NFL 2010 X 4

Okay BJB you could have at least given me a play by play. Man I thought we were tight.

2’nd and ten on the forty with forty seconds to go in the game. The line of scrimmage looked like they were ready to shake hands, not tackle. Lateral…lateral…hug, ass slap, lateral to a scrub Browns LB’r and tada!..TD to tell the grand kids about, comical. I liked it better when it was after the SB.

As much as I love NFL films I think it would be a shame for a non-player to go in over a player like Willie Roaf. I was pretty young for all these guys careers but I remember willie roaf even as a casual fan.

Do only 7 go in?

Wasnt shannon sharpe the best TE ever (statistically) before Gonzalez?
I need to look up some stats and some names I don’t even know.

BJB Okay thanks brother. That is the reason I stopped watching it a few years ago. Just boring to me. Which brings to the argument of the league decreasing pre-season games due to the quality of the game. But they put that shit laced cake of a game called the pro-bowl. Which is bullshit cause have the leagues best players dont go anyway.

Now bring on the mother fucking super bowl, I want to see some high quality football.

All correct except it was Browns center Alex Mack not a LB’er

Can’t believe you guys get all worked up over a showboat game. It’s strictly for entertainment & fan fun. So what if they put up 90some pts. & so what if Mack is a O’lineman. These guys are there to have a good time show support to one another & chill.

Sean Taylor knew how to play in the pro-bowl.

Troy Polamalu Defensive Player of the Year? What happened to Clay Matthews?

Polamalu even missed two games. I would have voted for Matthews myself.

I think Clay deserved it

Damn that sucks about Matthews. I think he deserved it.

Looking at stats alone from nfl.com

Clay had 60 tackles, 13.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and 1 INT

Polamalu had 63 tackles, 1 sack, 1 force dfumble, and 7 INT.

It’s not about stats with these two players, and you can’t compare a DE and a DB. It’s about their total impact on the defense, and in turn the game.

Polomalu allows a defensive coordinator do draft up pretty much any scheme possible, as he can throw Troy in any position on the field and know that he’s going to get the job done. Clay is an insane talent and a beast at the DE position, but he’s simply a great pass rusher, whereas Polomalu can line up at every spot on the defensive side of the ball.

ā€œLeBeau’s claim that Polamalu is the most versatile defensive back he’s ever worked with. And LeBeau has been involved with the NFL for about a half-century and is in the Hall of Fame.ā€

-ESPN

I’m by no means a bigger fan of either player’s team, and both have amazing hair, but Polomalu is by far the better defensive player and has the bigger impact on his side of the ball.

I didn’t see Troy do anything thus far in the playoffs. He was non-existent in the Jets game. I think 1 possibly 2 tackles. Same against Balt. I think w/the rt offensive scheme you can take him out of the game.

Matthews does nothing but wreak havoc for 4qtrs. He’s constantly on the move & always putting pressure on the QB. & isn’t that the name of the game? Look at what Matthews did to the fastest QB in the league (Vick). He’s a one man wrecking ball.

I’m w/WC on comparing two completely different positions. But when it comes to who has the bigger impact, I say Matthews.

stats aside i also think of polamalu as a game changer… he creates turnovers and changes the course of the game… take for example the cincy game… the int that he had pretty changed the course of the whole game after cincy was putting up some decent drives…

clay matthews is an insane talent but he doesn’t change games. he gets a ton of sacks, but that doesn’t mean that on the next play the other team doesn’t have the possibility of throwing a 20 yd pass to get the first and make up for the loss of yards… polamalu on the other hand doesn’t give the opposing team that option…

also i think its a little bias since polamalu is quietly becoming a poster boy for the steelers and in turn the NFL… guy is a veteran and has kept his nose clean and all around he’s a great guy…

^I’m gonna kick your ass!

Hahahahahahaha AFC rivalry is still hot in the offseason I guess Print?

Honestly they both deserve it I could see both arguments. Been sitting here trying to think of anybody else that really deserves it and cant think of nobody but these two.

^You got that rt brotha!

How is Matthews not a game changer? Do you not think the offense couldn’t pick up a 20yd first down Troy in there? C’mon Vinnie, didn’t you see what the Jets take it to him the 2nd half?I think he is a great athlete, but he was non-existent last week.

I look at Matthews like a LT type player. We all know the key is pressure on the QB. He’s constantly doing that. I think he can change a game just as easily as Troy can.

& if I was voting for a def. MVP, I’d certainly vote for Revis. Just wait until Asomugha gets on the other side…

^ Damn print you on a roll today. You really think the Jets will go after Asomugha? Are they dumping Cromartie?

Getting that time almost for some predictions.

BJB sorry brother still going with the Packers.

I think BJ is going to dominate this game, Lekursky is going to get his ass handed to him. Ben will be running for his life, but he is used to pressure from just the outside. He traditionally doesnt do well with pressure up the middle.

^I think since Asomugha is free now, that they’ll make a play for him. It’s a matter of whether they can get him into the fold w/all the other signings they need to take care of. Tannenbaum has a knack of working numbers. That’s why Parcells loves him like his own son. Imagine having 2 legitimate shut down corners…

I’m going w/the Packers too. Only because they’re playing indoors & I think as it always doesā€¦ā€˜Speed Kills.’

^ I think the Steelers have only had two decent halfs offensively this post season. Second half of Balt game and first half of Jets game. The defense of course has always been strong but I just think the passing game of the Packers will win the game in the end. Steelers just dont have enough offensive power to match the speed. Plus I have sacrificed a goat and prayed to all Gods that the Steelers dont win another SB.
