NFL 2011 Season Starts Now

Just bought my tickets for the London game this year. Can’t wait, been twice before always a blast. I think I’ll support the Bucs this year as Freeman is on my fantasy team and Cutler is a dick.
That should be epic. Can you give us live updates leading up to that? I would love to hear 'em. Including some pictures from the actual event would also be sick. It’s nice that you got two decent teams this year as well.

Are the fans for the game pretty out of control? What’s the atmosphere like? Any of the soccer hooligans adopt the NFL for that day? I’d be interested to hear how people interact with the NFL over there.

Week #1

Game with most wow moments: NO @ GB

Game I would most like to watch other than my own team: Lions @ Bucs

Game that will get out of hand fastest: Indy @ Houston

Game on paper is crap but might be enjoyable to watch because of the bloopers committed: Bungles @ Browns

Game that not one fuck will be given: Seahawks @ Niners

Says you BjB!

Niners Hawks is goona be good. Both Coaches faced each other when they had the helm of Stanford and USC respectively. Harbaugh bested Pete Carrol twice in three seasons. You think this game doesn’t matter but lemme tell you sir, it definitely does.

I guess it matters to the fans of those teams!! Really now, I don’t think much people care to watch teams from the NFC west. Well, maybe the Cardinals because Fitz is a stud and fun to watch.
I’m not a super big fan of either of those teams, but I do love me some rivalry. Plus Harbaugh is a Michigan man who likes to stuff the ball up the defenses’ ass and Pete Carrol likes to flash around and get creative. It’s motherfuckin’ high drama, above and beyond the performance of a singular player for sure.

That’s what might be unfortunate about the Fantasy Football era, everyone’s clicking around to see if their players are getting the numbers and not really paying attention to how the game is being played.

Scheme
Strategy
Guts/aggression
Ability to react and adjust

So much more to this game than the ball landing in the hands of a athlete.
Could not have said it better myself Brad, FF is a side note, a dip for my chip, a garnish. To me I am all about the Prime rib itself, I love the small things about the game. I flip around to watch matchups.

Big Ben has looked really sharp this camp and he has some weapons to throw to as well. Offence could really be special this year. I expect him to dismantle the Ratbirds secondary this week. I also expect him to absorb some huge hits to make those throws as per usual.

Any other year I would be all for the new kick-off rules because historically Pittsburgh’s special teams have been horrid but now they have a couple great return guys and it kinda sucks now.

Lee Evans could have a huge day statistically against the Steelers secondary :frowning:

Ya sure, I’ll through up a few pics and let you know whats going on.
The fans tend to be 70% fans and 30% people going along for the novelty. Its all very good natured, friendly atmosphere. People are enthusiastic and eager to learn.
Two years ago for the Patriots game, we were sitting in front of some drunk American Pats fans. One of them was very fat and was regaling us with stories of his time in the “Special Forces”. He told my brother he could eat his lunchbox before my bro knew what was going on. Obv letting anyone into the Seals these days.

Id say the game will end up with 24-17. With Green Bay having the 2nd most interceptions last year and Brees having 22 freaking interceptions, the passing game will amount to quick, short passes. I think the most of the load will be placed on the 3 back running game(which Dom Capers will be ready for).

Oh and Sproles will be the suprise. Very underrated player.

I’ll take Green Bay in this one. Clay’s flowing locs and Aaron’s handle bar, who can beat that?
x2!

fear the stache New Orleans!

daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn… not a good day to be a Colts fan

Manning has another surgery on his neck. Thats not good.

I predict he will be out from 6 weeks to full season.

Pretty damn close first half prediction you got there. =p

Farm much respect now.

When will u die?

Ha well the game is high and too damn close. GB may f*** up in the 4th…I will never die…never…

This has been one of the best season openers that I’ve ever seen!

x2. Although its frustrating as hell to see GB’s defense look like shit, its freakin awesome.

It’s simple: Rogers > Brees; GB DL > NO OL.

Cobb has been electric. Talk about adding a weapon to a team that already has an arsenal.

Absolutely. Driver will be retiring before too long and I think they may have found his replacement.

Wow that was a high scoring game. Definitely a great start for Green Bay. They really need to work on their inside coverage. Weak.

I don’t think anybody could’ve predicted that he’d burst onto the scene in week 1. I was glad to see that he was on your bench.

God I love being right. I got to watch a lot of Cobb as a Florida fan. Was hyping him up to my friends and dad all off-season, got a few texts tonight.

1-0 is a great way for us to start a tough schedule. NFC South is probably the best division in football right now so getting it going in this fashion is a nice way to start.

By the way, the defense will absolutely not be ripped apart like this during the season, for a few reasons.

1.) This is a dynamic offense they faced tonight. Face it. I think Sproles is going to be a much bigger X-factor this season than I (and others) originally though.

2.) Defenses might end up looking a little suspect early this season, especially when facing spread and air-it-out attacks, especially complex systems like Capers’. A one-game look at a team can be very misleading, take it for what it was - a good win on a very big night.

PS - Go Pack Go

PPS - GAWD I’m glad I’m (possibly) right about Cobb. I edited him on Madden 12 and made him mid/low 80s, as he should be ranked. Be ready world.
