NFL 2012 Off season and DRAFT

The punishment was for the fact that they were told in 2010 to clean this shit up, to NOT do this and that they will be watched. Saints kept doing it, covered it up and lied.

Thus the harsher penalty, plus most of the guys around the NFL have come out and said that they never had a coach that was involved with this. Players doing it among themselves is one thing a Coach actually getting involved is totally another thing.

Again Williams comes off as an arrogant prick and Peyton comes off as a aw shucks I didnt know what was going on.

I’m putting my money on Shockey over Sapp

It means I don’t have to burn his jersey if he went to another AFC North team lol. Like SN and I both said in previous posts, it was painfull to watch last year.

He’ll be a talking head somewhere I’m sure.

Might just squeak into the HOF too, doubt it but you never know.

Now if it was an article mentioning Wallace going somewhere, no I’m not fucking ok.

WTF!, does nobody think Mike Wallace is worth a #1 pick in this years draft?. I doubt he’s asking for a truckload of quid at this point either, the next contract is the big one if he keeps improving.
LOL on one hand you say you’d be inconsolable if Wallace signed elsewhere, and on the other you’re pissed that nobody is after him. I love the dichotomy of emotions.

Yes I am happy to see Hines retire. I wish he would have done it before he was released, but he was never going to go out on his own terms. If he had been retained for one more year, we’d be having the exact same discussion a year from now.

I don’t want to see Hines on TV. He is a likeable guy, but he’s never struck me as being particularly intelligent, well-spoken, or insightful. He was on the local radio here every Wednesday or Tuesday for the last 6 years or so and never impressed me with his analysis of his own team, let alone the other 31.

Smiling a lot doesn’t get you very far in the corporate broadcasting world. Just ask Jerome Bettis.
I had my wife read that first paragraph you wrote, she got quite a laugh out of that one lol, so true. I can get a tad unhinged when it comes to certain players. I couldn’t even watch Rod Woodson on TV in a game for years after he left.

BJB, you may be pleased and dismayed at the same time to read this:

Apparently Wallace takes the “Young Money Crew” thing pretty seriously. He’s asking for a bigger deal than Fitzgerald. He’s either out of his fucking mind, or he really wants to stay in Pittsburgh this year.

^I’m fucking stunned is what I am. Wallace is out of his mind, him and his agent. Steelers will not break the bank for him, not in the DNA.

Silver lining is he comes out this year to “prove everybody wrong blah blah blah” and has a monster year for the team and Pittsburgh see’s him go on his merry way, end of story.

I cannot see Willams keeping his job after this, he’s fucked. Fisher looked like he was ready to chew nails and spit rust on the NFL network interview segment.

Payton will survive I suppose, the teams will rally around him and dedicate the seasone to him or some such…yawn.

Tebow a Jet, huh…

If he has an All-Pro year in 2012, I see no reason why the Steelers wouldn’t tag him in 2013. The threat of that might make him amenable to more reasonable contract terms.

Forgot about that tag angle, now I can dichotomize my thoughts again lol. Should make for an interesting duel in the receiving corps this season. Extend Brown and Tag Wallace, is this possible?

Brown will be restricted next year, but I’m sure they’ll try to sign him long-term after this season. I don’t know if it will be possible given the cap and the contracts with the rest of the team.

Well, if he’s still commanding that kind of money he will likely be playing with NO teams in 2013. Fitzerald money… gimme a break.

Keep in mind that with the new CBA and rookie wage sceale, we are going to be seeing some crazy money being thrown at proven veterans. Top tier QBs will be commanding $20 million a year. Just wait and see what Rodgers’ next deal is. He’ll most likely be re-upped next year at the age of 30 and in the prime of his career. It should be the richest deal in NFL history.

Calvin and Mario to name a few.

Yeah, but really I think that is just the beginning. When a receiver (albeit the best in the league) is getting a $18.75 million a year, what is a top 5 QB in his prime worth? $20 million? $25 million?

^ It will cap out, have no choice when you have a salary cap.

That’s been nothing but the story here the last 36 hours. The Jags offered a higher draft pick in the 4th and more cash ($3mil). So the Broncos took it to Tebow and his agent, and now he’s a Jet. He went on the local media saying he didn’t have any input and an hour later Elway spoke and told a totally different story.

JESUS LIED TO US.

WTF

Oh yeah and now Evangelical Preacher Pat Robertson is weighing in saying Peyton deserves to get hurt for running poor Timmy out of town.
