Too bad Smith made him look like a child all game.
Neither of those teams acted like professionals that have been there before last night.

I can’t really think of too many players on that field that didn’t look like overpaid children.

I mean, I don’t know if you’re just being a homer or not, which is fine, but my point is, from that perspective it was a horrid display.
To be fair, the panthers have been terrible since forever… They haven’t been there before ;)
To be fair, Carolina has been to the Superbowl as many times as all of California combined in the past decade.
Haha, you got us there.

As far as I saw on the field between Smith and Talib, it started with Talib holding onto his leg after that catch. It looked like he was upset he got burned a few plays before. I don’t care for either player, but I think Smith had a right to be upset.

I am not being a homer. I am not from NC (i just currently live here) and have stated numerous times in this thread that I am Phins fan.

Steve Smith has always acted like a thug so that was no surprise. I meant he made Talib look like a child in that he burned him numerous times and obviously got into his head. The best way to play Smith is too keep your cool or as you said be professional. Smith knew he could mentally and physically manipulate Talib and he did.

I always though of Smith as an asshole who somehow gets a pass from the media as being intense and fiery. The media always has their darlings and in my eyes Smith is one of them.

I agree that Smith won the night. The Pats were dumb to but Talib on him, but really had no other choice to be honest, and Talib not only failed at his job, but lost his cool. The “ice up” comments after the game just add to the shit attitudes on that field Monday night.

Talib is sort of shitty and sort of good in different ways. But I would say the one mark on an otherwise great game (controversial call at the end aside) was the enormous amount of poor sport on that field. That shit annoys me to no end. Much like when a team is down by 24 and gave up 30 points, and a d-lineman dances after a garbage time sack. I want to yell “scoreboard” at my TV every time.

Yeah, I am no fan of either player. But I cant pass up an opportunity to take a stab at the west coast boys when its given to me. The thing I don’t get though is how Smith is still getting in peoples heads. I think his talking is more strategic than anything. Get under peoples skin, get them to overplay you and try to break a big one. You know he is going to try to get you riled up so why do you let it?? Of course, when you get beat like Talib did for a couple of plays it makes Smith’s strategy a little more effective.

Thank you. If you are getting blown out, what are you doing celebrating. Play hard to the horn for the soul purpose of minimizing the embarrassment and try not to look like a self absorbed ass. Then walk off the field and shut your mouth.

That game last night was a hell of a lot closer than I expected.

lol

Is that Pat??

It’s just a bad year to be a Falcons fan. Has a team ever gone from having the best record in a conference to almost the worst the next year?

Also, Roddy White killed my fantasy team this year.

How about them Chargers putting up 41 points against the Chiefs in Kansas City!? I don’t understand this team. They look like shit against the Dolphins, but then play a great offensive game against the Chiefs.

That was a bizarre game, losing Hali and Houston hurt big time. Reid’s timeout before the TD didn’t help things either. Chiefs offense looked good for once though. If Hali and Houston are out next week against the Denver Mannings it could be very very ugly.

Yeah I didn’t see it so I can’t really comment too much on the game. The Chargers secondary is terrible though. I think they are the worst passing defense in the league. Not to take anything away from the Chiefs.

The Broncos are starting to look like they are head and shoulders above everybody in the AFC right now.

Just another game winning drive by Romo. Ok bye

Well this game is a tale of two halfs. I’ll admit I wrote the Pats off after the first half because of the Broncos high powered offense. Should be an interesting fourth quarter.

Tony Carter – what a freaking bonehead. You DON’T need to make that kind of mistake in overtime for crying out loud. I learned not to fuck up like that back in elementary school. Sheesh.
To be fair to Carter, Welker needed to call that WAAAY earlier than that.

…but as a Patriots fan, I’m glad he didn’t.

That punt fiasco was completely Welkers fault. He was standing on his own 10 and didn’t fair catch a punt that landed at the 15 or so? That is a ball that you fair catch 10 times out of 10.

He initially movd forward like he was going to catch it, then changes his mind and backed off late. It’s not his return teams fault that they were trying to block for him and he goofed.

Anyway, the Broncos won’t win the superbowl because as everyone already knows and we saw last night: manning doesn’t play well in the cold. Good thing their home games and potential away games (NE/KC/Super Bowl) are in great warm weather areas lol

What the hell is the deal with the Bronco’s RB’s? Moreno had to go out there on one leg after it was proven once again that he is the only one that can hold on to the damn ball.

To the FUBAR’d punt, Welker has a lot of the blame yes, but when Carter heard him, which you can clearly see by his reaction, he released his block and cleared out to the middle of the field which is the stupidest thing you can do, when you hear someone calling you off you head to the sideline not the middle so Carter is at least partially to blame. What a game for Welker to play his worst of the season. Guy I played against a couple times in high school had a pretty big game, Jamie Collins. He was a QB then if you can wrap your head around that.
