ugh yeah it was ugly. if you really dissect the tape all the hits were not due to shitty blocking. I like to stay positive on him but his decision making really sucks at times. he hones in on his primary and then doesnt ever check down, causing him to hold the ball for a significantly long time and if anyone expects an oline to hold their block for 8+ seconds theyre crazy. Sure the protection broke down some but im really losing faith in cutler, just cant seem to cut it.

AAAANNNDDDDD martz thinks running is against the rules. When you run the ball 11 times, yes mike the defensive coordinator for an NFL team will realize this and put a helluva pass rush on you every damn play, a bunch of idiots everyone in the damn organization. Im surprised theyre not ordering fake injuries every other play!!!
FF its Mike Martz system not Cutler’s fault 100% ALL the X players and experts predicted this before Martz took over. He does to many 7 step drops, he had lightning in a bottle with the greatest show on turf and he keeps trying to recreate it.

I’m just expressing my opinions as a football fan. Isn’t this a football thread?

I’ve been with Vick since Atlanta and through the whole dog thing - he was and still is one of my favourite players.

Regarding Newton, I was saying he was going to be big in the NFL BEFORE people even had him Top 10 in their mock drafts.

And I’ve been a Pats fan since the beginning when I got introduced to football in '05.

Me bandwagoning would mean supporting the Packers. And I hate those cheeseheads.
A Pats fan “since the beginning”? 2005?

Maybe you don’t quite understand what “bandwagon” means.

And you were with Vick “through the whole dog thing.” I can understand appreciating the guy’s talent and even his ongoing attempt at redemption, but how the fuck could you maintain your fandom during that mess?
Look where his country of origin is Ulty.

truth, thats kinda what i was saying, i think. martz is a pansy, not all cutlers fault, but sometimes his decisions do suck and when added with sucky play calling its all downhill.

Very bloody depressed, everything that could go wrong has gone wrong. Only other thing that could happen will be if Hali gets injured. I think we now lead the Andrew Luck sweepsteaks. 0-16?
I don’t think it about leading the sweepstakes, I think Cassel is a fine QB. How’s the lines though? If your lines suck so does your back field. No QB is good it they have to run for their lives every snap.
Our line is a bit suspect. Outside of Lilja its quite underwhelming. Albert is average, Barry Richardson is crap, Wiegmann is prehistoric and Jon Asamoah is very green. While their play undoubtedly is hampering Cassel he is also playing crap. He doesn’t have a commanding presence and everytime he drops back I can barely watch for fear of an INT. That said I’m not ready to give up on him yet.
So what happened between this year and last? What I saw of KC, they looked pretty strong. But even the highlights this year are cringe worthy.
I think we had an extremely easy schedule last year and I’m pretty certain the Chargers where the only “good” team we beat. I think we snuck up on teams to a degree, a little momentum goes a long way too. This year obviously injuries are playing a huge role and teams are expecting a hard fight. I think Haley handled the lockout poorly. Apparently there is tension between him and Pioli too. The loss of Weis cannot be understated either.
Yeah, but there is such thing as dignity. I do like Cassel and I having seen him with a decent team around him I have confidence in him as a QB. It really pretty much boils down to the same thing every pro-sport league. The front office. The trickle down effect is undeniable. Just like the Royals, KC’s front office is fucked up. The president is boning half the teams and couches wives, golf scores are posted and money is being made. Problem is, nobody gives a fuck about the team, same thing with the Bengals, same thing with the Royals, same thing with the Browns, samething with the Cavaliers, etc. Bottomline, if your ownership sucks or is uninterested, and the front office is fucked up, the team below is going to suck ass and it won’t matter much who is on the team. Hell, look at the Raiders. Ever since Al took a left turn down ‘coo coo’ street, they have sucked balls. It’s not the teams fault, it’s Al’s, but he’s to loony and arrogant ( a bad combo) to admit it and step aside. He may shit and piss in a diaper, but he is running the Raider’s till he dies. Badly, but he’s running it.

I’m so mad Maclin dropped that pass, I really think we could of won, smh.
& who agrees that McCoy is really interesting to watch? He will finish as a top 5 back in yards for sure this year. Maybe even top 3 who knows
I agree but Vick has never and will never play 16 games in a season. What makes him great is also what puts him on the DL. That’s why they got Young. They did not count on him going out this early. Who ever has Vick will always need a really good #2.

But I am a Falcons fan and I was there. It was a great game, the crowd was intense and we had a ball. I think the Falcons could have won if Vick stayed in. It was typical Falcons defense, loose between the 20’s but in the red zone we tightened up.

Look the Falcon’s were still sloppy, even in that game. Our outside lane defense was out done, we were getting killed on the screen. Truly, if ‘what’s his name’ 3rd string QB kept the pressure on the outside, I think it would have been closer. BUT and it’s a big BUT, Vick went out and the Eagle’s flat stopped making plays. The Falcon’s D, wasn’t that tired, there was a lot of hype and Vick pointing to the score board did not help his cause.

I think the Falcon’s are only going to get better from here, but our schedule is tough. Tampa is no slouch, Seattle kinda sucks but we cannot look at it that way and then…Green Bay. If I was scared of the Eagle’s I am terrified of Green Bay. However, I think we have the talent and determination to beat them, but it will not be easy, but it will be a great game!

Being an Atlanta fan and a Vick fan I can tell you this, I don’t be grudge him on a personal level. But you cannot ignore the facts, I don’t really care your opinion on his crime, or any of that, but there are 2 facts that stand out: 1) He screwed up the team, the players and all the fans by being selfish and thinking he is untouchable. 2) He is not a Falcon anymore, he is an opposing team QB. And while I wish him well and forgive him as a man, he is an enemy player with a history when he comes in to MY HOUSE. I want to destroy him on the football field.

That means I want to win decisively, not that I want him to suffer physical harm.

yeah rereading my post with the way it was broke up made it sound like i was siding with the giants, not at all, its pretty lame or gay whatever you want to call it. if a team is getting gassed or that unprepaired for the hurry up then they should have to burn a time out to regroup not have their players flop around the field faking injuries. i really dont see how the nfl can enforce it though cause without the blatant flopping like the giants did, which no player after seeing that get made example of with re-inact it in that way. how can they really tell if a player is faking.

what they can enforce though is how long a player stays out after getting injured to stop fakes, say at least the rest of that series, no more 1 play and then back in. even then though certain situations it wouldnt really matter like after a 2nd down before a crucial 3rd, or if a team is in the red zone and about to score and the d needs different personell all someone has to do is take a dive so they get the right people in.

hopefully teams get the message and it gets squashed before this great sport turns into soccer flops

LOL! Sorry dude you lost, that’s the plain fact. It doesn’t matter much who was in. Vick hit his own player that’s the best part. And the fact that he was holding the ball down (again like he used to in Atlanta) left open the possibility for yet another turn over. He did turn the ball over 3 times. The fact that he was out is part of his game. He style of play is not conducive to playing 16 games. That’s what you guys signed up for. You better hope like hell Young gets healthy soon.
Second, with the players you got, you should have won despite Vick being out, but you didn’t and now you have NY who’s got a pretty stout defense. You better hope Vick plays, but with the NFL concussion policy, he may not. They (rightly) take no chances.

Martz is one of the the biggest scam artists in the entire NFL. He got lucky to have Faulk, Holt, Bruce, and Warner play in his system and make it look good. Truth is, those player were good, the system was horrific, and it will continue to be so for every other team that tries to use it.

Mike Martz has no business being a coach at any level of the game.

Lol! This is great.

And by great, I mean atrocious. But I am glad that the NFL did send out a memo about this. Not that it’s a frequent issue right now, but as a league that’s become more akin to no-huddle offenses, conventional wisdom says that this issue will have gotten out of hand before it got addressed. Good for Gooddell (for once.)
