I still say Cower will coach next year somewhere. He’s got warm and cold weather places to choose from most likely with Turner getting the boot out west and Philly on the EC. Wasn’t Cower a Eagle at one time?
NO BJB I do not want to see the Chin in Philly.

They can take a chance with Chip Kelly or somebody else that will make them competitive but not that good.
I’m worried the Browns will make a run at Cower. I forgot he played for them as well. He looks like the perfect fit for both teams.

You know I like the Boy’s DJ and would love to see him coach in Dallas but could he put up with JJ? I bet he would offer him ten dollarinies per year to do it too.
Pipe dream, no way the Chin can live with JJ, but who knows, JJ is a billionaire and knows how to talk people into anything. I mean he did hire Parcells.
True. But now we know(or they) know how Jerry operates. Johnson and Parcell have made that clear. Any headstrong coach(aka a good coach) would hesitate to give the job a whole lot of attention.
I know damnit but a man can dream. Coaches also like a challenge, and bring Dallas back to SB form would be enticing.

To be fair, Brees signed his contract on the heels of a record-setting season and in the context of what other legit, franchise-QBs currently command.

Regardless, between regression-to-the-mean and the effects of Bountygate (which, iirc, weren’t known when he they un-franchised and re-signed him) it’s not like Brees’ current struggles are coming from left field…

(of course, u didn’t claim any of this either)

Yeah, don’t get me wrong, I’m happy he got paid because he deserves it. But it explains him trying to “do too much” last night in part.

Pressure from the contract and the loss of a head coach, added to the chance to stick it to the league and win despite the league sticking them in the anus… Eh I don’t blame the dude.

All I know is it was great fun and the Dome was very loud, which cost them a time out. Which burned them at the end of the 2nd quarter when they ran out of time and could not score. It was dumb to call the run in that situation and keep the clock running. Works for me though, fuck the Saints. I hate 'em.

Shurmur HAS to be fired in Cleveland, dude is clueless and lost. Plus, with the new owner/CEO; even if he had a semi-clue how to coach, he’d still be gone.

They better hire a “big name” guy. No more of the coaching tree random coordinator guy who needs a few years to figure it out, everyone in town is sick of that shit. There is talent in place, a very eager owner, and plenty of $$$ to go after someone like Gruden, Chip kelly, or even Sean Peyton (if he leaves). No interest in the Chin. Remember Gruden grew in Northern Ohio and was a Browns fan, so he may be able to see past how shitty of place Cleveland actually is to live in, and want to be here.

Another thing, WHY THE FUCK IS SUNDAY NIGHT EAGLE vs. COWBOYS??? who gives any fucks about this game

Im not sure if Gruden would take the job. He has made it clear that he wants to return to the NFL but I think it would have to be a real enticing job. ESPN is paying him handsomely right now. Chip Kelly is incredible in developing low cost players. Any GM would want a coach like that but especially Cleveland. Im not sure what will happen there but it will be interesting.

DJ,

You see this article comparing Romo and Aikman stats?

http://www.dallascowboys.com/news/article-NickEatman/Eatman-Record-Romo-Is-About-To-Break-Should-Be-Appreciated-/3fe143cd-1b32-4685-bef5-0e2c5cb9b164

"With 88 starts for Romo, I compared his numbers to Aikman after his first 88 starts. Ironically, there are some big similarities as well as big differences.

Romo has 3,024 passing attempts to just 2,443 for Aikman, who had 17,529 yards. Romo has 23,929 passing yards and nearly double the touchdown passes for Aikman, 162-86.

The similarities are surprising. Despite the more attempts, Romo has 84 interceptions and Aikman had 79. The records after 88 starts: Aikman was 53-35 and Romo is 52-36."

Your typical NFL fan cant hear your logic.

KC Chief Player killed his girlfriend and then killed himself at the KC Chief practice facility. No specifics so far

^Holy Fuck!

More fuel for the concussion debate no doubt.

LB Javon Belcher reportedly

Fuck. I had him on my fantasy team.

Is it wrong for the league to continue with CAR at KC as originally scheduled?

Are any viable alternatives even available?

Dont the owners have a say in whether they continue with the game? I would leave it up to the players if thats so.

I wouldn’t have done it. But that’s the decision they made. I don’t know how anybody could concentrate on the game under these circumstances.

They could have postponed the game to the end of the season. It’s not a game I want to watch. I think nobility should have taken a backseat to reality.

No cause its been said its all about wins for QBs and not about the team.

Anyone else think the Hawks just got f’d out of a touchdown before the half? Damn. Its hard enough for those poor bastards to win on the road, let alone in Chicago.

Nice coverage by the Lions on that last play. Luck is one cool cat.

I changed the channel when they got close thinking it was a done deal, didn’t see what happened. I sure like Wilson.

I turned it to the Chicago game after GB won and almost thought the Seahawks were completing a perfect Sunday for GB fans. Oh well. Seattle is making strides. Once they draft some quality weapons this coming April, they will be looking quite scary.
