?
How long did it take for you to notice improvements when you quit drinking the first time? What was your drink of choice? Only asking because you mentioned comp changes and was wondering if it was the caloric content of say beer versus spirits. I am trying to drastically cut my consumption and wondering if I would notice comp changes where mine is whisky and diet soda, just due to the body working more efficiently minus the alcohol.
To be clear I didnt quit drinking or try to. I took a 3 month hiatus to try it out. Within the first couple of weeks I dropped a lot of water weight and overall inflammation was considerably less. To be clear (again) I drank red wine, spirits M, T, W and Th, F, Sat, Sun was mostly beer and bourbon. Ive cut the beer out before and stuck with wine and spirits and it did make a difference but not as much as complete abstinence.
That is more what I was planning on is a break. I havenāt gotten myself to say Iām swearing it off completely. I am guessing it is causing my issues with thyroid, due to the inflammation caused by the alcohol. That strengthens my resolve to make a change.
Well when you are ready to make a change I recommend Allen Carrās book. It will be the nail in the coffin to get it under control and will give you the mental tools that you need.
Heās on audible I hope
Yes sir. I went the audio route as well.
Im sure I can dig up some old pics. Not on this phone though. I was in decent shape pre trt. Very unhealthy in general but in decent shape.
