This whole concept of who is or isn’t a “shitty fan” is stupid from jump.

I’m 31 years old.

The last time anything like that, or that type of name calling was relevant to my, or anyone I know’s, life was middle school.

Most times people have differing opinions. As adults, most of us just converse about them, not call each other names. Trust me, when me and the boyz get together to watch a game, we have these conversations a lot. It is a lot more fun to play like any of us have a clue and go back and forth, than simply cheer on with no thought. And get this, some people actually appreciate being able to see a team from the outside, somewhat objective POV.

The NFL guy(s) I’ve talked to really opened my eyes to how silly some fans really are.

Anywho.
Agreed and it actually gets more entertaining also because you are able to actually enjoy other teams when they play. You start to view the games through a different light and not rabid fandom. I think people forget that this is a profession for the players and they have friends on other teams that they hang out with in the off season.

Someone please tell me why EVERYONE is over looking the Falcons? They have the longest winning streak in the league, their only losses come again 2 10-4 teams on the road and they have/had one of the hardest schedules in the league. They aren’t flashy and play some teams close but they win, remember you guys just said a win is a win right, well they’re doing it week in and week out, yet no one from ESPN to message boards give them any respect.

That said I think they will lose to NO Monday but still win the division and home field by beating the Panthers the following week. This team should not be counted out, guess I should be happy no one is looking at them as much of threat but come on, they’ve been better than everyone (Pats included) all year. The road to the Superbowl runs through the ATL.

Because we are a bunch of dicks in this thread, lol.

They are better off without the attention. All teams are.

Outside of Jersey sales. No need to have 6,000 sports writers slobbiong your nob.

^ The guys who know football are not over looking the Falcons. But lets face it, they are not a controversial or big market team. I think its good for them to fly under the Radar and make a splash in the playoffs.

You’re right about not needing the attention but for once I’d like to turn on ESPN and not hear, “and the Falcons beat ___ by __ points, now for 25 minutes about how awesome the Chargers are even though they lost.”

I watch most games with a friend of mine who I’ve known since grade nine. He hardly ever gives the other team credit where as I do. Example: Play fake by Sanchez, I said what a great play call and all he pointed out was the Steeler D mistake lol. It all good man.

X2 on the fans. As you may know(maybe not) I point out from time to time how Jeff Carter of the Flyers is my next door neighbor. The stories I hear from him when he comes home and the stories you read in the paper by “guys in the know” are laughable. Athletes shake shit off, they have to, fans don’t…I’m one of them.

I saw some pics of him and his teamates partying at his condo on the Jersey shore a couple days after the finals last year…they were having a good time relaxing and joking around. Were they bummed they lost? sure but life goes on. Reflect and improve, not reflect, shrivel up and die.

I still grouse(yeah I’m old) about a blocked punt in a playoff game against the cheifs when Joe Montana played for them. All Pittsburgh had to do was punt the ball and hold them deep. Punt was blocked and Joe saved the day. That fuckin’ bugs the shit out of me to this day lol.

Hahahahahaha, put down the pipe and back up DDay. Man you are dreaming to ever thing the ESPN will give props to any team other than the big guys. You will have to do what I do, get NFL network and Serius Sat radio. Listen to guys that actually played the game and do not preach for ratings.

I know what your saying dude but I like smashmouth physical angry ugly football and the Falcons don’t seem to have any assholes on the team to grab headlines, good or bad.

DDay, buy yourself a subscription to the NFL Network for Christmas, it is definitely worth it and as DJ said the guys played the game and say it like it is, they dont really put a spin on things.

I guess so. Thing that sucks is I have satilite radio in my personal car but 99% I have to drive my work car so I don’t even get to enjoy it. Maybe once they win the big game we’ll get some respect and maybe just maybe they’ll stop talking about the effing Saints.

Honestly I stopped watching ESPN a couple of years ago, now I will flip over to it only during commercials.

Did anybody see last Monday night the post game 20 min bullshit with Favre on ESPN I was at Doogies house and both of us were like shut the fuck up already.

Well man they are the champs and it is not like they were hugging the Saints balls for years. Mattie Ice just needs to give it to the Burner and win the big one.

I have the Sunday Ticket on Direct TV but I work for the cable company so I have to have cable in the house which doesn’t have NFL network. I do get NFLN on DTV but since I only get the very most basic package of channels on DTV and all the channels on cable we only watch DTV on Sunday. Guess I should start watch it more and STFU

Hey I was the same way, I mean ESPN was ground breaking in what they were doing early on. Now though there is competition and they have moved to ratings. And the human interest stories just get fucking annoying. Call me a hard ass, but I could care less about shit like this, I want to know about the game etc. Not about when they were 3 and there father died in a car wreck and he owes all he is to his uncle Joe who stepped in as the father figure.

Damn Cassel is one tough bastard. I know he doesn’t have a chance at the MVP award but its hard to think of many players more valuable to their team. Just two home wins and we are in the playoffs. Fingers crossed.

& for you clowns posting the patz are weak now, are complete idiots.
Weak? No.

Do they have weaknesses? Yes.

Did a top flight D handle the Pats O? For 45 mins.

Did the pats D let a not so good running team run all over them? Yes.

Like BB said, if they keep playing like that, their season will be a short one.
Did a top flight D handle the Pats O? They had a couple of three and outs and that’s about it. The Pats O still scored 31 points.

Did the pats D let a not so good running team run all over them? Somewhat yes. But they also had some key stops. Holding the Packers inside the 5 yard line and stopping them three straight times for a field goal was huge. Also the second to last play of the game to tackle that dude and keep him from getting the first down; with 4th and 1 they couldn’t spike the ball to stop the clock which ended up confusing the Packers O and ended up losing the game.

The D definitely needs to play better. Sometimes you win ugly. Let’s not try and extract too much meaning out of one game.

^I already said this purple ass-slapper.

As it was for the Jets. One game. Don’t mean shite if they don’t when the next 2.

The Pats O scored 24 points, not to be a dick or anything…
