NFL 2011 Part III

I just like to pull for the gingers of the NFL…they never get any love and if the Texans bow out early they have built in excuses.

thanks for not asking about the Jets…I appreciate it.

Not my style Matty.

We can talk draft strategy on G+

Lol

Hey maybe JJ will hire polian

Playoff prediction:

AFC:
Rd 1 - PIT def DEN, CIN def HOU
Rd 2 - PIT def BAL, NE def CIN
Rd 3 - NE def PIT

(I don’t know much about the AFC though)

NFC:
Rd 1 - NO def DET, NYG def ATL
Rd 2 - NO def SF, GB def ATL
Rd 3 - GB def NO

SB - GB def NE

Go Pack Go

I’d like to see SF beat NO…but I’m just not sure. The Pack are too good. If they can keep getting a few turnovers a game, they will keep winning. Watching that game against the lions was nuts. Flynn had himself an amazing game.

Steelers def Broncos
Bengals def Texans
Lions def Saints
Atlanta def Giants

Yep, couple upsets in there. Lots of injuries to go around and we’ll see who can play thorough the pain but to me, the playoffs is where the teams with the greatest mental toughness usually win. It’s only good teams that are left so you’re going to have to absorb some blows and shake them off.

The Bengals @ Texans will probably go down to the wire, interesting game. Foster has to dominate to give his QB a chance. Benson is no slouch either, a black and blue matchup for sure.

Game of the week will be the Lions @ Saints. Late game on a saturday night that dome will be insane along with the over under.

I want Atlanta to win only because I’m sick of Coughlins crybaby fuckin’ face on TV. Sorry Matty but it’s got to be said lol.

I just don’t see the Broncos winning this week but I will reserve the right to be shitting my pants at the 2:00 mark on Sunday. Get ready for an ugly game.

This Redman dude(#33) who is playing for the injured Mendenhall is one tough cat to bring down and should be a treat to watch this week, bit of a butterfingers this past week though.

Hines Ward gets to 1000 receptions this past week as well. Love him or loath him he just might get into the HOF. Not bad for a QB out of Georgia

Ike Taylor being left off the Pro Bowl roster was ridiculous, plain and simple. I blame the players but honestly I don’t think they give a fuck unless it triggers a bonus clause in their contract.

Both Flynn & Nelson catapulted me to a win in the championship game of my fantasy league. That’s a 500.00 buck win rt there.

I can easily see the Giants beating Atl. Don’t think SF stands a chance against N.O. Only because SF’s O can’t keep up W/N.O’s O.

I can’t figure out if Pitt is really that bad w/a hurt Ben, or Cle. def. was that good.

Lions have the experience of playing in New Orleans once already.

We’ll see if it matters.

Seems like they stayed healthy after the GB game, and I bet they’re all chomping for another chance at the Pack. It’s common for a team to be beaten twice in a season, but three times? It’s tough, even with #12 back at the helm.

New Orleans’ offense only averages something like 24 points a game on the road, and that includes a couple of road games on turf. The Niners will definitely keep up with that offense in the swirling winds and possibly sloppy turf at Candlestick Park. Plus, the Niners have consistently forced teams to play the game on THEIR terms, something the Saints haven’t really been forced to cope with all year, and have lost when they have had to. If the game were in NO, I’d like NO by at least 10 points, but it’s in Candlestick, where the Niners play well and they’ll have 69,000 liquored-up fans going fucking ballistic. I go to several games a year there and it isn’t a wine and cheese crowd by any means, and hasn’t been for about 20 years. It’s a Jack Daniels and reds crowd that has been starving to see the Niners back in the playoffs and that place is going to be fucking LOUD on the 14th. Niners will take it 29-21.

It wouldn’t be a shocker if SF won. All I’m saying is if Bree’s stays on this torrid tear he is on, it’ll be hard for SF to manufacture quick points. Who is covering Graham? I can see the wr’s getting taken out but not him. I like Crabtree & Davis (Davis a Md boy as am I) so I would like to see him succeed. I think the most interesting thing will be N.O. run game against that stout ass def. of the niners. Rather incredible what the front 7 has accomplished this yr.

Is the weather supposed to be a factor?

^ Classic High powered O against high powered D

That normally means it boils down to home field, special teams and # of turnovers.

Two fumbles in the second half by Redman. Turnovers have been killing the Steelers all year.

I liked Hines Ward a lot more before this season. It was pathetic watching him get his 1000th catch on a fucking shovel pass that went for -3. Chasing arbitrary statistical “achievements” to the detriment of the team goes against everything I thought he stood for.

Agreed.

Here is the caveat. How much will ‘experience’ in this kinda game play. Do the Niners have anyone on that team that has played in the playoffs? You know their has to be some jitters & apprehension when you don’t know what to expect. That also includes the heavy handshake dude.

What’s the story w/Ben? & WTF is happened to throwing the ball to Wallace? It’s all bout Brown now. I would be looking for ways to get the ball in Wallace’s hands!

I think when you start to see the true end of your career things can turn selfish.

son of a bitch Chargers… those dumb asses kept AJ Smith and Norv around for another year. What the hell is wrong with this organization?

They aren’t bad enough to move them to LA. Yet.

I don’t get it either Greg.

I’ve noticed Wallace showing a lack of effort at times the last several weeks. There was a play Sunday where the ball was thrown slightly behind him, and he basically gave up on it, causing a near-interception. It would have been a pick-6 if the Browns didn’t suck.

The story with Ben is that he’s injured and not playing very well. He was playing much better before he nearly had his foot torn off in the first Browns game.

The Steelers aren’t going anywhere this year unless something changes dramatically for the better. Either Ben needs to start racking up TDs like crazy, or the D needs to start shutting people the fuck down like it’s 2008 all over again.
