Life got in the way over the last few days, so I missed squat, press, and DL day. Just decided to start cycle 6 week 2 over again to try and get my schedule back on track. Probably not the best idea.

Until I go to another gym, I’m going to eliminate any heavy incline work. The pad you sit on is adjustable, and in a few sets actually dropped down a notch as I was unracking. It’s abit unnerving when you have ~300lbs over your face and the damn thing suddenly drop on you.

Dude, incline bench seat moving mid-set? No bueno! Tell the front desk or some shit, have it fixed dude. Tell them you just almost died and had to run up to the desk to have them rectify the situation. They’ll flip out and fix it right away! Or not, but at least it’ll be fun to tell them you ALMOST JUST DIED!!!

yeah… I’m actually thinking about switching. There’s a Lifetime mega-gym about a block further walk than the gym I go to now. Between the crappy incline, and the fact that they only have 1 solitary squat rack (which is usually occupied by a fuckwit doing curls) and NO power racks, I’m thinking it may be worthwhile to pay a few extra bucks a month. OTOH, those places are a bitch about long term contracts, and the place I’m at now is straight month-to-month.
Next time I get a chance, I’ll bring it up with the owner. It’s a locally owned, and the guy is actually pretty cool. Hopefully he’ll do something about it.

What I really need to do is finally quit living in apartments, buy a house and build my own gym.

After a 1 week hiatus, it was time to get back to work. Everything works, but nothing works forever, so fter stalling out a bit on Bench and OHP with 531, I decided to change things up a bit. I’ve been kicking around the idea of trying the juggernaut method for a few weeks now, but there wasn’t a lot of feedback on it just yet. Seemed like it made some sense, and I decided to make myself a guinea pig for the next 3 months on it.

Today probably wasn’t the best day to start, since last night was “Movies and Margaritas Night” with the wife, but fuck it.

Bench (done BB style, completely flat, no arch, no effort to retract and depress scapula. I’m thinking the lack of an arch adds about an inch or 2 of ROM at the bottom, and it couldn’t hurt to get stronger there)

Saw a squat rack curler today. Curls would be a charitable description of what he was doing, though. It occurred to me that maybe he just didn’t know that such behavior was frowned upon. First time I’ve ever seen him in there, so maybe he’s a newbie, right? I mentioned it to him, making sure I said it in a completely non-assholey kinda way. I guess it didn’t work, since he got all butt-hurt about it.

Tell me about it. I finally added 5 to my squat that’d been stagnant for months it seems, and my bench seems to be dropping! I need to add incline benching as an accessory, as it’s something I’ve read has some carry over to flat benching in raw lifters. Hey, i’m desperate now, I’ll do anything!

Same here. I doubt I could do 315 right now, but it wasn’t that long ago I could hit it with a full second pause. Fucked if I know why. That’s why I’m trying this juggernaut thing. Based on DF’s post over in your log, I’m gonna try adding in bunch more incline DB presses, too.
