Where is pregnenolone produced?

" principally in the adrenal glands, but also in the liver, skin, brain, testicles, ovaries, and retina of the eyes"

Right, what I meant is… If your low on Preg, then your low on DHEA, and also TEST and E2.

Oh right. Yes. They say If you are low on pregnenalone then your libido will be affected but that just means T and E2 are low. Same thing you are saying.

Very interested in your tests. I have a lab lined up (whenever I feel) and I believe I have Pregnenolone and DHEA also on there.

I already have two DHEA tests from last year. The most recent one is from 9/18:

DHEA SULFATE
267
70-495 mcg/dL
DHEA-S values fall with advancing age.
For reference, the reference intervals for 31-40 year
old patients are:

Male: 106-464 mcg/dL
Female: 23-266 mcg/dL Show Less

Your taking dhea and Preg right. I’m curious how long it takes to absorb into the system properly. What if anything does one feel…Only think it’s been about a week.

No sir. I am not taking either yet. DHEA doesn’t look that low to me but Dr. Keith Nichols says he likes to optimize to 400-600.

I am waiting on my pregnenolone blood work I got yesterday.

What was the first DHEA, do you remember? Did it decrease on the second test if you remember?

I had my DHEA tested when I first started TRT and it was somewhere like 560 106-464, so it was high.

No it went up from April to September.

DHEA SULFATE

222

70-495 mcg/dL

So maybe you are going to stay in that general area in regards to DHEA.

Yes he does. I’m taking 25mg dhea and 100mg pregnalone sr … whatever sr means.

Did you ever take the thyroid meds like armor Or whatever. I’m trying to find some feedback on folks who have tried it while on trt.

I have not tried any thyroid stuff. Last TSH was 1.15.

Were you deficient in preg and dhea? Did you have symptoms? How long and how are you feeling?

I’ve been on 90mg armour thyroid a day for 3 weeks now. Nothing notable to report from before taking armour thyroid, except one noticeable difference.

Pre-armour, I could ā€œfeelā€ my test kicking in about 16 hours post injection… It was unmistakable, I felt awesome… Lots of energy and overall sense of well being.

Now, I don’t feel it like I did before. I kinda miss it.

No weight changes… But maybe more appetite, even feeling hungry after eating a full meal.

I think I still need time to reach a steady state and I need bloods… But so far, a tad underwhelming actually.

@enackers update with my numbers:

TSH - 3.53 uIU/ML (0.400 - 4.100)
T3 Total - 0.91 ng/ml (0.80 - 2.00)
T4 Total - 5.3 MCG/DL (4.5 - 11.7)
TRIIODOTHYRONINE, REVERSE - 14.3 ng/dl (9.0 - 27.0)

I’ll know next week about those two. Haven’t tested them. I don’t feel great or Normal yet. Doc said thyroid will help allot since my tsh was so high. He believes that’s ill fix my fatigue and tiredness. Can’t wait to get my hands on it. They had to special order the chemicals to compound pills without pork product.

I also recently switched to cream with the cypionate still in my body … so it will take a few weeks to get that out of my system. Until then I’m probably sitting in the 2k range … can’t tell… blood pressure is fine as well.

Interesting thanks man. Keep an eye on my log in the coming weeks. I’ll ask the doc about this. I am trying to stay off google. Too much false or opinionated information. It’s hard to filter through it… I’m going to take that blood test tomorrow. I’ve been lazy and should of done it last week… I would have a full thyroid panel in my hands by now… anyways thanks and I’ll keep an eye out for any new benefit you find.

I just noticed your tsh is 3.5 mine is 5.5 … I think you experienced that honey moon phase and then it dissapeared . Thyroid was just a coincidence and not the cause

I’ve been on TRT for 15 months. Currently on 40mg EOD. I’ve been feeling that ā€œtest kicking inā€ 16 hours after for at least 8 months. I know the feeling well and loved it. I’m certain the armour thyroid is contributing to the lack of feeling it.

I don’t have studies, but have read armour thyroid can increase SHBG. I’m waiting 3 more weeks before getting blood work, but I have a sneaking suspicion my SHBG has increased, tying up that precious free T!

Either way, I’m staying the course and we’ll see.

Thanks again for the conversation. I’m interested in following your thread.

Well never mind then… I just learned something new. I’ll keep an eye out for it. Thanks

Eh, I don’t know what’s going on with me. I guess it’s not bad per se, it’s just that I liked that feeling I’d get when I could feel the test.

It’s a marathon, that’s for sure.

@enackers - reading studies always confuse me, but looking at this one, I would deduce armour thyroid would increase SHBG.
