By the way, I was watching First Take this morning and they reminded me of something I saw last night.
That insane bullshit where two Giants defenders just magically collapsed with “injuries” during the Rams’ efficient no-huddle drive. I find it offensive that professionals acted in such a manner, and I sincerely hope that the Giants receive a hefty fine for pulling that kind of shit.
Anyone else agree?
Their acting was obvious but can’t be proven so the NFL can’t fine them for something that’s part of the game (at least that’s what I think will happen). Heard some stuff this morning where Steve Young was saying they should make the players sit out multiple plays once they claim an injury. I think it has to be addressed somehow so it doesn’t happen unless they are truly hurt, like in the last 2 minutes when a team gets charged a time out.

Wow - I didn’t see the game but just found a video of those flops. That’s some serious bush league bullshit. Embarrassing.

yeah its BS. maybe make then sit out a whole series, maybe 2? something to stop it. its been a “new” thing i feel, that the past couple years youve been seeing it more and more. The question comes, do they do it themselves, or is it brought down from the coach? if its brought from the coach, sub someone in, they get hurt, who cares if they miss a series. Theres too many ways around it. If noon wants to have any god damn respect any more i think well have to learn to live with it.
Haloti Ngata will be a thorn in the Steelers side for many years to come it seems which sucks.
This guy is an amazing player, he could play RB on short yardage if they let him, he trys to talk the coaches into it every year, to risky I know but can you imagine Leach as a lead blocker followed by this guy through the hole?

Very bloody depressed, everything that could go wrong has gone wrong. Only other thing that could happen will be if Hali gets injured. I think we now lead the Andrew Luck sweepsteaks. 0-16?
I don’t think it about leading the sweepstakes, I think Cassel is a fine QB. How’s the lines though? If your lines suck so does your back field. No QB is good it they have to run for their lives every snap.
Our line is a bit suspect. Outside of Lilja its quite underwhelming. Albert is average, Barry Richardson is crap, Wiegmann is prehistoric and Jon Asamoah is very green. While their play undoubtedly is hampering Cassel he is also playing crap. He doesn’t have a commanding presence and everytime he drops back I can barely watch for fear of an INT. That said I’m not ready to give up on him yet.
So what happened between this year and last? What I saw of KC, they looked pretty strong. But even the highlights this year are cringe worthy.
I think we had an extremely easy schedule last year and I’m pretty certain the Chargers where the only “good” team we beat. I think we snuck up on teams to a degree, a little momentum goes a long way too. This year obviously injuries are playing a huge role and teams are expecting a hard fight. I think Haley handled the lockout poorly. Apparently there is tension between him and Pioli too. The loss of Weis cannot be understated either.

fighting_fires - Sorry for the beating Cutler got at the hands of my Saints. Protection was non-existent.
ugh yeah it was ugly. if you really dissect the tape all the hits were not due to shitty blocking. I like to stay positive on him but his decision making really sucks at times. he hones in on his primary and then doesnt ever check down, causing him to hold the ball for a significantly long time and if anyone expects an oline to hold their block for 8+ seconds theyre crazy. Sure the protection broke down some but im really losing faith in cutler, just cant seem to cut it.
AAAANNNDDDDD martz thinks running is against the rules. When you run the ball 11 times, yes mike the defensive coordinator for an NFL team will realize this and put a helluva pass rush on you every damn play, a bunch of idiots everyone in the damn organization. Im surprised theyre not ordering fake injuries every other play!!!

True, I think Forte is the best offensive player on the team.

I would call it a vet savy move

Vick gets injured at the end of the 3rd with a reasonable lead and the Eagles go on to lose. I don’t give a shit about how good the other QB played, Vick going out was the reason the Falcons won. Vick is the leader of the Eagles, when he went down I’d wager a lot of the dudes on the team lost something mentally, hence the loss.
Who gives a fuck?
You are a bandwagon fan that pokes his head in these threads every year riding the nuts of the “hot” team.
No one cares about Vick, outside of Steely and he doesn’t post in here because he is too busy throwing metal objects at Santa Claus.
I give a fuck. Vick is the leader of my Eagles!!
I’m so mad Maclin dropped that pass, I really think we could of won, smh.
& who agrees that McCoy is really interesting to watch? He will finish as a top 5 back in yards for sure this year. Maybe even top 3 who knows

True, you have been a Philly fan for like 6 threads now, true.
Maclin, I just don’t get it. Dude makes 300 plays, and then drops the “game winner” when it hits him in the fucking hands. Don’t get it.

I’ll just chalk it up being young and the pressure got to him. He’ll be alright, this loss if anything was a wake up call to us, and it will make us that much better.

I actually just started paying attention to McCoy this year because I own him in a couple fantasy leagues, and he’s awesome. Always just thought of him as a top 15 back and never really respected him, but after watching him for a couple games this year, he’s legit and is top 7 material in my book.
I’m just expressing my opinions as a football fan. Isn’t this a football thread?
I’ve been with Vick since Atlanta and through the whole dog thing - he was and still is one of my favourite players.
Regarding Newton, I was saying he was going to be big in the NFL BEFORE people even had him Top 10 in their mock drafts.
And I’ve been a Pats fan since the beginning when I got introduced to football in '05.
Me bandwagoning would mean supporting the Packers. And I hate those cheeseheads.
A Pats fan “since the beginning”? 2005?
Maybe you don’t quite understand what “bandwagon” means.
And you were with Vick “through the whole dog thing.” I can understand appreciating the guy’s talent and even his ongoing attempt at redemption, but how the fuck could you maintain your fandom during that mess?
