Will it be a limp wristed, liberal, I hate America album?
I have the leak too, and I think its awesome. Wings might be the best song they’ve ever done, and Right in Two is up there as well. Rosetta Stoned is pretty cool and unique, sort of like Third Eye but taken to the next level. Vicarious/Jambi/The Pot are all also very good.
just to clarify my previous post, what i got yesterday, and was refferring too, was an obvious fake…what im listening too right now is not…
In anticipation of the official release next week, I’ve taken a day off work and informed the girlfriend I’ll see her in a month
Vicarious is amazing. Tool is one band that never disappoints - keeps taking things to the next level with every album

So what you’re saying is that you had tracks downloaded that were not Tool at all right? Cause I don’t follow the decoy theory. I may have only listened to the new record three or four times total but it takes alot of effort to put out something this good, even when were talking about talent like them.
Even so, it’d be nice if it was, then we’d have two albums…
I saw tool for first when they, did Opiate. Amazing even though they were so young.
I’ve seen them for Undertow also and twice for Anemia.
The first show was in Salem, Ore. in the armory. Very intimate, the only light show was a blue light bulb hanging from the ceiling which Maynard would swing around by a string. Adam jones had just finished the video to Stinkfist the night before in Tacoma, Wa. and they played the video for the first time ever while performing live.(ABSOLUTELY AMAZING I AM VERY PRIVILEDGED!!!)
2nd show was in Portland and they had barracdes up, but when the music started nothing could hold us back.
AWESOME!!!
They play the new song on DMX all the time.

Dude, have you actually listened to Tool? Most of their songs have more, I would say, spiritual content than anything else. The only thing remotely close to what you’re even talking about is Maynard’s cover of Imagine in his A Perfect Circle sideband. Most of Tool’s message…ah, forget you.

The important thing to remember is to buy American, so the communists don’t infiltrate our thoughts through subliminal messaging.
As for the album, it sounds good so far, maybe it will even make up for the abortion that was the last APC album. (passive was about the only decent track on that entire album).
My Review of the album:
The album is AWESOME, and 10,000 days the song (track #4 aka wings pt 2) may just be my favorite tool song EVER. My top 3 songs on this album as of now are:
- 10,000 days ( #4) - this song is simply beautiful… musically and lyrically
- Right in Two (#10)
- Vicarious (#1)
Overall the album has a few worthless tracks(common in regular bands but unheard of in Tool history), and I wouldnt say that it is up to Aenima or Lateralus par, but it is still excellent.
If you guys wanna look at the lyrics you can google them or go here:

exactly. i came home after work and downloaded them again from a different source and i knew right away it was legit this time. i like it. the album is classic tool, almost like a mix of all their albums. vicarious was a good single, but not really indicative of direction of the album. still need more time to digest…

I think Maynard did that with APC on their last album and it sucked…
I really wish entertainers would leave politics to the politicians.
as far as the new tool cd, I like it but am a bit disappointed… There are what like 11 songs and 3 or 4 of them are just “tool noise” mostly instrumentals…
I like the new cd, I just expected more…

The image is straight from their site.
Did you ever watch the “Counting Bodies Like Sheep To The Rhythm Of The War Drums” video? I would say that it is just a little anti-Bush ( http://boss.streamos.com/real/virg001/a_perfect_circle/video/counting_bodies/counting_bodies_hi.ram?siteid=preview ) Not sure if that will work. But it is on the site ( www.aperfectcircle.com )

Exactly. When I heard Vicarious first, I thought vicarious will be to this album is as schism is to lateralus.
I feel I was pretty much right.
Love the new album, but gotta say I hold a special place in my heart for Jambi. At the moment that is.
“fetch me the spirit, the son and the father, tell them their pillar of faith has ascended…”
holy shit, insanity. easily my favorite song thusfar. even though im a fanboy for a decade plus, im not gonna ride tip and call this album a masterpiece, cause imo, it isn’t. the first 5 tracks, as well as right in two, are really the meat of the album. thats 6 out of 11. there is nothing redeeming in the other 5 other than maybe a slight nod to intension, even though thats 7 minutes worth of, well, not so much…
regardless, im upset that i wasnt able to get tickets to their ny show, even after all morning with 2 phone lines and constant refreshing of the venues web page. im sure 10k days live wouldve been worth the price of admission alone…
have not heard the album yet, looking forward to it. I like them as artists but totally disagree with their ideology, none the less their album will be in my ipod with the rest of their stuff. I just realize how messed up in the head they are and this is their form of communication. laters pk

What ideology are you speaking of?

if you read some of their lyrics they blaspheme agaist Jesus Christ and they make it fairly obvious from their website what types of cults they are into. I admit they do know a lot more of the “supernatural” then most humans although they are on the other end of the spectrum then i would want to be on. I find their lyrics and music combination bearable and enjoyable to accept it as a form of communication. To put it into perspective, i would never and never did listen to any so called “death metal” bands cause their music just sucked to me. laters pk
I heard this the other day while riding along in my friends car. I like tool, but thought this album wasn’t that good… actually, I only heard two songs that I liked.

I think its interesting that Tool’s image differs greatly, from people who have never heard their music on one side of the spectrum to fans on the other. For example, there are websites run by conservative Christians who denounce Tool as Satanic, warning others to keep tools music away from their children. The funny thing is taht nothing could be further from the truth. If you can take one message away from Tool it should be to look at everything with an open eye, and to make educated decisions regarding every aspect of life. The people on the website for example, did exactly the opposite…telling, really.
Off my soapbox, I really don’t think Maynard is anti Christian just that their is corruption in any organized religion. Nothing is evil at it’s most basic level, the individual. You would get that from reading the lyrics.
I’m not gonna touch the occult thing, though I think it is overblown. They don’t push that stuff either.

nothing about tool is limp wristed.
im seeing them at coachella in a few days.
the limp wristed shit is the stuff that the media feeds you. panny waisted, war glorifying, pussified, show nothing real or important, AGENDA SUPPORTING PROPAGANDA.
regardless TOOL is that shit
