Dj, just fyi, but I think tomorrow they are showing Prince Amukamara’s workouts on sportcenter. If I can find a link after they show it I’ll post it up on here. Also, who would have thought Patrick Peterson would have fallen out of the top 3 projected?
No worries I DVR the combine, I also try to catch it online as much as possible also. I watched Prince play a few games this year and the kid is impressive for sure.

Still waiting to see if anybody knows who I am quoting?
What did I win?

I have not been reading all of this thread, any bears fans running rampant in here?

Whats everyones thoughts on people saying WR is a must for DA bears? I do not think that should be our top priority. Knox is still young, bennett can be a real good possession receiver and we can then diminish hester down to just some slot snaps and let him return. We really need to help the oline. Now if baldwin were available in the second round for us, snatch him up but i want pouncey in rd 1, he can play guard and then replace my guy kreutz.

Watt is gonna be real hit or miss i think. Hes a physical specimen thats for sure, and his motor is always running at 1342124324%. I hope he succeeds and he will definitely be a work out warrior if nothing else.

Yes ingram is in the draft, he should be the first RB off the board, unless someone falls in love with leshoure out of illinois, which i dont see happening. or the kid from OU.
What # does the bears have in the first round? Or Do they have a 1st round pick this year? I still think you need a power back also.
Were at #29. I agree on a possible power back but not until mid-late rounds. We spent our 7th round pick in the supplemental draft on a kid named harvey unga i believe, out of BYU hes a big power back then he got put on IR so might as well see what he can do.

As far as cam newton, a lot of people are projecting him #3 to the bills, which is for sure a reach, but the bills are desperate so i wouldnt be too surprised.

I rememeber seeing Unga play, how about you trade with Dallas for Barber? You want a 1st or 2nd round pick for him?

the bills didn’t do anything with spiller… but it seems like they might have their qb situation under control … i mean at least they can put the pts up… if they were smart they would trade down and invest in defense

How do I redeem this prize?

Has anyone been paying enough attention to the CBA talks to know if they’re discussing a rookie wage scale? If that happens it will level that playing field a lot more than it is already.

I would like to see this:

First pick gets an automatic 3.5% of salary cap contract per year for 3 years guaranteed. After 3 years the player becomes an UFA. Every pick below that drops by .05% of cap per year down to rookie minimum.

So the cap last year would have been around $130 million, so the first pick would get $4.55 million per year. Every pick after that would get $65,000 less until the rookie minimum (around $325,000), which would be the 66th pick in the draft, the beginning of the 3rd round.

If nothing else, this would make the draft more interesting, since teams would no longer be afraid to trade up to the top 5, since the difference in salary between the 20th pick and the 1st pick would now be roughly $1.2-1.3 million per year instead of $10+ million as in years past.

It also allows proven players to become unrestricted free agents sooner, and there will be a larger pool of money available to them and other established veterans.

Just throwing it out there to see what people think. Obviously you can argue about the percentages but I think the idea is sound. I don’t know if this is anything like what the NBA does or not.

Combine today. Good times.

This framework sounds logical and will probably be something that is being discussed as we speak. I agree that will make things a lot more interesting. Getting the #1 pick was supposed to be an incentive to make you better with the best talent. Now its a burden to have to spend that much money and it has narrowed the field of possiblities on who you draft. Nobody is drafting a safety #1 and paying them 50 million.

This should level the playing field which is what the NFL is all about. Lets pray they get there shit together soon.

Because it is logical they’ll never go for it lol. It HAS to be complicated to work.

Seriously though the rookie cap has to happen. I’m in conflict because I am a union member, and let’s face it these atlete’s consider(most) it a job to play football. Wage freezing is tricky business.

Have you watched Joe DeFranco’s Stonger DVD?

Cool spot in it where he explains how in practising for the cone drill they discovered that if the person started with their left foot in front they could reduce a step which would lower your time significantly, good stuff.

The NFL should have a fan draw to be able to attend the combine all access, that would be awesome, one fan from each team or something.

Ravens fullback Le’Ron Mcclain is apparently going to be free to look at offers from other teams. He’s interested in being more of a powerback than a fullback. I really hope the Ravens get him back, the man is a monster and a very important part of their offense.

Go here they have live video feeds of the workout and of course NFL network on Directv will show it. I dont know if you get that in the great white north.

Lulz to Rex ‘white noise’ Ryan. WTF is he doing? I have a lot of respect for him as a coach, but damn he runs his mouth like a newborn filling a diaper.
