Word is Larry Fitzgerald wants him in Arizona.

I don’t see how the Eagles can justify holding on to both Vick and Kolb, but their decision making as of late has been suspect at best.

I am more entertained by the fact that there is zero interest in Donovan. Philly fans were harangued for years about not “appreciating” him and now look. Bite me Cowherd. I want my apology fruit basket god damn it!!
Due to the fact of no CBA there will be no movement in FA market. Period. We will have a draft and maybe some trades during the draft, but other wise nope.

I am sure Cowherd would bite you where ever you wanted and he says the basket is in the mail.
I am probably getting in way over my head here, but didn’t Kolb sign a one year extension so he wouldn’t be a free agent until 2012? Or am I misunderstanding your point?

He is under contract technically, but he is requesting a trade and its to late to do it now. If a CBA gets done in time then a trade could be worked out, if not then maybe during the draft he can get traded for picks etc.

Starting March 1 there is no collective bargaining agreement. So there cannot be any FA movement because the owners are “locking out” the players. So rights cannot be traded or nobody can be signed. The draft had already been agreed upon to happen. But that is it until they get the deal done.

So until they get it done, there is also no OTA’s, coaches cant meet with players. So kids will be drafted and may not go to the team that drafted them until it gets done. So the #1 pick may be sitting at home until August or September.

Anytime you want to get way over my head Smiley, just say the word.

I’m guessing my response should have been like yours to WC when he brought up the same point, but I got confused by the “trades during the draft”. I got it now, draft picks not players (I think?)

This is what happens when I forget to wear my What Would Print Do bracelet.

Thanks for taking the time to clarify DJHT. I’m still working on the nuances of the NFL.

^With those legs, love of sports, & that personality you are damn near the perfect woman.

No problem, I love this game and if I could do things over in life this is what I would have done for a living. I can talk football all day long and the older I get the more I actually get into the business side of it also.

Edgy you lost? U just being nice or do u have a team?

Reading rotoworld today and Carson Palmer has allegedly put his house up for sale in cincy and threatening to retire if Mike Brown doesent meet his demands of getting him out of cincy. If he is let go and doesent retire I wonder where he would go…Niners, Minnesota, Cards, Redskins,Carolina maybe the Fish?

Since the draft looks like in won’t be affected by the CBA, I hope my team the 49ers select Robert Quinn or Von Miller. We’ve needed a dominant pass rusher since Charles Haley left to Dallas.
Von Miller will already be off the board when we pick. I’d prefer Price or Patrick anyways, CB is far and away our biggest need (besides QB ha).
I have to disagree WC, CB can only cover for so long if you have no passrush. Go for Acho he is a beast and will be a better end than Von Miller.
We already have Smith at DE who went to the Pro Bowl this year. Franklin is a beast in the middle, and Lawson/Brooks/Haralson can compete to hold down the other side.

Prince or Patrick in the draft please. I won’t be disappointed as long as they use their first pick on defense because this class is so stacked up front. I just want to get Nate Clements out of my head.

Also, Harbaugh worked out with Alex Smith today. If we keep him around for another year, I’m going to legitimetly start crying.

We play a 3-4 defense and an OLB that can rush the passer is the most important piece. Franklin was terrible this year, Lawson can’t consistently rush the passer but would be great as an OLB in a 4-3 D with his ability to cover and stack the run, and Haralson is slow and just sucks. Brooks is the only one with the potential to rush the passer but hasn’t reached it yet. I’ve seen too many games where the QB had too much time to survey the field.
We need best available player, whether it’s a pass rusher or CB.

I have to agree whole heartedly, going to the Pro-Bowl doesnt mean shit any more WC. The only person on your Defense that OC scheme around is Willis. You want to be in the playoffs and be a contender, look at who makes the playoffs. GB has Mathews and Steelers have Harrison, it makes their corners look like superstars. They get blocked and the CB look shaky. Take my word for it, go after a rusher and your D will be elevated.

I’m well aware of how a good DE can boost your secondary, I also said I would be fine as long as we went with defense in the first round. If VM fell to us at seven we would be pretty lucky. I would just prefer to take a top rated CB in round one, and then find an explosive/athletic DE in rounds 2-3.

^Would you have any interest in one Mr. Vernon Gholston? He will do wonders for your def. & all we ask for in return is a 2nd rd pick over the next 5yrs.

Thank you for your consideration & anticipate a quick reply.

Not at all, I think he should leave the NFL and enter the world of competitive bodybuilding.

If we do go DE, I’d love to see Robert Quinn or Cameron Jordan in the red and gold. Personally, I just think it’s easier to find a gem DE in the later rounds, that’s why I’d prefer to take a top tier CB early on.

Yea, a lot of DE/OLB hybrids have been found it the later rounds or on the practice squad, such as Woodley, Harrison, Haley. I prefer CB Peterson, Quinn, Von Miller, over Amukamura.
If we draft a DE to play on the left side, Dareus would be the pick, even over Amukamura.
But we would still need an OLB.

I can see the logic but finding the diamond in the rough pass rusher is harder to find than a CB diamond in the rough.

Do you think Harbough will elevate Smith’s play? At 9 maybe a Gabbert out of Mizzu will be there?

edit: saw anthor post after answering your WC. I just always see successful teams building the front 7 before the back 4. Either way you have two needs for sure, hope you get both.

After Cam Newton’s highly praised display today, maybe Harbaugh will pick him as his next project. It could be interesting, although I’m not sold on the kid just yet.

^The kid is a stud. Rumor on this coast is that Shanny has a hard on for him & is going to do whatever it takes to get him in D.C. It also will for the most part fill Fed-Ex every Sun. Danny of course likes that.

Fuck that I dont want him in NFC east.

I listend to Trent Dilfer last night on serius and he is very, very impressed with his abilities. Basically saying physcially he is the most gifted QB he has ever seen. He is holding off on what he thinks about the kid between the ears.
