NH_Watts' TRT Log

The results are in and although I need to do further research now Im going to say that I should be supplementing because this seems quite low.

Has anyone else had this test done and would you like to share your results and supplementing protocol please?

@physioLojik would appreciate your input please.

“Need to get to the bottom of my memory issues. I guess I am still slightly foggy as well and motivation/excitement for things has been diminished lately. Still a bit tired in the evening but up at 5a and exhausted by 9p prob not unusual.”

Good info. I will add my labs to this log once I get them in the future.

What do you think your plan of action will be? Supplementing with preg? Isn’t the cream the most bioavailable? When first getting into TRT, having to deal with all of these hormones was part of my anxiety. More things to worry about getting zeroed.

As far as working out, how do you feel? Libido? Is it only those symptoms you mentioned or are you also tired through the day?

Yeah I have a bottle of 100mg sitting in front of me on my desk right now.

Not sure. Maybe physio has some insight. Most of the TOT roundtable docs speak of pills.

Killing it. Ive been changing things up a bit to more dynamic stuff with a lot of mobility work. I will still get in a heavy set 4 days a week but everything else is functional. Need to keep this aging body limber so trying something new.

Slight lower BUT its still there just not driving me constantly.

Yeah it is really just the memory and fatigue that are the big ones. Maybe a bit of bloat too but that could be due to my protocol.

I am VERY interested, if you remember please tag me in your posts about this.

Ok, so are you going to take a pill? what is the daily recommended dose? Any chance it aromatizes into e2? (or is that just DHEA?) do you think you will have to supp DHEA also?

Sorry I am super interested in your thoughts on this. I feel I will be in this position at some point.

I’m taking 100mg daily on empty stomach in am. Along with dhea and D. Pill form.

I am.

No real recommended dose that I can find. Some take 100mg+ and others 10mg a day. Dr. Robert Kominiarek puts his patients on 100mg if they are complaining of memory issues. He is on the TOT doctor roundtable.
Regarding E2 Im not entirely sure. Based on the below graphic Chol → Prog or DHEA → Andro → Test → E2. Since we aren’t making T I’m not sure if that affects that T to E2 conversion.

maybe it will who knows. Maybe it’s very little. I’m sure plenty of talk would be out there about e2 issues due to these hormones being supplemented .

When I see low preg I increase cholesterol in the diet. 9/10 times it corrects itself. When needed start very low. I would always rather someone just add in some grass fed butter and animal fats to get the cholesterol up and let the body get It’s own raw materials.

Interestingly enough - if your DHEA is very high or very low and preg is low we would look to fix adrenal health.

Thanks man. I can honestly say that I already get a ton of cholesterol in my diet. Four eggs a day, grass fed butter last least once a day, untrimmed beef a few times a week, full fat cottage cheese a few days a week, sardines, etc.

My DHEA comes in low-mid range:

DHEA SULFATE

267

70-495 mcg/dL

Are you using a lot of salt? Be sure to use it a lot.

So much so that I question it constantly.

Obviously this is the best way to go if its corrects the issue. Isn’t the problem though that Preg is mostly produced in the testes? And if we aren’t running anything like HCG , we would have less preg being produced? Can this still be resolved by increasing cholesterol?

No. Preg (which isn’t a hormone to be specific) is created in cellular mitochondria when the body signals it is needed. Food for thought - when the body has exo test it’s need for preg is substantially lower. It’s also found in the brain and adrenals. Much more is produced in the adrenals than in the gonads.

interesting

So is the hcg to Preg a minor conversion and the majority is created the way you stated?

HCG doesn’t convert cholesterol to preg. LH and FSH do which is why taking tamoxifen on cycle helps

If you want to increase it you can also drink real cranberry juice to increase cytochrome p450

Back to kid time now! Woohoo paternity leave

Yes I do need to consider this again too.

Hey bro, keep us posted on what you decide to do. Did you already take the pill?

LOL…yeah. I took it right before lunch  I will let you know if I notice anything.

I suspect I am getting enough cholesterol. I also switched over to grass fed butter, and I use it everyday basically. Cook my eggs in it and use it on toast, liberally. I also use it for my steaks when I cook them. Eating about a pound of steak a day at lunch everyday, I also eat cottage cheese but I eat fat free.
