NFL 2010 X 4

Whew! I’m all caught up.

My predictions:
Packers
Pats
Hawks
Ravens

I like the “Cinderella story” aspect of the Hawks

Clay Matthews and the Packers D will crush Matt Ryans and theres nothing the Falcons can do about it.[/quote]

The Falcons are playing at home my man, you might want to rethink that statement.

DA JETS

suck

Found this funny. Watch the vid. Unreadable transcript below.

Cant beleive I’m considering rooting for the patriots.

Maybe this is nothing, but we would prefer to think itâ??s something.
When Patriots WR Wes Welker stepped to the podium on Thursday, he worked in a reference to feet on his first answer. And then he didnâ??t stop. When we got the transcript in-house, it didnâ??t take long to deduce that Welker is pretty damn clever.
Donâ??t think the Patriots donâ??t engage in trash-talking. Theyâ??re just more subtle about it. Welker dead-pans the entire 8-minute presser, and has taken what has been a ridiculous amount of meaningless banter this week to a whole new level with this.
Here are excerpts of the Welker transcript for your reading pleasure:
Q: How valuable is it to have a guy like Tom Brady standing in the huddle, especially in the intense situations of the playoff atmosphere?
WW: Having Tom in there â?? it goes without saying, the guy is who he is and he does a great job of making sure everyone is on the same page and putting their best foot forward going out there and playing well and doing what they can out there.
Q: How do you approach the young guys about what to expect in the postseason?
WW: You just talk to them. Itâ??s a playoff atmosphere and you canâ??t just stick your toe in the water, youâ??ve got to jump right in and make sure youâ??re ready to go and make things happen.
Q: I know you are excited to play football every game no matter what the situation is but considering last year when you were forced to sit and watch the playoff game, is there a little bit more excitement for you because you are getting back in the playoffs?
WW: It is definitely a little bit different especially [last year] I had my foot up in the air trying to get the swelling to go down and things like that. [Iâ??m] definitely excited about getting the opportunity to go out there and have some fun and get in the playoff atmosphere. This is what itâ??s all about.
Q: How frustrating was it to not be on the field last year? You havenâ??t played a playoff game since Glendale in 2007. How did it feel not being out there last year?
WW: It was tough. It was definitely hard to watch, especially the way the game went. I am definitely excited to be out there and these are the types of games you play for. This is what you spend all year getting ready for and you want to go out there and put your best foot forward.
Q:  Can you put a number on how much Darrelle Revis was covering you on the Dec. 6th game? It seemed significantly more than the first game.
WW: It was definitely a little more. I donâ??t really know a number. It was quite a bit, especially any time they did any sort of man coverages and things like that. It seemed to be a lot more, so youâ??ve got to be ready for everything and study film on everybody, and make sure you are definitely ready for him and youâ??ve got to bring it every play because he is a great player. Heâ??s got great feet, he moves around well and [he] does some good things out there.
Q: What makes Revis as good as he is?
WW: I think he is very patient. He has good feet. He moves around really well. He understands the game. He gets his hands on you pretty well. [He] understands what youâ??re trying to do to him, so he definitely is a tough guy to really set up and get open against.
Q: What has Deion Branch brought to the offense?
WW: Deion is such a great player and such a great teammate. The guy is tough to cover. He does a lot of great things out there â?? he runs some really good routes. Tom [Brady] trusts him and they are kind of on the same page. He is another guy with great feet and he can really move around and do some great things out there.
Q: You guys were on such an impressive roll heading into the last 5â??6 weeks of the season, how do you guys feel you will handle the bye week, are you afraid that you have lost any momentum at all?
WW: We really got after it during the bye week and even this week of really concentrating and practicing hard and making sure that every play, even in practiceâ?¦ you never know when you will get the chance to run it again before the game, so you want to make sure that you are putting your best foot forward out there and making it happen.
Q: How does the playoff atmosphere translate to practices this week of preparation, do you sense it?
WW: Yeah, absolutely. [Weâ??re] really moving forward and weâ??re going out there being good little foot soldiers. We are making sure we are going out there doing everything coach [Belichick] asks us to do.
Q: Is communication a big factor this week with all of the Jets blitz packages?  Youâ??ve really got to focus and be alert and make sure everyone is on the same page.
WW: You definitely have to make sure you are on top of things. Especially with this team, they do so many different things. [They] move people around and do a lot of blitzes. A lot of teams you donâ??t see all year, so you definitely have to be on your toes and make sure that youâ??re ready to go.
The final tally: Welker uses a reference to feet or toes 10 times in 17 questions. He works in â??best foot forwardâ?? (3x) most often, followed by â??great feetâ?? twice.
Well played, Wes. And he didnâ??t even stick his foot in his mouth. Very well played.

Well that seals it. Jets are gonna win.

Everyone and their mother is picking the Pats to win.

They are fucked.

Oh and Hawks will beat the Bears. Cutler is due to throw 16 picks.

as far as the falcons vs packers… im gonna go with the packers… if starks can establish himself early then the packers should be able to win. even though the game is in atl the falcons are only 2.5 pt favorites…

packers would’ve looked better last week if it wasn’t for jones dropping an open td…

Starks is going to have a rough time establishing himself on the road, and I think his lack of experience is going to be exposed. The Falcons are a top 10 team against the run, and I think playing at home and going against a rookie is only going to amplify that units ability.

Atlanta’s secondary is also very good, Grimes has been one of the best CB’s of the year, and I think Rodger’s and Co. is going to have a much tougher time dealing with ATL’s D.

(Ryan+Turner+White) > (Rodgers+Starks+Jennings)

Market size. I have gathered your a dallas fans so you get media love, but if you are in a small (Greenbay) or weak (ATLANta) media market, you tend to have no pull nationally. Atlanta is definitely in the bottom five of media exposure. Big cities and big names get big love, everyone else gets ignored. I am suprised the media has been stupid enough to act like the PACK is just another semi succesful wild card team.
I have virtually stopped watching espn and only l,og on to look for actual news, because the shit has become so dumbed down. Sorry for the rant but media exposure is a sore spot for me.
EG. If that Marshawn Lynch run had been in Cowboys, Steelers, Giants, Pats uniform you would be seeing that highlight as an NFL promo for years. After the Hwaks lose well probably never see it again.

Jets will crush, and Ryan will celebrate by letting anyone who wants give his wife a foot massage (does anyone notice how the media seems to embarassed to talkn about this)

It’s gonna be hard for Cutler to throw 16 picks when Curry is going to take him out of the game within the first twenty minutes.

Did anyone hear wes welkers “feet” comments? Comedicgold even for a jet fan.

Oh and beans and his usual reverse psychology post.

Even the most unrealistic jet fans know we dont have a shot this sunday

Hilarious. Might also backfire. I think the Jets have a chance, everyone always Has a chance. I also feel like the game could hinge On Welkers performance. I also think the Jets are the type of team to use that to get fired up, and they have the culture where a backup LB might say to himself that hes not going to let that shit fly.
It might also be such an awkward situation that they are all just ignoring it to not lose respect for their coach completely. Sounds like that old Jets fan protective skepticism to me.

I agree whole hearted, I dont watch ESPN for the same reasons. They are more into the life story and trauma of a player instead of what actually happens on the field.

Which makes it even more hilarious they are not talking about this Rex RyaN THING MORE… It seems like the type of tabloid shit that has become their bread and butter. I lime to think that all the media analysts are all thinking “shit I dont want anyone to dig up my foot fetish video, maybe we better just leave this one alone.;”

Yes come to butthead. I really think this would make our Defense in the top 5.

funny enough the other espn (2, 3,etc) channels are pretty good on the sports news IMO… espn has gotten to be like MTV was back in the mid 90’s where they had their own tv shows and what not…

At least it is not a Scat fetish. NFL network, NFL.com and Serius NFL is all I listen to anymore. ESPN only for college football and then only in little parts.

Agreed! Unless Joe Willie is coming out of retirement.

Come what ever may this weekend for any of these teams. It’s the play offs, it’s one and done.

I can not WAIT to watch my Pats take on the Jets for the 3rd time this year, I think it will be an incredible test of coaching for Mr. Feet down in Jet-land to come back from that last loss. I’m willing to bet that at their last meeting our coach Billy didn’t use all the tricks up his sleeve, so I think we’ll be ready for them again.

I do think that the game of the weekend will be the Ravens/Steelers game, that game is looking to be a brutal balls out last man standing game.

And I’d love to see the 'Hawks make it to the big game, but I think it’s highly unlikely.
