TT low
FT low
E2 very low
tell me about your protocol and lab timing.
Thyroid: What is your iodine and iodized salt intake and time-line durations etc.
A1C indicates insulin resistance. You have to make changes to avoid diabetes. This greatly involves your level of thyroid function which ties into mitochondrial metabolic rate. Iodine is a factor as well as CoQ10. Please carefully read the 'hormones and health" thread in tis forum": https://tnation.T-Nation.com/free_online_forum/sports_training_performance_bodybuilding_trt/hormones_and_health
Protocol is the TERRIBLE 200 cyp. E2W ( AT THE MOMENT – NEW endo soon. My doc is a GP) BUT – I supplement 2 pumps andro for the 7th and 8th day of the cycle then 3 pumps for 2 days then 4 until injection day- NONE on blood test day. Bloods once a month.
I had an app. with him today and complaind about weakness, erection problems, brain fog and joint pain. He suggested fiber myalga ( SP ? ) and gave me a scrip and said " try this just in case - you will see improvement in 2 weeks if you have that problem.
… thank you SO MUCH KSman, Skip
Did you see post above re A1C?
You have been exposed to Epstein-Barr Virus, maybe not active now, but there are more tests that could resolve that.
Most people have been expose to this and have anti-bodies, so not really an alarming situation at all.
What are your health issues? What is going on other than the hormones we have been discussing. Please list your Rx and OTC medications. Do you have heart burn? Use antacids? Digestive or food issues? Muscle aches? Cramps? Prostate issues? BP and PR?
Meds-
Carvedilol-2XD-.25mg
pravastatin-1XD- .40mg
lisinopril-1XD-.40mg
clorthalidone-1XD-.23mgacyclovir-2XD-200mg
No heartburn, no antacids, no digestion/food issues, no muscle ache ( except for when I lift of course),BP/PR both VERY GOOD.
Interesting you asked for lymph gland !! I have one that swells a little and is painful. keeps coming back and then goes away. I recieved an anti-biotic a few times for it and I don’t knaow if THAT helped or it shrunk itself ???
… Thanks AGAIN KSman , Skip
Statin drugs can reduce your CoQ10 production in your liver. Please read:
https://tnation.T-Nation.com/free_online_forum/sports_training_performance_bodybuilding_trt/hormones_and_health
You certainly have a lot of meds that can be creating side effects.
BP involves arterial tissue damage and arterial muscle tone. Higher T is helpful, with managed E2 levels. Also vit-D3, high potency B-complex multi-vits with trace elements including iodine and selenium - should not have any added iron, natural source vit-E, vit-C and other anti-oxidants, DHEA if DHEA-S is low fish oil, flax seed meal/oil and nuts.
Your statin drug may be lowering Coq10 levels and reducing mitochondrial metabolism, which increases cholesterol, triglycerides and decreases insulin sensitivity.

Ksman … Cholestrol seems to be fine ?( No ?) As are triglycerides (?) I DO take an iron supplemnt ( poly iron prescribed by the GP - can’t remember the MG at the moment ). I take 1000mg PRESCRIPTION Fish Oil 2XD. I have taken centrum silver multi-vitamin for 20 to 30 years 1XD(contains MDR of Iodine and selenium I believe ). I use iodised salt (and I use a LOT on foods).
Are you suggesting I take the Coq10 supplement ? Reccomended dosage please ?
… thank you KSman, Skip
HTC is 49.8 which increased blood pressure. TRT increases HCT, iron does too. Adult males do not need iron if they eat red meat unless there is a GI bleed and an occult blood test detects that.
With your issues: Try 100mg ubiquinol* form of CoQ10. From lef.com works well, have seen vitamin shop product fail. Do 30 day trial and see if you feel better and watch BP, assume that you have a meter.
- get the spelling right! There is a similar sounding type of CoQ10 product. Ubiquinol is an expensive supplement.
Total cholesterol is a bit low. Below 160 is associated with increased all-cause mortality. Cholesterol is important, not evil.

Ordered the CoQ10. BP is 110/65 or lower usually. Yes, I have THREE B/P cuffs. Dr. tested me for Iron came back low and prescribed the Poly Iron. I eat A LOT of red meat/chicken. I intend to get the occult blood done next Dr. visit. I see NOTHING in the stool.
How does one RAISE cholesterol? I eat eggs EVERY morning, Meat for lunch/dinner. ON the Cholesterol test it reads that I am LESS THAN 1/2 the average risk (??? ). What is a good total and can I actually achieve it ?
… thanks Ksman, Skip
Take a bit less pravastatin-1XD- .40mg
Your RBC and ferritin are very good, maybe you do not need iron.
I have had serum iron low and serum iron high. I think that it may be a variable thing.
You can be at lower risk of heart attack/stroke etc. But cholesterol is only part of the equation. Some with lower cholesterol get heart attacks and some who are high do not. What is the bottom line is endothelial health. You can also test homocysteine which is specific to arterial inflammation that leads to mortality. Search for endothelial dysfunction for things to read. Good articles at LEF, and past magazine articles as well as papers. Your Rx list suggests that there is a problem.

.40 praviststin 1XD IS what I take. Would you suggest STOPPING it altogether and see where my numbers go ? ( What are GOOD total, HDL and LDL numbers please ? I was given this medication “cocktail” many years ago by a heart specialist. I have lost weight and gotten into MUCH BETTER shape since then. Also should I try stopping the poly iron ?
please extrapolate on “Your Rx list suggests that there is a problem.”
PS: Dr. just gave me a script for CYMBALTA . Don’t know if I like that ? YOU ??
… thank you KSman, Skip
Rx lists looks like you are been treated for heart disease.
Skip the iron. Good for fertile women.
HDL, the higher the better, very protective. My supplement lists support that.
Total cholesterol 180 is very healthy. You could try 1/2 dose if the statin or EOD and see the result.
You may be able to fly without the statin.

My meds list WAS created by a heart Doctor MANY years ago. OK==Iron is GONE! I will take 1/2 the statin and see what bloods look like in a month.
Opinion on the new drug he prescribed ?? ( Cymbalta )
I would avoid AD meds, SSRI’s for sure, until you get TRT and thyroid issues resolved, then you might not need the AD meds. In many cases, doctors really mess up this way with guys having background hormone problems.
If you feel that an AD med would help your state of mind/mood, I suggest Wellbutrin as is does not rewire your brain or castrate your emotions. It increases energy too. When you stop it, your brain does not become a train wreck.
SSRI’s are sexually crippling, Wellbutrin does not interfere with libido or performance.

I think I will take your advice and skip the SSRI’s entirely ( I complained of joint pains, fatigue, ED, brain fog, etc and he prescribed that ). I agree that the MAIN CONCERN is to get the T/E2 numbers good and work from there. The only problem I see is that from what I have read raising E2 is all but impossible.
I hope to get on the protocol you recommend with the new endo. At least that would be a START to alleviate all these problems the protocol I am on presently has CREATED !!
… Thanks KSman, Skip

And a possibly unrelated question if I may … I use a FAIR AMOUNT of sugar substitute could THAT contribute to any of my problems ??
