Why so defensive? I never said you were pulling things out of thin air. What I said was I don’t think it is a real motivational tool. If Rex came out and said flat out the Jets would win, than I would understand. He’s given the Pats plenty of respect.

Did I come across as defensive? Wasn’t my intent. Let’s just say Rex’s fat, non-stop mouth makes it real easy to hate him and the Jets. I think he’s blustery but can’t back it up. It’s obvious with all the scandals the Jets have experienced this year can be directly tied to him and his lack of leadership style. All bluster, no discipline.

I think the Patz will win, not because of fodder, but because they have a better team.
I think they have the better team. But I know they eats this bulletin board material up. Come on, how can you say this is not a factor in sports?
The best example of this of all time is Spike Lee riling up Reggie Miller in the 1994 and 1995 Eastern Conference playoffs. Reggie was so fed up with Spike’s taunting and comments he just went off. The whole city of NY wanted Spike’s head on a platter following those games when he riled him up.

Man I thought I was going to have to internet seperate you two old fuckers, somebody end up with a stroke. First thought in my head when these two teams ended up going to play was this thread was going to go to shit. I have heard mixed reports from current players and X players on the BBoard material. Some players thrive on it, some could give a shit. Just like everything else in life normal variations.
Very true. What I’m saying is Belichick and his team does thrive on it, particularly Brady. I actually hate it when a team I’m rooting for gives the other team bulletin board material especially if the other team has a superstar. My immediate reaction is to want them to STFU, don’t give them any fodder please.

Steelers vs Ravens
Guys who give a shit about BBM this week and seem to need it: Hines ward, Terrell Suggs.
Guys who don’t give a shit about BBM this week and don’t need it: Ray lewis, Heath Miller.
Here’s a pic to demonstrate how I see coach Ryan. Picture Rex( hunter with bear cub) holding up Bill’s head and the momma bear in the background representing the Pats players lol.
I dont think Rex’s latest comments are going to really get to the Pats, but the stuff he said earlier in the season and his Superbowl guarantee will probably be echoing around their locker room. I am definitely not the Pats biggest fan, but they really do seem to play better when the other side talks shit (not saying Rex is). Some really great games so far, I hope the playoffs continue to be close games.
Agreed on the Miller thing. But that’s a once in a blue moon type thing.
Maybe I’m the one getting defensive knowing damn good & well that Rex has his head up his ass. I like his philosophies, but his delivery sucks. He is a hell’uva def. coach. He knows football, he just doesn’t know media. Live & learn I guess.
But somehow he gets his players to believe in the system & they go out & give it everything they have. Sanchez is the only question mark on that team. If we had a high caliber qb, I think the tables might be turned.
As for the Balt game JB? I’m originally from Balt. so I can’t help you there. Though I do think Pitt will win. But I’ll be rooting for purple.

I will still be cheering for the Hawks. Silver you just never know.
I’ll be rooting for the 'Hawks as well. They provided the most entertaining performance last week, and Lynch went to Cal.
Overall though, I’d be fine with any team that hasn’t won a Super Bowl in the past 5 years to take the crown this year.
You’re just jealous the BlackHAWKS won the Stanley Cup.
Of course Rex Ryan is talking shit. He took a jab at Brady, and praised Peyton Manning, saying Brady doesn’t study like Manning does. He said this because Brady went to a play with his wife instead of watching the Jets game live. UH HELLO, as soon as Brady walks in the door next morning he’s going to watch the game, whether it’s forced or not.

I fucking loled.
God I’m nervous about this game.
You’ll be fine. Brady and his flow will come out on top. We’ll just have to wait and see how easily he does it.
I’ll take the Pats, Ravens, Seahawks, and the Falcons.

How did the Steelers vs. Ravens game not get the primetime slot? That should be the hardest hitting, best game of the weekend.
I’m pretty sure the slots are predetermined.
I agree though, that is definitely the marque game of the weekend followed by the Pats/Jets game.
Now I know I said the other day when discussing b. board material w/Rand that I didn’t buy into it. However after yesterday’s comments from Cromartie, I am now positive Brady will wipe his ass up.
Let’s see if I got this straight… The #2 QB in the league had Cromartie chasing his tail the better part of Sat. night. Now, what do you think is going to happen when the #1 QB & MVP of the league will do to him?
I understand Rex’s comments, I really do. Put the target on him & let his players play. But Cro’s statement is about as idiotic as having 8 kids by 8 different women!
Talking with my father back in MA, the saying there this week is “quite optimism” regarding all these silly antics the Jets are putting out in the media.
They Pats have never really been much of a media whore team, and now isn’t the time to start. We are letting the jets do/say what they want alllll week, but come sunday…that’s when we take control.
As far as the Steelers/Ravens game goes, I’d love to see the Ravens come out on top but it’s going to be a tough game with the hard hitting Steelers.
Who ever you guys are rooting for, this weekend will be a great weekend of football!

I like how the Pats have kept to themselves for the most part. I did think it was sly of Brady to refer to Cromartie as a “good” cornerback and then mention Revis as a “great” cornerback, you could definitely tell he was undercutting Cromartie but he did so in a nonchalant way.
The 49ers already won their playoff game against Miami/Stanford, so I’m just happy to sit back and watch some amazing football this weekend.
How come nobody is talking about the Packers and Falcons? To me this is just as exciting as the Jets/Pats or Ravens/Steelers. The only real dud this weekend is the Bears/Seahawks, but I will say if the Hawks can play like they did last week look out. We could really have an out of this world 4 game divisional playoff.

Clay Matthews and the Packers D will crush Matt Ryans and theres nothing the Falcons can do about it. I cant wait for the inevitable systematic ass rape of Rex Ryan and Cromartie by Tom Brady,Bill Belichek and friends. The only real competition is Steelers/Ravens because they are so similar with the way they play and their stats. It just depends who can out smart and out play who. Raven gonna Rave.
