Common misconception. The Steelers were a great team during the same time period when a lot of people were leaving the area. As a result, the (large and faithfully rabid) fan base is basically spread out over the entire US.

Eli vs Stafford is a fairly intriguing debate, admittedly. I’m not a big fan of Eli myself, but he did have a good season which helped to contribute to his teams’ chance at a division win.

The main thing I bring up is this; where I believe Calvin Johnson and Matt Stafford elevate each other equally, through a mutual symbiosis, I feel as though this year Eli Manning has made his receivers who they are now. Nicks was always good, but Cruz and the other two look good as well.

Did Eli have a better year than Stafford, top to bottom? I’m not sure. Having watched many Detroit games, I suspect Eli may have been more consistent overall. It’s a tough call, and I do feel that Eli, Stafford and Newton all deserved Pro Bowl bids. Unfortunately, the NFC has some very talented quarterbacks and all three weren’t going to make the cut.

I knew Matt Flynn was talented but wasn’t expecting a performance like this. At the end of the 3rd he was 24-33 391yrds and 4tds. He has earned a starting spot

Farrior is always going to liability when you ask him to cover an athlete like Davis. Timmons was also beat by Davis on a long pass early in the second half, but Ryan Clark made a great play and broke it up. There aren’t many LBs in the world that can cover that guy.

Andy Lee always plays out of his mind. Lechler gets all the attention, but he isn’t kicking into shitstorm wind like Lee does every home game. He’s largely why the Niners’ opponents average the worst starting position in the NFL. Well, him and their defense.

I was at the game. It was intense, to say the least. Playoff atmosphere in the parking lot and the stadium. There were a lot of Steelers fans there, which was a bit disappointing. Dude, I’ve been to Green Bay. I don’t know why you’re flying off the handle about it. In the middle of the winter it’s one of the most miserable places I could think of being in when the Packers are on the road. There’s absolutely nothing to do there in the middle of the winter except get shitfaced and watch the Packers. So if you live there and you want to travel somewhere to watch your team play on the road, what better place to get shitfaced in the middle of December than SF?

Your description of SF sounds like you’ve been around that block a few times.

There is plenty to do in GB in the middle of December (or any time of the year). Although, I’ll admit, Wisconsinites do seem to have drinking and functional alcoholism down to a near science.

Damnnnnnn Give it to Matt Flynn, what one hell of a game.

Something interesting to think about. If GreenBay played Rogers and he had a game like Flynn’s, then Rogers would have the 3rd highest passing yards for a single season stat, as well as breaking Brady’s record for most td’s in a single season.
Which if Flynn can do it than there’s no reason to think Rogers wouldn’t.
Brady played, plus GB does have a buy next week, IMO Rogers should have played.
