It was good to see the Texans play the way they’re capable of playing. Us Houstonians would just like to see it on a consistent basis.
Again if there Defense would play like that against elite talent then we could see that. But they were playing Rusty the scrappy 12 year old from the local pop warner team.
I just meant the energy they were playing with. It’s like sometimes they’re overthinking and can’t get out of their own way, and other times they’re just playing ball and having fun. Yesterday they were having fun. And, Cushing ragdolled Johnson a few times which was awesome.
I agree, but Baltimore has played with that same passion why? Cause they have the Defense and attitude, the Texans could do that because of who they were playing. All they had to do was shut down Johnson and Rusty was not going to beat them. Its always fun beating up on a lesser opponent.
Man, the way the last few years have been I’ll take what I can get. The Texans clearly have some talent, they just can’t seem to put it together. They need to make some moves to round this thing out.
The moves they need to make is on D, I dont know if it is the D coordinator or personell. I just started watching the Texans when I moved to Houston, my father-in-law’s favorite team, he is a houstonian.

Anyway there D cant produce a pass rush with just the front 4 (see Bears D) so it is making there secondary look even worse then they are. Texans have a good stable of Linebackers, they need to draft more on the front end and get a better D coordinator, my .02 of this season.

Offense doesnt need anything now, they have passing and running game that is out fucking standing.

You should have known better than to watch an nfc west division game. Every team below .500 after 11 games is a joke.

Sucks about Gore. I’m not sure if there is just more media coverage or more injuries the last few years. Seems like more and more injuries.
More games then we had growing up and players are just bigger, faster and stronger. I think teams are more likely to put people on IR so they can grab a player from waiver wire. Wait to the new 18 game schedule.

Okay Print here you go.

AFC playoff picture in my humble opinion.

AFC South

 1. Indy

AFC North

 1. Ravens
 2. Steelers (sorry BJB)

AFC Eeast

 1. Jets
 2. Pats

AFC West

 1. Chargers
DJHT, et tu Brute?

All kidding aside your list looks good to me. BB’s wonky ankle is not good news, he’s going to be running for his life against the Ravens. The O-Line is better at run blocking than pass blocking and you don’t run against the ravens so that leaves…
Sorry man just one of those years and I am going by what I have seen. Doesnt mean the Steelers cant go to the SB, cause in the playoffs all bets are off.

To answer the IR question- A lot of it has to do w/the tackling, no one does text book form anymore. It’s all about the kill shot. Whether be to the head, chop blocks, cuttting knees, launching themselves, all that shit kicks up the ratio of injuries.

WC? let me ask you this, what’cha gonna do when the Niners select Cam for your first rd draft pick?

^ Hahahahahahaha thanks Print I need all the laughs today I can get. 49rs will go for another southern guy in Mallet.

Move to Columbia, find a favorite soccer team to root for, and immerse myself in their “culture”.

The Giants lost Steve Smith with a torn pec in practice, diving for a pass. No contact. Come On Man! They also lost Hixon in practice before the season ACL - again no contact. Those are tough to swallow. When a guy gets crushed by someone fine but this non-contact stuff is crazy.

I remember hearing reports about the turf there at the new stadium being the reason. I find that funny cause to my knowledge Jets players have not been going down.

Injuries are part of the game, I also think that now there are more “stars” than ever before. When I was growing up it was one or two guys on a team that were the big names and everyone else was just “the guys”. When “the guys” got hurt they were replaced with more “the guys” and things went on. Now everyone is a star, down to fucking nose tackles and that would not be the case when I was a kid.

my FF needs nicks to come back more than ever…

Very good point about all the stars

The next few games Eli could really solidify himself as a top QB, with no WRs to speak of besides Mannigham and Boss (Derek Hagan, Michael Clayton and Devin Thomas OUCH!) I think the Jints are gonna torch the skins

You know this was my argument earlier in this thread, that he was not a top QB. You are right now we will see how he does. Personally I hope he does bad  but I am a Cowboys fan.

Im an Eli supporter, but this will IMO put him either right up there with Phillip Rivers if he could continue to win with CFL level receivers. If he doesent then I will have to eat my words about him and leave a him a notch below (or more) than the Rivers Ben level.

Agreed. I’d also like to see 'em add some veteran leadership, preferably a backup QB.

I’m also torn, do I want the 49ers to win and make the playoffs? or lose and have a better shot at getting Luck?
WHAT!?!?! I said the niners should draft Luck and you said that was a bad idea (in the MLB playoffs thread!)

What a sellout!
You are correct. I just think by getting Luck we could get Harbaugh. If we can’t get Luck, than I’d want to sign a veteran (Kolb). Are you from the Bay?
I’m from Southern California but San Fran has been my favorite team since I was a little kid.

I’m curious to see what the Niners are going to do this offseason. (I’m still hoping they can somehow sneak into the playoffs)

Im looking forward to seeing the reported who was pestering Derek Anderson last night on SportsCenter later. He really just seemed like he was poking at Anderson solely to get a rise out of him.

All i have to say is that I cant believe my Chicago Bears are 8-3, it does not make sense, they are getting lucky, the defense is bailing the offense out except this last game, offense was great. I dont know what the rest of the country thinks when they look at the Chicago Bears. Here in Chicago we cant figure out if they are just lucky or if we tricked ourselves into thinking that they would suck and now they dont suck we are calling them lucky instead of good.
Whats up man taking a break from SAMA?

I have to agree on the Bears getting some breaks, however there D is lights out again. Urlacher is the key, he has been out with injuries last few years, Pep was a good addition. I am not sold on Cutler yet as a Franchize QB and Forte to me has been a bust. If their running game was solid I think they could make some noise in the playoffs.
CubanMeat32 wrote:

As long as Cutler throws the ball to other Bears they have a chance to beat anyone.

Typically Cutler throws the ball to the wrong team, particularly in primetime games.
