what? are you guys serious?

26 solo tackles, 6 assisted tackles and 0 (yes that is ZERO) interceptions by the best defender in the league during 13 games? lololol

Revis is NOT the best defender in the league.
I notice your lack of giving another example. Cornerback is not about stats, this isn’t fantasy football. He consistently completely shuts down the very best receivers in the league. Complete beast. You could make an argument for Pat Willis or Demarcus Ware but overall I’d give it to Revis.
Sorry guys but I think this one is a better shut down corner.
I would agree that he is just as good, but not better. Check stats against the same receivers. I think you’ll find Revis’s numbers are far ahead of Asi’s. Though I wouldn’t mind if he were playing opposite Darrelle.
He is not going to the Jets, he is going to the Boys. His old coach is now our DC and we didnt pick up a CB in the draft. Slam dunk baby.
What about Houston? Its now or never for Kubiak to bring them to the playoffs. Adding Namdi could be the missing link.

If you were Namdi would you go to a team never been in playoffs, or go to play with your old coach? Houston has never spent big money in FA and he has been on a team like Houston for years.
I like Houston and is my AFC team since I live here. However my Boys are my team, I think Namdi could get us deep into the playoffs.

Namdi was going to be my example. He has been a better corner for a lot longer than revis. Revis wasn’t nearly as good last year as he was the year before. (maybe cause of the hold out, maybe cause of the injury, maybe cause the corner opposite him was also good so teams couldn’t just not throw to his side and still be ok all the time)

Namdi is a better and more consistent corner IMO.
Reed is the best saftey in the league and is a threat to pick one off and take it to the house on every pass play. The best defender IMO (sucks about his neck)
Willis is an absolute beast, I completely agree but he’s just starting out too.

I think you have to be a proven commodity to be considered “the best _______ in the NFL”
Two or three seasons doesn’t prove that to me. Do it consistently for 4,5,6,7 years and then you can be considered “the best in the NFL” cause players have great years all the time but can’t string them together.

This is all just my opinion though. Given the choice of an “In their prime” Revis or Reed to start my football team I would pick Reed.

EDIT: I am a big Revis fan BTW.

That depends… Do I even like my old coach? lol

I’m w/Red. If not Revis than who greg? He changes the offensive game plan single handedly. They can only throw to one side of the field w/him on a corner. Limits your entire O. You might wanna take another look & re-access your position.
If you went with stats he had most picks in the NFL last year and only played 10 games.
Ed Reed proudly from St. Rose, Louisiana - Destrahan High School.

Patrick Peterson will be competing with these guys soon.

yay!!! football talk!!!

Someone may have already brought it up but does anyone want to guess when the lockout ends and if we have a full season or shortened seasoned? My guess is this friday(July 15th). I just have a good feeling about it. If it is, I would confidently say that there would be a full season.

I think there will 100% be a full season, they are getting close. I even think there will be a full preseason!!!

True, but here is the other aspect. IF they get this deal done how long are guys going to get to learn a playbook prior to the season? Namdi will go with his old coach for that reason alone. If he struggles to learn a playbook in Houston could hurt his career.

wether or not there is a full season, there will be so many other side effects of this, less prepared players, more injuries, less playing time for un prepared rookies, did you guys hear what peyton manning was saying about needing his trainer and the neck injuries?

That is what ESPN was mostly saying last week. I just heard John Clayton say the money stuff was settled and they were negotiating rookie scale, etc. He said 7-19 and back to work 7-22, which would mean full season including pre-season.

DeSean McCoy likely going to be our next “I said gay ass faggot but didn’t mean it” athlete.

Okay after reading this article what popped into my head is the Panthers are really fucked for this year.

Calling it now, 2012 draft Panthers with the #1 pick.

Plus whole new coaching staff, rookie QB and Sophomore QB.

They are properly fucked for sure.

Edit: Print paging Print. Where you at Dog? This is your que to start yelling at me about Cam.

I actually think SF will be alright. Their D is good, they have a good running game and their conference is generally pretty shitty lol
