So, In your mind terrorists have to have political motivation and criminals don’t, even though the tactics are exactly the same. Spoken like someone who didn’t live through the events. I live in the area where Snipers struck. One of the victims was 5 miles from my house. There was terror, fear, curfews, roadblocks etc. The police even called it terrorist-type attacks. The money motivation didn’t show up until they were almost caught.

It’s not easier for terrorists to get weapons on US soil. That is ridiculous. I imagine you are referring to the sunset of the Assault Weapons ban, which you seem to have no clue about based on that statement. There seems to be a prevailing view among the apologists that terrorism is caused by poverty and a poor quality of life(usually caused by US imperialism - which is the biggest line of bullshit in world history). There is increasing evidence that terrorism is caused by an environment of political extremism.

You mean like living in an environment where circumstances force you into crappy life conditions and the politics keep you there? Like I said, sheltered little punk.

There is plenty of poverty in the world - look around. But where do you see the vast majority of terror incidents originating from? The Middle East.

So, Europe has never had any terror incidents? I think that they might disagree with you. I guess the IRA can rest easy now, they aren’t terrorists.

The bulk of high profile terror incidents in history have been conducted, financed or supported by Islamic radicals with their unique political and religious views. Bin Laden is a perfect example…the man surely was not repressed by society and did not live in poverty.

I didn’t say that the leaders were poor, I said that it would be easy for them to CONVINCE the poor to work with them. Get it right.

If you take that understanding of the terror problem it logically leads to the conclusion that you have to A.) smash the terror networks(of which Saddam was a significant part) and B.) move the political ideology of the Middle East closer to democracy.

Again, my point was who are we to force others to accept our view of democracy? But then again, arrogant, eurocentric, egotistical, white people like you always did believe that everyone is better off when you are in control.

So, after starting the name calling contest, you want to now take the high road, but still can’t resist a parting shot? So I guess my losing family in 9/11 is crap? My posts and replies have nothing to do with “regurgitated liberal garbage”. Personally, if I had the chance to get a hold of each person responsible, I would do far worse to them than Saddam torture chambers ever could. My views have to do with personal tragedy and trying to make sense of the world as it stands now.

Well, if that is the that case, good. I, for one, am glad to see something positive in the lower reaches of this thread, which is beginning to resemble the lower reaches of Dante’s Inferno.

Eh, I guess I should have derived from the title that this thread would eventually cause at least one member to want to murder another. It was clear that the issue of second-term predictions (especially when there is such a clear division between Bush and Kerry) would be a rather touchy matter.

I expressed my some things that I was thinking about, and you decided to attack me using the Republican spin machine’s regurgitated information. Just to let you know, I am a registered Republican and an African-American. I have access to all the same information. I just don’t tow the party line with everyone else. Which means I take a lot of shit from many different sides. The Republican party has turned into a group of people that don’t want to think anymore. They just accept that the leadership is right.
