What’s so harsh about it? The NFL found out two years ago that Williams and Payton were fostering an environment in which players were paid to injure their opponents and told them, without equivocation, to knock that shit off. The Saints said they’d knock it off and they continued right on doing what they were doing. Not only have these two jerks been suspended for encouraging their players to injure opponents, they’ve been suspended for outright lying to the Commissioner and doing it anyways.
Personally, I don’t think Williams belongs in the NFL at all anymore.
While DBC makes a good case for the severity, let’s not forget how much weaker this makes those Spygate punishments seem in retrospect.
For those who forgot, NE was taping STL practices throughout that whole superbowl week and won a ring because of it (when pressed on this topic, Mike Martz had already joined the DET staff and elected to take the high road) and dang if they didnt get off cheap for all that cheating bullshit.
And much more flagrant cheating, no less (imo, obviously)

Hold on one was about trying to win a game with figuring out how to win the other was legitimately paying players who “Injured” other players so they could win.
Yes there is a difference.

True no doubt.

I have heard of people in their 20’s having issues… But I used to have the best lower back of anyone. Then like 2 years ago things started changing.
It’s genetic, my mother has it, my brother’s getting it.

There isn’t even the semblance of a parallel between being paid to intentionally injure opponents, and by extension trying to severely curtail their income and worsen their quality of life, and simply videotaping a team’s practice. Intent to cheat isn’t even in the same category as intent to injure.
^^ nor in the penalty, clearly

Really,it was a long time coming. What really rustles my jimmies is that Warren Sapp outed Shockey like that,as if he did something wrong. Really bitch?
Furthermore,I think their SB win should be taken away from them. If it hadn’t been for the fucking Bounty then Manning or Favre would have gotten another ring.

You pumped about RG3?
Hell yes I am!! I think we paid a shit ton for him but assuming we can get a better O-line during the draft then I expect this to be a really good season. Not expecting SB but definitely a winning record. And at the very least not be the bottom of NFC East.!!

I disagree with this. I’m of the mindset that this is a common practice in the NFL the only difference being the Saints got caught (or called out). I think the punishment they are receiving is more than enough as it sets the precedence for future teams. Pulling a SB is very NCAA-like ala heisman

I think going after 2 ROOKIE QBs (Newton,Tebow),other elite QBs (Manning,Brady), and ending 2 HOF Contenders careers (Favre,Warner) warrants a consideration of stripping a title away.
Honestly,I dont know what pisses me off more, possibly ending a young bucks career or ending Warners/Favres career. Warner especially. The dude is Kurt “Fucking” Warner. Hes the cinderella man.

BJB you going to be okay?
It means I don’t have to burn his jersey if he went to another AFC North team lol. Like SN and I both said in previous posts, it was painfull to watch last year.
He’ll be a talking head somewhere I’m sure.
Might just squeak into the HOF too, doubt it but you never know.
Now if it was an article mentioning Wallace going somewhere, no I’m not fucking ok.
WTF!, does nobody think Mike Wallace is worth a #1 pick in this years draft?. I doubt he’s asking for a truckload of quid at this point either, the next contract is the big one if he keeps improving.
LOL on one hand you say you’d be inconsolable if Wallace signed elsewhere, and on the other you’re pissed that nobody is after him. I love the dichotomy of emotions.
Yes I am happy to see Hines retire. I wish he would have done it before he was released, but he was never going to go out on his own terms. If he had been retained for one more year, we’d be having the exact same discussion a year from now.
I don’t want to see Hines on TV. He is a likeable guy, but he’s never struck me as being particularly intelligent, well-spoken, or insightful. He was on the local radio here every Wednesday or Tuesday for the last 6 years or so and never impressed me with his analysis of his own team, let alone the other 31.
Smiling a lot doesn’t get you very far in the corporate broadcasting world. Just ask Jerome Bettis.
I had my wife read that first paragraph you wrote, she got quite a laugh out of that one lol, so true. I can get a tad unhinged when it comes to certain players. I couldn’t even watch Rod Woodson on TV in a game for years after he left.

Things are heating up between Sapp and Shockey.
Heres a quoate from Shockey himself:
â??Sapp can say what he wants about me, but if he really says that heâ??ll put his life on the line for his source, weâ??ll see. Iâ??ve never been a guy who failed multiple drug tests. Iâ??ve never been divorced. I donâ??t have four kids by four different women. I donâ??t lie. This attacks my character and itâ??s not fair.â??

Dude, that hit is clean as a whistle. And I like Kurt Warner.
They aren’t going to take away a Super Bowl, don’t be stupid. This is punishment enough.
