Unsteady temperatures are seen with some adrenal problems.

Your event sound more like adrenal hormones that thyroid. But sore throat is a concern. You are taking selenium so that is not a factor as a deficiency and we know that you do not have a problem with an autoimmune issue.

You introduced two things at once and need to stop one and see how that goes then introduce the other.

I suggest that when you take the adrenal support product, that you do this early in the day. You do not want to increase cortisol at night. Cortisol levels drop in the PM and you need that for sleep.

Progesterone is one step away from cortisol and one can supplement progesterone. On Amazon, you can find [2%] OTC progesterone cream. Suggest KAL brand as I have seen others not absorbing well with women I have worked with. Use size of a pea or two on forearms. Some women find that it helps sleep. But a few freely convert progesterone–>cortisol and cannot apply at night. I also suggest to guys that their wives might benefit from this product as well … but getting off topic.

Thanks for the reply @KSman.

Kind of goes along with what I was thinking too. Spoke to Dr today and he did say NOT to take the adrenal supplements before bed. And i ended up doubling up my dosage basically because I forgot my lunch, so took at 6 and 9;30. He said that certainly would have made it stronger. The adrenal supplement is used as a stimulator for energy and increasing cortisol levels. He said it definitely could have had an impact on waking up anxious and sweaty like that.

I will continue taking co-supplements for a bit but gonna back off the iodine and adrenal stuff. Will re-intro adrenal stuff when i’m feeling a little more stable.

Temps have been 98.6 at 2 and 4. So, hopefully that’s a good sign.

Updated lab results…Please let me know thoughts.

FT3 - 3.9 (2.3-4.2 pg/ml)
rT3 - 19 (8-25 ng/dl)
FT4 - 1.4 (0.8-1.8 ng/dl)
Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies - 2 (<9 ig/ml)
Thyroglobulin Antibodies <1 (< or =1 iu/ml)
Cortisol 10.3 (4-22.0)
Total T - 465 (250 - 827 ng/dl)
DHEA - 155 (106-424 mcg/dl)
Ferritin 122 (20-345 ng/dl)

Is there any concern with the antibodies, even though in normal range? Does SOME antibodies mean something or is it normal for everyone to have them in bloodwork?

I’ve STILL had discomfort in throat and neck/jaw area after doing iodine treatment and getting up to 20mg, with all co-supplements.

Thanks for any feedback.

Body temps are normal, fT3, fT4 are midrange+.

Try taking iodine to a maintenance dose and observer sensations in throat. TSH will be elevate for some time.

I have also wondered about what ‘normal’ non-zero thyroid antibodies mean. Do not know.

fT3 should be making you feel warm. Jittery? While rT3 is not high, it will be affecting your response to your fT3 by a “normal” amount.

DHEA labs should not be done as DHEA is released in pulses with a short half-life. Better to test the reservoir for DHEA, DHEA-S.
