^HAHAHAHAHHAHA… Matty!!! That shit was high-larry-us.
I’m gonna have to take your word on the Muslim. You being local and all. Do you think he’ll get more time at NT? I wish they would bring Jenks back to tutor the kid. & yeah, 6 picks is a lot. With Tanny you just never know what he might try to pull off.
Oh? & one more LULZ… for getting rich.
I feel the same way, Im hoping they bring Jenkins back, but if they dont I think NT would be the spot.
I just read Rex’s transcript. He isn’t even going to play the kid at NT. He’s going to play def. or tackle. So maybe the plan is to bring Jenks back.
I’m kinda hoping Torrey Smith will be around w/one of our picks too. Being a Md boy myself I saw a lot of him. The kid is a big, fast, good hands, receiver. If we don’t re-sign Holmes or Edwards, we better have a back up plan.
Well I’m happy with us going after Julio (though would of preferred AJ Green). Falcons are gonna have a pretty potent offense this year but I’m definitely worried about all the draft picks we gave up to go get Julio. We definitely need some defense if we’re ever going to be super bowl contenders.

Ha! I posted in the NFL Draft thread a couple of months ago saying Cam Newton should be picked no. 1. Some were even adamant he wasn’t even the best qb of the draft. Just wanted to address the Cam haters out there, of which I assume there a quite a few. That is all.
Just because he was picked number one doesn’t mean anything has changed or been proven. The ‘haters’ can only be addressed after he’s started a couple games.
Sorry for being MIA yesterday, I think I blew a gasket after the 49ers pick. Didn’t love it, but we’ll just have to wait and see how it pans out. Some say Aldion Smith could be the next Ware, wouldn’t that be nice.
I was just weirded out that we spent another first round pick on an A. Smith.
Come on now.
I’m aware of that but the same people that are hammering Newton behind their computer screens are the same people that thought Tom Brady would be a nobody, that Eli would never win a ring, that Vick would never come back, (that the Boys would win the title lol)…etc you get my point. Plus Cam Newton is already a winner. Have you seen that smile + )

Ha ha ha - really? Did you see the tape of him dropping 5 yard crossing routes? Also the lowest or second lowest wonderlick score. A dummy with bad hands?
As always time will tell but almost unanimously viewed as an awful move by the dirty birds.

I have a bit more optimistic view (rightfully or not). I look at Mike Wallace (Steelers) as an example of what Julio could be. Wallace dropped everything in college (I went to Ole Miss and saw it all happen first hand while I was there ugh) and many never thought he’d amount to anything in the pros. Now he’s one of the premier deep threats in the game. I’m not saying Julio will do the same thing, but he has the potential to do so and with Matt Ryan throwing to him and White still being the person that DB’s will target he’ll have a bit more time than he’s used to.

I’m not sure how or why you are so critical of Julio Jones - because the “draft experts” aren’t. Did you ever watch that cat play? It’s pretty easy to show 2 or 3 of the worst plays he had in college - I assume you didn’t see any of the ridiculous circus freak catches that the 6’3" 230 receiver made? I’m just curious, because I’m not sure if people are making the connections here. Roddy White and JJ on the same field? That’s just nasty.

What in the holy hell are you talking about? How are you even making that connection between those other QBs - That is one of the biggest strawman arguments I’ve ever seen.
No one is saying Cam isn’t an elite talent. Here’s the facts: When Jon Gruden interviewed him, he couldn’t even recite one play from Auburn’s playbook. This is overhyped in terms of Cam’s intelligence, but it’s more of a nod to Auburn’s blazingly simple offensive system. He went through three different universities in three years. He has also proven to not be a traditional pocket passer - something you’re going to have to do in the NFL.
He has a tremendous upside but is also an extreme risk at the same time. It’s really no more complicated than that.

Hahaha. I thought it was a little curious as well. Aldon may end up being a bit of a sleeper, though, we’ll see. Could turn out to suit the team very well. I still like Prince much more in that position.

Totally understand what you’re saying which is why hedged my comments with “time will tell”. And of course you have a more optimistic view - it’s the draft - all of our teams are going to the superbowl baby!

Naw, but seriously, I saw you and Matty talking a bit about the Jets pick. How do you feel about it? How do you feel about it say… versus DaQuan Bowers?

I’ve seen the highlights and there were plenty of ridiculous catches. There were also some things I didn’t like such as he seemed kind of slow and the bad drops. When interviewed he wasn’t very articulate and the wonderlick score is concerning. That being said I don’t think he’ll be a bad player, I just don’t think he’s worth what they gave up for him. Had they picked him with their own pick (regardless of the where it was) I wouldn’t be down about the selection.

Million dollar question rt there, isn’t it? I think whomever picks Bowers will be full of win. I don’t care about the guys knee. He’s been cleared. He’s a stud & will impact pass rush immediately.
Think about the drive this guy is going to have after being passed over by every single team.
