Evan deffinately deserved the win.
As for the Dugdale, Henry thing. It’s unfortunate, but the judging seems to be done half the time before they even see the competitors. It’s really ashame when people aren’t rewarded correctly for their hard work.
Yeah the cockmasters down at the Flex, were pretty much throwing Evan under the bus on their show coverage. Like Silvio had a chance against Evan’s new package. [/quote]
Lol.
This has been going on for too long as well. Look at guys like Levrone or Flex who should’ve won at least one sandow. It goes all the way back to guys like Sergio Oliva…I guess it’s just human nature too play favorites rather than judge based on actuality. You have to come in perfect, I guess, and than hope it’s enough…

I’m really curious what the changes that were made between the prejudging and evening show were. I’ve seen some real differences in past contests, and as the real scoring is already done before the evening show, it usually explains the placings that stand out as being ‘bad calls’. To hear how shredded Dugdale was makes me consider this, as he certainly didn’t out-condition Henry in my opinion. There are probably many instances such as this. Wonder if there are any pics floating around from the prejudging.

not to mention, if you were following the “Play by Play” over at MD even pro’s said bullshit, literally. Dorian Yates, Flex Wheeler, and Dorian Yates were all giving their opinion on the competitors and all had Henry, English, and then Dugdale.
When they announced Henry as 3rd, Dorian, Flex, and Shawn all wrote “bullshit!!!” on the forums lol.
Poor David Henry…I really think it’s because he looks like an evil alien when he smiles and the judges marked him down for that.

It’s because he’s a hardcore DC warrior. Trying to keep a brutha down.
I tell ya, I respect the hell out of Henry, but it just looks like his torso is too short to have that amount of muscle on it, and even though his arms have caught up to torso some, it still doesn’t look “right”
Just my personal opinion though.
Sometimes he does look like somebody shrunk Coleman though…
I saw a back shot of Dugdale from the prejudging last night on some other site, and let me say that the guy was peeled. had striations everywhere! Didn’t look as good in the night show pics, so it makes sense for folks to be upset with the decision, I know I was too.
Well…All I can say is that Henry doesn’t look quite as peeled as English and Dugdale. Regardless, I thought he brought a much better overall package that was definitely worthy of a 1st-place nod. He’s just more filled-out and well-balanced IMO.

Imo English has him on legs maybe… And on the conditioning… But Henry carries way more upper body mass than the others (very evident in the “relaxed” pose imo) and while his belly is a tad round, his abs at least show at all times… The other guys kind of suffer from disappearing-abs syndrome at times, which makes their waists appear a little odd?
Etc… I personally think he should have gotten second at least.
Conditioning is all nice and fine, but since when is it the end-all, be-all of bodybuilding judging criteria?
Dugdale has nothing else going for him (compared to Henry and English)
Btw… I think some of the 202 and under guys really look way better than Evan… But then again, I haven’t seen many pics of him due to the lack of an MD account.

You’re right. Henry was the thickest person on that stage in that class. He had more chest, shoulder and back mass than the others. English did have the smallest looking waist, however, but I am not sure why that edged out the most developed.
Forget what I said about english having him on legs. Only the conditioning part, but imo calves and side-view of henry’s legs > english’s.
Henry was clearly the best developed guy there overall…
You’re right about english’s smaller waist, but imo only from the front and back. From the side Henry’s actually seems a tad tighter to me… (not that it really matters… But fuck, that makes me reluctant to ever step on stage… I mean, you can have way better abs than the other guy and be much better developed overall, but he’ll still beat you… Because some gay-ass judge can see a few more striations on that other guy’s ass? What the hell).
Yeah… Search me… I mean, just look at that “relaxed” pose comparison shot… Honestly now, we all know henry’s back is at the very least up to par with any of the others, if not better.
And in that relaxed shot, dugdale just looks pathetic (arms way too small for the rest, it looks flat out funny how his shoulders and arms don’t match up and his waist seems too big there compared to the others’).
Henry looks just about perfect in that “relaxed to the front” pose. Everything in perfect proportion imo.
No idea how the hell those placings came to be…
Oh well. I hope that they don’t fuck Dave over at the O the way they did here.
He’ll likely be better conditioned for that show, too…

Whew! Alright…I’m glad you came back and said that about Henry’s legs.
Without a doubt in my mind he had the better package than English and Dugdale. Yeah, I don’t understand how slightly better conditioning can trump a thicker, and IMO much more aesthetic physique.
Not to be too much of a prick about it, but I also called Ruhl placing in the top 3, Hide in top 4/5, English movin’ on up and Silvio being his usual stellar self. BEFORE I saw pics of any of them.

So… It’s basically your fault that English beat Henry huh…

I don’t mind a little arrogance, much respect. I didn’t know you called all that.
However, admitting that you called all of this without seeing any pictures of them is basically just like taking a shot in the dark and getting it all right. I don’t think any of your calls were outlandish so that also plays into it.
