Now what will they do if they do not win the SB in the next 2 years?
They are fucking stacked.

However, their success is contingent in large part on Vick having a year like last year. (I’m not really an Eagles fan, but I like watching Vick so I hope he repeats…it’s exciting football). I’m not sure if he will, though.

Also, their failure has always been about Andy seeming not to be the coach that can win the big game. And he’s still there calling plays.

If it’ll be any year, it’s this or next…
Vick is the key, that D will be tough like the old days with J Johnson was coaching it for sure.

The fit, to me, doesn’t make sense for several reasons. Why only sign for 1 year and $3 million when there were other offers far better on the table? Or with an offense you’re more familiar with? We don’t even know what he has in the tanks right now… I don’t see Plax going over 700-800 yards and 6-8 TDs, if I had to take a stab at some numbers.

Okay, first things first, the Jets got him for cheap. Cool, I don’t see how this benefits Plax other than the possibility of a deep playoff run (Patriots/Steelers oops.)

This is Braylon Edwards stats from last year, if Plaxico can have the same production and roll coverage away from Holmes, at a much cheaper price than Edwards. Then I would say this is a smart move on the Jets part.
Not to mention the issue w Braylon was that you’re always hoping he’s going to hold onto the ball. He was better last year (generally), but still dropped some passes that, if he held onto, would have been the difference of the game (example the loss to the Broncos).

Plax never really had drop issues. So if he can show consistency early on, then other teams will have to fear hi a bit to the extent that they’ll have to make a harder choice in how they cover.

Could wind up being a good move - especially for the price.

Now we just have to hope that Wilkerson is a good pick up for pass rush.

I still think this is the weak point for that D, but finding an elite pass rusher is hard. The can still be dominate because of Rex and his scheme, if they can get an elite rusher will really put them over the top.

Did you see Gholston went to the Bears? What do you think his chances are?
I dunno, honestly.

I’d LIKE to say, “hell, if Rex can’t motivate that dude, no one can.” However, I guess it depends on what motivates you. Perhaps with Ulracher behind him he can maybe find his place. I have my doubts, though.

I dont know how strong he is, he does not have any fast twitch and is why he did not pan out as an Elite pass rusher. But if he got really strong then he could play the left side to be that run stopping D end. He always seemed like a stand up guy so I was always kind of pulling for him.

To bad you guys didnt sign T Heap, I know he has had a lot of injuries but I think would have been good compliment to Keller.

My west coast team has signed 51 free agents so far (the Cards) it looks like they will also be signing Braylon Edwards…Kolb Fitz and Braylon could potentially be lethal.

If Plax could be that end zone fade threat and give sanchize that big target I will be very happy. I think hes position (WR) is whats gonna make the layoff not hurt as much.

I dont see him being a big yardage guy but I do see 800 yards and Double Digit TD’s (10-11) coming from Plax.

As a Jet fan however they still havent cured their most glaring need which is a pass rusher, hopefully Mohammed will be a force, but the constant blitzing has to stop, its effectiveness was severely lessened last year.

Losing Brad Smith may hurt us more that we would like to think. I wonder if they will use Cromartie at times to fill his specialist role. Maybe sign Randel El.

^ Matty the only thing I think about is maybe they have had some developmental players that we just do not know about. Maybe they have that pass rusher ready to emerge.

The Cards now this year I believe they have a better shot than last year, who is going to compliment Beanie? Since Hightower was traded.

I wonder, if youll see a ronnie browm in the red and white, I think it would be a good fit.

Could be. Did the giants resign Bradshaw?

@SportsCenterSportsCenter

The #Giants have given Osi Umenyiora’s agent permission to work out a trade for the 2-time Pro Bowl DE, sources told Sal Paolantonio.

I don’t know what effect this will have but, the Eagles still have their former Offensive Line coach as their new defensive coordinator. Obviously Nnamdi was not concerned about this fact, but I am going to keep my fingers crossed that this guy falls flat on his face. (Yes I am bitter. I had my nails painted Jets green and everything on Friday in anticipation of the signing)

Agreed that Vick has to stay healthy, but if Jackson continues to hold out and Maclin doesn’t start to recover more quickly from mono it doesn’t really matter how healthy Vick is.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but the Eagles didn’t add anyone major to their their O line, did they? At least as of this morning they still hadn’t even signed Danny Watkins.

I look forward to a another season of whining Eagles fans bitching about the red zone and time management.

Do you know who the Eagles remind me of? This past years Miami Heat team. They placed three “high caliber” players who were supposed to take it all the way for years to come but them lost to a mediocre team in the finals. Obviously Philly has differences but just dont get caught up in names. Andy Reid is a regular season coach but he has had several yrs of SB attempts. They will be a challenge without a doubt but all Im saying is, they havent clinched anything. What they have accomplished is taking the target on Green Bay’s back and putting it on themselves.

Agree with all.

However, with the new kick return rule I don’t know if Smith will have as much impact as he did with the Jets. In general I think there will be tons more touchbacks.

Lol, no I have not heard anything about any OL signings.

RT @MikeGarafolo: RB Ahmad Bradshaw has agreed to terms with the Giants.

Well all my New York fans can be happy. I can now be sad :frowning:

DJ, perhaps you can answer-- what the hell have the Cowboys been doing in FA? Have they picked ANYONE up? Looks like all they’re doing is cutting people.

No moves but signing their own, they are talking with Elam for safety but it is not moving real fast. I think they are waiting till the 4th, cause nobody picked up in FA can practice till the 4th.

I think maybe, just maybe that Garrett and Ryan have made JJ believe in growing from within and getting it through the draft. Teams like the Pats, Packers and Steelers have done this for years and have established programs. Dont know if this is happening but I can always hope.

So assuming R Moss stays retired, does he go down as the #2 WR of all-time?

Good question. Him or T.O. or could your throw in Irvin? Three really, really mentally fucked up guys. You know Rice just shakes his head in frustration.

For those not hip to the MyFace lingo - google “MyFace and Bill Belichick.” Best quote of training camp so far
