Also, is this the year New England’s offense drops off? Hernandez in the homicide probe, Gronk has a lot of injury issues, Welker is gone and Amendola is made of glass. Gonna see a lot of Ridley and Vereen out of the backfield, and maybe a sleeper TE right now (at the first part of the season) is Jake Ballard.

WTF are you gonna do with an old trough-style urinal?
I would put it along the back wall of my garage. I already have a urinal in there as it is, it’s just for one person though. I work out in my garage, except for this time of year when it’s about 100 everyday up here, and I usually have a friend come over and lift with me. With a trough urinal we can stand next to each other and awkwardly sneak looks at each other’s cocks if we have to take a piss between sets.

I actually think that would be pretty cool.
The section that I’m in got rid of them a few years ago, but I’m not sure if the whole stadium did or not.
I remember somewhere in this thread, or maybe the last draft thread, I opined that Vernon Davis might make a good receiver and should be moved to that position if the Niners found themselves short on talent on the outside. I was roundly shouted down for asserting that one of the better TEs in the league might actually do better split out wide.
Wel, fuck every single person who ridiculed me. Looks like Davis took snaps exclusively at WR this past minicamp. He’s a matchup nightmare out there. He’s a physical mismatch against smaller but quicker DBs and he’s fast enough to run right past some of the bigger but slower DBs out there, like Browner and Sherman in Seattle or maybe even someone like Revis, although I think Revis could probably shut him down regardless. He also has pretty shitty hands and I think that playing out wide might actually mitigate that factor some. I mentioned previously that he has trouble handling passes that are rifled at him through tight windows. I’ve seen him take several beautiful passes from both Smith and Kaepernick right in his facemask.
But out wide he has a chance to get further downfield on his routes, where a little less velocity might be on the ball and where more passes are going to be thrown his way with a little more air under them. He just has trouble getting turned around quickly and getting his hands up in time. But out wide that isn’t the same issue that it is when playing TE.
It’s reassuring to see that the Niners’ coaching staff is thinking along similar lines that I am. That alone gives me even more confidence in them this coming season. It wasn’t widely reported in the left-wing media, but I was brought in for a couple of interviews for the position of offensive consultant that Mangini ended up getting.

1 - I was def one of those who was highly dubious of Vernon Davis’s upside as an outside receiver. This was simply because he’s never looked “natural” as a pass-catcher out there and its also fair to wonder if he’s got the lateral agility (vs straight-line speed) to succeed on the outside. Obviously, time will tell.

Fuck it, go big or go home. No Lewis here. Ring him up murder one, fuck it. Pats passing game is shit right now anyway, who cares if you flush the last remaining turd or let it float?

I don’t expect VD to play receiver.
He already lines up split out quite a bit so I’m assuming this run at WR is more about him perfecting his route running and learning all the route combinations rather than him being moved to wideout.
He might go out wide a little bit but I think he’ll play TE and be flexed out like he was before.
Like you said, he is a matchup nightmare but some of his advantages will be negated when matched up vs corners instead of linebackers and safteys.

I can’t believe it! I’ve been plotting some way to get those two seats out of the stadium before they tear the place down.
Hilarious that thread regulars can absolutely confirm this.

I definitely remembered him talking about bringing a wrench in for the last game…

Well, After seeing where the seats are I don’t really blame him, lol. Those where killer seats. Sort of a bitch for a far endzone scoring play, but pretty good none the less.
I really hope the Jet’s improve their offensive line this year. It has been horrid for the past few seasons. Im liking the Bengals to win their division this year. The ravens D is to depleted and the steelers need some new blood on their D as well. Pun intended.
Antuan Boldin was a great player last year the 49ers are smart to get him . Does anyone know how RG3 is progressing from that leg completely being destroyed?
Just an observation but last year was one of the better seasons in terms of exciting games to watch. I hope this year will be as exciting as last.
